Dress rehearsal: British police prepared for the attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal, four days in advance

Armed British police, plus ambulance and medical crews, drone and helicopter pilots, firefighters, and the head doctor of the Salisbury District Hospital's emergency department were preparing for the attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal just four days before Russian military assassins arrived from Moscow allegedly carrying a lethal chemical weapon in a perfume bottle.

Not counting the Skripals and the Russians, the British forces numbered at least two hundred. They were mobilized through the afternoon and night of February 27 until the morning of February 28, in the centre of Swindon, Wiltshire; that is a city 70 kilometres (40 miles) north of Salisbury, also in Wiltshire. The Skripals collapsed at 4:15 in the afternoon of March 4, in the centre of Salisbury. At least two of the paramedics who arrived at the scene to evacuate them to hospital had been practising in the Swindon operation.

"There is no intelligence that Swindon is at risk," a senior police officer had warned, "but I hope members of the public understand we need to be ready and prepared for any eventuality. This is Wiltshire Police getting ourselves - along with our colleagues in the fire and ambulance services - in the best position so we're ready for anything."

Amid fake pandemic, Pentagon pushes 'Russia more dangerous than ISIS' fake news - and not for the first time

Perhaps desperate to distract Americans whose lives have been upended by the coronavirus, US Africa Command is trying to argue for a return of its troops to Libya - because Russia is a "bigger" threat than Islamic State terrorism.

While the headline in Wednesday's Washington Examiner literally spells out "Russian presence in Libya more dangerous than ISIS, says US Africa Command," that quote does not actually appear inside the story. It is instead paraphrased by Abraham Mahshie, who appears to be the outlet's Pentagon reporter.

Nor is it made by the actual AFRICOM, but rather an unnamed "defense official." The article does quote an AFRICOM spokeswoman at one point, to make a general observation about Russian private security contractors operating in Libya.

Even if Michael Flynn's case is dismissed, expecting the FBI to stop its political abuse of power is naive

The role of the FBI in instigating the prosecution of Michael Flynn, the criminality of its conduct, and the encouragement it received in doing so from senior Obama officials should offend everyone.

In a dramatic new turn of events, the legal team for Flynn, President Trump's former national security advisor, says the Department of Justice has turned over exculpatory evidence in his case. Flynn is defending against charges he lied to FBI agents in the course of their investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election.

At a minimum, this information, which includes evidence that US government prosecutors illegally coerced a guilty plea by threatening Flynn's son with prosecution, warrants the withdrawal of that guilty plea. Whether or not the judge in the case, US District Court Judge Emmet G Sullivan, will dismiss the entire case against Flynn on the grounds of prosecutorial misconduct is yet to be seen. One fact, however, emerges from this sordid affair: the FBI, lauded by its supporters as the world's "premier law enforcement agency," is anything but.

Former FBI General Counsel James Baker now working with Durham investigation into framing of General Flynn

deep state
Former US Attorney Joe diGenova was on the Howie Carr Show this week and he provided some more inside information regarding General Flynn's case and the unraveling of the coup to remove President Trump from office.

Former US Attorney was on with Howie Carr again this week and he dropped some more bombshells about the current investigation of the investigators involved in removing President Trump and his team from office.

diGenova discussed the Durham investigation and said at the 5:30 mark that Durham is building a conspiracy case and anyone who lied to the court will be indicted for obstruction of justice charges:
The bottom line is this, it's unfolding and what's happening is, what Durham is actually doing is he's painting a picture and not everyone of these acts is going to be a specific separate crime. But they are going to be, what's called overt acts in a conspiracy. One to defraud the United States government. One to deny the civil rights of Trump and Flynn and Page and a bunch of other people.
At the 8:55 mark diGenova drops another bomb when discussing the notes that were released today that show the government was actively working to frame General Flynn:
DiGenova: You know Baker is now working with Durham. James Baker the former General Counsel.

Carr: He's flipped?

DiGenova: Who was a target, is now understandably cooperating because he was looking at a boat load of criminal charges. Once these notes were discovered, and by the way, these were the notes that [FBI Director] Chris Wray and Dana Boente did not want turned over.
At the 10:30 mark, diGenova discussed the General Flynn case that is falling apart on the Mueller gang as we speak. Hero General Flynn was set up and framed by Obama's Deep State. He was illegally spied on and coerced into a guilty plea by the Mueller gang and his then attorneys by threatening to arrest and indict his son. Neither Flynn or his son committed any crimes.

Comment: Mass arrest of the Swamp creatures? We'll believe it when we see it!

Governments & airlines lobby European Commission to refuse customer refunds for cancelled flights

IRELAND is one of 12 countries that have put their names to a letter calling on the European Commission to change the rules on refunds for cancelled airline flights.

