Pompeo, in fiery speech, hammers China over international abuses

Capping a string of searing speeches by Trump administration officials, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo slammed the Chinese government in a sweeping address Thursday, saying the United States will no longer tolerate Beijing's playbook to usurp global order.

"The truth is that our policies, and those of other free nations, resurrected China's failing economy, only to see Beijing bite the international hands that fed it," Pompeo told an audience at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California.

The crumbling relationship between Washington and Beijing, strained from an ongoing trade battle, has intensified as the Trump administration places blame squarely on China for the coronavirus pandemic and its devastation on the global economy.

This week, in another sign of escalating tension, the U.S. government ordered the closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston. Beijing vowed to retaliate.

"We opened our arms to Chinese citizens, only to see the CCP exploit our free and open society. It sent propagandists into our press conferences, our research centers, our high-school and college campuses," the nation's top diplomat said Thursday, adding that the Chinese government had also "ripped off our prized intellectual property" and "sucked supply chains away from America."

Pompeo then sharpened his focus to Chinese telecom giant Huawei, a firm that he has previously described as a "Trojan horse for Chinese intelligence."

"We have stopped pretending Huawei is an innocent telecommunications company ... we have called it what it is, a national security threat, and taken action accordingly," he said.

Comment: It's hard to take Pompeo seriously, knowing that the United States engages in pretty much the same types of behavior. Maybe if he first acknowledged his own government's wrongdoings and did something about them, his criticisms of China would mean something. That's not to say there isn't plenty to criticize China about, but it would be nice having it come from someone with some actual integrity.

Iranian lawmaker says blast at nuclear site caused by 'security breach'

A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran's parliament says a blast at the Natanz nuclear complex was caused by a "security breach."

Speaking on July 22, lawmaker Javad Karimi Qodusi ruled out "a strike on the complex by an external object" as the cause of the July 3 blast, appearing to deny that the site had been targeted in an air strike.

"If it was from the outside, we should have seen shrapnel, but there are absolutely no remnants left on the site," he said in an interview with the parliament's news site ICANA following his visit to Natanz.

"A breach in security is our definitive conclusion," he said, without elaborating.

Iran's top security body said on July 3 that the cause of the incident had been determined, but it declined to release details, citing security reasons.

Some Iranian officials said it could have been a cyberattack.

The Jonestowning of America

Jonestown massacre
© Wikipedia909 People Mass Murdered through forced cyanide consumption in Jonestown
Dave Patrick Underwood, an African-American Federal Protective Service officer, was shot and killed at the Ronald V. Dellums Building during the radical riots in Oakland, California. A building named after Congressman Dellums is burdened with its own weight of historical complicity in leftist atrocities.

"Let me commend your pastor, Jim Jones, for the dedication he is showing to his community and surrounding areas," Congressman Dellums once wrote. "And also for impact he makes on members of his congregation."

At Oakland's Evergreen Cemetery, some distance from the riots, a plaque over a mass grave reads, "In memory of the victims of the Jonestown tragedy". The names on the plaque include that of Jim Jones.

Jones, who called cops "pigs" and posed with Huey Newton of the Black Panthers, told his mostly black followers to die horrifyingly of cyanide poisoning to resist the racism of the United States of America.

The white leftist who claimed to uphold the value of black lives killed hundreds of black people.

Radicals call for a reckoning with America's history. But they have not reckoned with their own history that played out much more recently than 1619. 1970s Jonestown has become their model for America.

George Galloway: Labour's demand for Ofcom review of RT licence is apostasy against democratic principles

The descent to apostasy in the UK Labour Party of Sir Keir Starmer continues at such a pace it would come as no surprise if he were to expel his predecessor in whose shadow cabinet he sat without public complaint.

Oh wait... Seems that's already underway.

Full disclosure: I joined the Labour Party at the age of 13, in 1967, and was in it until expelled by Tony Blair over the Iraq War 36 years later. Now, I wish for its total destruction and for a hundred different reasons.

Another reason arrives most every day, but they are seldom as clear-cut as the demand for a ban on RT.

Being more Catholic than the Pope, more royal than the King, is of course 'a thing' in politics. But it can only be used sparingly, it must retain the capacity to shock. If overused it becomes merely a descending staircase to apostasy.

