How is Defense Secretary Mark Esper going to keep Russia and other "US adversaries" in check?

In early June, US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper gave a report in the United States about his first year of work in the defense agency, placing his main emphasis on "successfully containing" US adversaries. According to him, the agency he is in charge of has "repressed aggressive actions" taken by both "pariah" states (North Korea and Iran) and "close competitors", such as Russia and China.

Talking about "successes" over the past year, Esper also boasted about counterterrorism operations that led to the elimination of "scores of key terrorists". It is true that A. Callamard, UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, cast a pall over those "successes" in the beginning of July by announcing that the killing of Qasem Soleimani, an Iranian general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - who is counted by Washington as a "key terrorist" - was in violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, urging that those involved in "targeted killings using drones" be held accountable.

Mark Esper preferred not to speak about many highly important facts about the activities performed by the US Army so that "its image" would not be ruined. And Mark Esper's image, just like the image of the entire US Army, is by no means a positive one!

Boris Johnson lashed out at 'nuts' anti-vaxxers today as he urged all Britons to get a flu jab in the run-up to winter.

Amid fears that the NHS will face a second wave of coronavirus when the weather worsens, he said the vaccination would keep vital services free to assist the worst affected.

Chatting with medical staff on a visit to a London health centre this morning Mr Johnson was heard to criticise opponents of vaccination.

When discussing those who refuse lifesaving injections like the MMR jab, the Prime Minister was heard saying: 'There are all these anti-vaxxers now, they are nuts'.


Comment: Don't even think about what may be harmful in vaccines, or my government will call you crazy. And treat you accordingly.


He also suggested that the UK would still be dealing with coronavirus next summer, just days after promising a return to 'normality' in time for Christmas.

The Prime Minister said he believes the UK will be 'well past' coronavirus by the middle of next year, but warned of 'tough times' ahead.


Comment: Gotta keep those mixed messages coming - better for keeping the public on their toes to expect whatever Boris's masters want them to do or think next!

The International Schiller Institute held an online forum today with guest experts in the Intel Community. The topic was: "Neither Flynn Nor Stone Were Guilty — There Was No Russian Hack" Bill Binney Makes His Case". Many excellent observations and activities of the Deep State Intel Community were discussed, but they saved their best for last.

The presentation was riveting. As the headlines to the presentation noted:
William Binney, a thirty-year veteran of the National Security Agency and its former technical director, will expose the continuing suppression by British intelligence agencies and their American counterparts of his evidence disproving the entire "Russiagate" story.

"We can prove, that all the data that Wikileaks published from the DNC, that was downloaded on the 23rd and 25th of May, and also the 26th of August of 2016; all of that carried the signatures of being downloaded to a thumb drive or a CD-ROM, and physically transported," Binney says. "So, we can prove that in a court of law. In fact, I put that in sworn affidavits that I submitted in the Roger Stone case and also in the General Flynn case. And the judges would not let my testimony in. I've been hard pressed to find anything (Russia) did in the 2016 election, let alone anything they're trying to do in the 2020 election," Binney said.

Roger Stone, speaking with Sean Hannity on FOX TV July 13 in the aftermath of the commutation of his jail sentence by President Donald Trump, stated: "I could have proved at trial, using forensic evidence and expert testimony from fellows like Bill Binney, former NSA counter intelligence expert...that no one hacked the DNC, that there was no online hack of the DNC... But I wasn't allowed to present that defense, because Judge Jackson would not allow it."

The propaganda source in question is The Day, a news site founded by a team of established journalists and directed at teens. Designed for use in the classroom, each of The Day's stories is presented alongside a range of thought-provoking questions and exercises to help young people learn to "think for themselves and engage with the world."

Though UK-focused, The Day is used in classrooms around the world as a teaching aid.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he spoke with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin about an arms agreement and fighting the coronavirus in their first call since explosive allegations emerged last month that Moscow had put bounties on U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan.

Neither the White House nor Kremlin readouts of the July 23 call mentioned the Afghanistan bounties, which have not been confirmed.

The two leaders discussed the expiring New START nuclear agreement and combating the coronavirus pandemic, according to both readouts. Trump and Putin also discussed Iran's nuclear program, the Kremlin statement said.

CLAIM: President Barack Obama could have sent federal help to Chicago to stop violent crime, but he did not.

VERDICT: TRUE. President Obama ignored the pleas of local residents; he proposed gun control instead.

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he was expanding Operation Legend to send additional federal law enforcement resources to Chicago to help quell a spike in violent crime in that city.

After his remarks, a CNN reporter pointed out that he had blamed his predecessor for the crime wave in Chicago, and asked whether he bore similar responsibility. Trump replied that Obama "could have gone into Chicago. He could've solved the problem, and he didn't."

Trump is right.

Comment: We are led to believe all decisions are made in our best interests. But they are not. Decisions are made, by and large, to benefit those who make them. Is Trump different?

Amazon founder and CEO (and owner of the far-left Washington Post) Jeff Bezos is set to testify before the House Judiciary Committee next week, alongside the heads of Google, Facebook and Apple, over growing antitrust concerns about the tech giants.

Republican lawmakers — at least those Republican lawmakers who haven't been bought and paid for by the tech giants — also have another pressing concern, one that their base won't let them ignore: political censorship.

The tech giants don't just manipulate their platforms to exclude commercial competitors; they exclude ideological ones as well. Much of the focus in this regard has been on Facebook, Twitter and Google — but Amazon, the world's dominant online retailer, has also, to use Google's terminology, "shifted towards censorship."

The tech giant is a digital book-burner, censoring books it considers to be too politically controversial, including criticism of Islam.

Comment: By cozying up to the Lefties, Bezos assures his market domination is unstoppable. Half a country is all he needs for consumer security. His newspaper's perspective will provide the rest.

Senate clears defense bill: Inhofe predicts removal of base renaming provision

The Senate approved a $740 billion defense bill on Thursday that includes a 3% pay raise for U.S. service members and supports the missions at the five major military installations in Oklahoma.

The bill, which sets policy for the Department of Defense for the next fiscal year, was approved 86-14; it will have to be reconciled with the House defense bill passed on Tuesday.

Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe, a Republican who co-wrote and led debate on the bill, said the legislation would give troops and their families "the resources and funding they need to protect our nation." In an interview, Inhofe said the bill would also take more steps to ensure private companies provide better housing on bases, with more oversight from the services.

Inhofe, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, also predicted that a provision would be removed from the bill that requires the 10 military bases named after Confederate generals to be renamed. Inhofe said he spoke with President Donald Trump on Thursday about the provision, which the president and Inhofe oppose. "We're going to see to it that provision doesn't survive the bill," Inhofe said. "I'm not going to say how at this point."

The House bill includes a similar provision. The White House threatened to veto the House bill over the provision, but the legislation cleared with a veto-proof majority.

A Hezbollah fighter was killed in an Israeli attack in Syria, the Iranian-backed Lebanese Shiite group's first declared casualty there since its leader warned last year that further killings of its members in Syria would face retaliation.

Ali Kamel Mohsen, from south Lebanon, was killed by an Israeli air strike near Damascus airport, according to a death notice declaring him a martyr with the Islamic Resistance, a reference to Hezbollah, and which was confirmed by the group. It was an apparent reference to a strike on Monday night that Western intelligence sources said hit a major Iranian-backed ammunition depot on the edge of the Syrian capital.

Syrian state media said air defenses had intercepted a new Israeli "aggression" above the capital Damascus.