It comes after both Ryanair and Aer Lingus refused to comment last week when asked if they were lobbying the Government to have the rules changed.

The joint letter, which is also signed by the governments in France and the Netherlands, points out that European Commission Regulation 261/2004 and "its obligation to reimburse cancelled tickets in cash, if the passenger so decides, places airlines in a difficult situation where they are facing a serious cash flow challenge".

Comment: Are citizens not facing 'serious cash flow challenges'?

The letter calls for the rules to be changed temporarily to allow airlines to issue vouchers instead of refunds.

The joint letter states:

Best of the Web: The death of US oil

us oil
It's game-over for most of the U.S. oil industry.

Prices have collapsed and storage is nearly full. The only option for many producers is to shut in their wells. That means no income. Most have considerable debt so bankruptcy is next.

Peggy Noonan wrote in her column recently that "this is a never-before-seen level of national economic calamity; history doesn't get bigger than this." That is the superficial view.

Coronavirus has changed everything. The longer it lasts, the less the future will look anything like the past.

Most people, policy makers and economists are energy blind and cannot, therefore, fully grasp the gravity or the consequences of what is happening.

UK banks preparing for "severe" recession, profits at Lloyds bank crash by 95%

Lloyds took a £1.43bn hit as it revised its economic forecast for the UK
The UK-focused group has put aside £1.43bn as it prepares for a big downturn expected to squeeze its customers.

Lloyds Banking Group has reported a 95% fall in first quarter profit as it counts the cost of the coronavirus to the economy.

Profits of £74m for the January-March period were down from £1.6bn in the same period a year ago, as the UK-focused lender set aside £1.43bn to cover the expected slump caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The group, which owns Halifax and Bank of Scotland as well as Lloyds Bank, sees the economy shrinking by as much as 7.8% this year under a "severe downside" scenario.

Comment: So banks have provided a meagre £4.1 billion to British businesses from the £330 billion allocated and backed by the government? Is it any wonder the UK economy is facing a depression? Even before the manufactured coronavirus 'crisis' the economy was teetering on the edge because of the corruption at the top, the tyrannical lock down just gave it a little push.

Gregg Jarrett: Michael Flynn should have all charges dropped, be allowed to sue his persecutors

Michael Flynn

Michael Flynn is the victim of one of the worst miscarriages of justice in modern times — an innocent man who was unfairly targeted by the FBI, wrongfully prosecuted by special counsel Robert Mueller, and coerced into a guilty plea under threat.

New court documents finally handed over to Flynn's lawyer contain exculpatory evidence that has been long sought, yet concealed until now. The charge against him should be dismissed. Then, he should sue the very people and government that persecuted him under the pretext of a legitimate prosecution.

The unvarnished truth is that the retired Army lieutenant general and former National Security Adviser never did anything wrong and committed no crimes. He was set up by unscrupulous FBI officials, then relentlessly pursued by Mueller's team of overzealous prosecutors who were desperate to show that President Trump and his campaign colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election.

Powell: Unsealed FBI handwritten notes and emails reveal agents plotted perjury trap on Flynn

michael flynn_andrew mccabe
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan unsealed four pages of stunning FBI emails and handwritten notes Wednesday, regarding former Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, which allegedly reveal the retired three star general was targeted by senior FBI officials for prosecution, stated Flynn's defense attorney Sidney Powell. Those notes and emails revealed that the retired three-star general appeared to be set up for a perjury trap by the senior members of the bureau and agents charged with investigating the now-debunked allegations that President Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia, said Sidney Powell, the defense lawyer representing Flynn.

Rouhani to US: This waterway is called Persian Gulf, not 'New York' Gulf

Rouhani
In light of Washington's incessant acts of military adventurism in the Persian Gulf region, President Hassan Rouhani has once again reminded the United States to whom the waterway truly belongs.
"The Americans should know that this waterway is called 'the Persian Gulf.' It is not called 'the New York Gulf' or 'the Washington Gulf,'" President Rouhani told a cabinet session in Tehran on Wednesday, in remarks on the occasion of the National Persian Gulf Day.
"They should understand the circumstances [surrounding the body of water] by taking into consideration both its name and the nation that has preserved it for thousands of years, and, therefore, stop hatching plots against the Iranian nation every day," the president stated.

The Americans, he added, can clearly witness how the Iranian nation has been and continues to be successful in all areas, including providing security for the maritime area.

Comment: The US came perilously close to starting a war with Iran last year, and though it didn't happen then - its clear that some of the same crazed people in Washington are still itching to inflict carnage on the Persian country.