Bibi eyes elections as escape route as Israel's coalition gov't threatens to crumble

Another round of Israeli elections might just be around the corner as the chasm between Netanyahu and his coalition partners continues to grow. While polls predict a general vote would be suicidal for the premier, who lost his popularity over the handling of the pandemic, reports suggest that it might be his only way out to keep himself afloat.

It was a busy week for Israeli politicians and a week that made many journalists wonder how long the coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White party chief Benny Gantz will actually last.

On Wednesday, Israel's parliament, the Knesset, started voting on the so-called conversion therapy law that would ban the practice, which is common among religious circles in Israel.

Brace for impact: Federal Reserve is driving economy towards cliff edge

Federal Reserve
Chris Martenson is a futurist, economic researcher and holds a PhD in toxicology from Duke University. He is telling people to "brace for impact" because we are well beyond the point of no return economically and financially speaking. Martenson explains,
"We are not doing anything except steering towards a cliff edge at this point in time. We had the 2008 financial crisis, and we should have learned a couple of lessons. We didn't learn any lessons, and I think we have just enshrined these lessons into something that is really going to bite us. The Federal Reserve, Plunge Protection Team and all the organs of state are all geared towards one thing and one thing only, and that is giving more money to rich people. I believe we are in the Fourth Turning . . . and one of the hallmarks of this is loss of faith in institutions. The Federal Reserve is still held up as a benevolent organization. They care about inflation and unemployment, and none of that is true. What they care about is shoveling and funneling big profits to big banks. So, the Federal Reserve deserves to lose every bit of respect anybody has ever held for it."

Hannity: New report shows 'indisputable evidence' FBI 'planted' agent to 'spy' on Trump

trump pissed
In his opening monologue Thursday, Sean Hannity said a new declassified document obtained by Fox News reveals a "bombshell" development showing an FBI agent involved in the "Crossfire Hurricane" Russia investigation "actively listened" for certain topics during a defensive briefing given to the Trump campaign in August 2016.

The document reflects type-written notes by FBI agent Joe Pientka after an August 17, 2016 briefing to then-candidate Donald Trump, Michael Flynn and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, "in support of ODNI briefings provided to U.S. Presidential candidates and two of their advisors."

The briefing, which was held at the FBI's New York Field Office, also included a "13-minute defensive briefing" delivered by agent Joe Pientka. The document states that FBI officials Kevin Clinesmith and Peter Strzok "approved" Pientka's notes.

An evidence-free parliamentary report accusing RT UK of being an instrument of 'Russian influence' in Britain is already being quoted as a pretext to ban the broadcaster, in a letter sent to Ofcom by a Labour shadow minister.

Labour MP Jo Stevens demanded that "Ofcom urgently reviews RT's licence" and requested an urgent meeting with Dame Melanie Dawes of the regulatory agency to "discuss my concerns about the broadcaster," in a letter sent Wednesday.

Stevens - signed as the Shadow secretary of state for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport - said the review was needed given the "troubling revelations in the Russia report about the role of RT and Sputnik in spreading Kremlin-backed disinformation in the UK."

Four Russian vaccines which may combat coronavirus have been proven to be safe, with some tests already at their final stage, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin told parliament on Wednesday.

Mishustin told MPs that Russia's health system is prepared for a rise in cases this fall. He explained that the government had provided an investment boost to national healthcare in response to the Covid-19 outbreak and now it has enough resilience to withstand a possible second wave.

"Four vaccines today have proven to be safe, according to Rospotrebnadzor [Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing]."

Comment: According to a local expert herd immunity has already been achieved in most of Russia's cities, however one can't blame the Russian's for taking the responsibility of producing their own vaccines: Also check out SOTT radio's: Objective:Health - Operation 'Warped' Speed - These People Are Crazy!

China retaliates ordering closure of US consulate general in Chengdu in 72 hours

Chengdu
US consulate general in Chengdu
China has ordered the U.S. to close its consulate general in southwest China's Chengdu city in response to U.S. directive for China to shut its consulate general in Houston, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the decision was a justifiable and necessary response to the unreasonable act of the U.S. on July 21 of abruptly asking China to close its consulate general in Houston by Friday.

Shortly after the announcement, Global Times Editor-in-Chief Hu Xijin said on Twitter that China had ordered the U.S. side to vacate the consulate in 72 hours and notified them at 10 a.m. on July 24. The consulate will be shut at 10 a.m. local time on July 27.

Comment: As China's foreign minister recently said to Russia's Lavrov, the US has 'lost its mind, morals and credibility', and, notably, Lavrov agreed.
