Nevada bill would allow tech companies to create governments

Planned legislation to establish new business areas in Nevada would allow technology companies to effectively form separate local governments.

Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak announced a plan to launch so-called Innovation Zones in Nevada to jumpstart the state's economy by attracting technology firms, Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday.

The zones would permit companies with large areas of land to form governments carrying the same authority as counties, including the ability to impose taxes, form school districts and courts and provide government services.

The measure to further economic development with the "alternative form of local government" has not yet been introduced in the Legislature.

Sisolak pitched the concept in his State of the State address delivered Jan. 19. The plan would bring in new businesses at the forefront of "groundbreaking technologies" without the use of tax abatements or other publicly funded incentive packages that previously helped Nevada attract companies like Tesla Inc.

Sisolak named Blockchains, LLC as a company that had committed to developing a "smart city" in an area east of Reno after the legislation has passed.

The strategic consequences of Myanmar's State of Emergency: The Quad vs. China and Russia?

quad vs china fists
© youtube.com
The Tatmadaw's decision to impose a year-long state of emergency in response to the formerly ruling National League for Democracy's refusal to seriously investigate the military's accusations of fraud stemming from last November's contested elections will temporarily revert Myanmar back to its prior regional pariah status, one which will be exposed to multidimensional pressure from the US-backed Quad while China and Russia seek to stabilize the country in support of its political transition towards new elections in twelve months' time.

Executive Summary

Myanmar entered into a year-long state of emergency after the Tatmadaw detained leaders of the formerly ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) following their refusal to seriously investigate the military's accusations of fraud stemming from last November's contested elections. Popularly described as a "coup" by the international media despite technically being in legal alignment with Article 417 of the 2008 Constitution, it's already drawn widespread condemnation from the US and its allies, including those in the Quad such as neighboring India. This sets the stage for temporarily reverting Myanmar back to its prior regional pariah status, during which time it's expected that the Southeast Asian state will come to depend more heavily on China and Russia. Those two Great Powers will seek to stabilize the country in support of its political transition towards new elections in twelve months' time while the former coalition of American-backed states will attempt to undermine it.

Pathetic: Congressman apologizes, tearfully claims Capitol riot helped him understand his 'privilege' in group therapy/struggle session

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) delivered a speech on the House floor Thursday night recounting his experience during the Capitol riot and said the ordeal helped him to understand his "privilege," for which he tearfully apologized.

Speaking during a special order hour that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) organized, Phillips joined several other Democratic members of Congress to reflect on the unrest of Jan. 6.

Phillips first rose to thank Ocasio-Cortez for organizing the special order hour and "for inspiring rising generations" such as his daughters.

Remembering how he was one of 20 members of Congress who took cover in the House gallery when the Capitol was breached on Jan. 6, Phillips said he wasn't sure if he was going to survive or if he would have to stab would-be attackers with his pencil.

"But I'm not here this evening to seek sympathy or just to tell my story [but] rather to make a public apology," said Phillips. "For recognizing that we were sitting ducks in this room as the chamber was about to be breached. I screamed to my colleagues to follow me, to follow me across the aisle to the Republican side of the chamber, so that we could blend in — so that we could blend in."

Phillips said he then realized at the time that if he were a person of color, he would not be able to blend in by pretending to be a Republican, which moved him to realize the privilege he claims he has as a white man.

Supreme Court lifts some restrictions on California church services

The Supreme Court late Friday ruled that California can't enforce some of its restrictions on church services, partially lifting limits put in place during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a 6-3 ruling, the judges held that the state can't ban indoor worship, but it can cap indoor services at 25 percent capacity. The court also didn't stop the state from enforcing a ban on indoor singing and chanting.

The court ruled in two cases brought against the state by churches — one by South Bay United Pentecostal Church and another by Harvest Rock Church — over restrictions in the state.

California had moved to bar indoor worship services and other indoor activities such as dining and movie screenings in areas designated as "Tier 1" — which covers most of the state — due to high coronavirus numbers.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote that federal courts owe "significant deference to politically accountable officials regarding public health restrictions," but added that deference "has its restrictions."

White House press secretary dodges why Hunter Biden still has a stake in Chinese investment firm

Hunter Biden

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Friday punted on a question about why President Biden's son Hunter Biden still holds an investment in a Chinese company.

Asked during a press conference at the White House whether she had an update on Hunter Biden's divestment from his ten percent stake in the Chinese private equity firm BHR Partners, Psaki referred a reporter to the younger Biden's lawyers. "He has been working to unwind his investment," Psaki said, adding, "as a private citizen, I would point you to him or his lawyers on the outside on any update."

In December, Biden assured voters that he and his family would not be involved in any business dealings that appear to conflict with the office of the president. He said in a CNN appearance:
"My son, my family will not be involved in any business, any enterprise that is in conflict with or appears to be in conflict with the appropriate distance from the presidency and government."
Hunter Biden was reportedly in the process of divesting from his equity stake in BHR in late December, but as of last week, he appears to have retained his investment through his company, Skaneateles LLC.

BHR, whose largest shareholder is the Chinese government-controlled Bank of China, has invested about $2.1 billion.

Flashback Best of the Web: Meet Norm Eisen: Legal hatchet man and central operative in the 'color revolution' against President Trump

Norm Eisen
© UnknownNorm Eisen, Lawfare Ninja Supreme
In our report on Never Trump State Department official George Kent, Revolver News first drew attention to the ominous similarities between the strategies and tactics the United States government employs in so-called "Color Revolutions" and the coordinated efforts of government bureaucrats, NGOs, and the media to oust President Trump.

Our recent follow-up to this initial report focused specifically on a shadowy, George Soros linked group called the Transition Integrity Project (TIP), which convened "war games" exercises suggesting the likelihood of a "contested election scenario," and of ensuing chaos should President Trump refuse to leave office. We further showed how these "contested election" scenarios we are hearing so much about play perfectly into the Color Revolution framework sketched out Revolver News' first installment in the Color Revolution series.

This third installment of Revolver News' series exposing the Color Revolution against Trump will focus on one quiet and indeed mostly overlooked participant in the Transition Integrity Project's biased election "war games" exercise — a man by the name of Norm Eisen.

As the man who implemented the David Brock blueprint for suing the President into paralysis and his allies into bankruptcy, who helped mainstream and amplify the Russia Hoax, who drafted 10 articles of impeachment for the Democrats a full month before President Trump ever called the Ukraine President in 2018, who personally served as special counsel litigating the Ukraine impeachment, who created a template for Internet censorship of world leaders and a handbook for mass mobilizing racial justice protesters to overturn democratic election results, there is perhaps no man alive with a more decorated resume for plots against President Trump.

Comment: If Democratic leadership is aware, in cahoots, and approves these methods (and there is no reason to doubt it for a minute) the plots against Trump have been pre-planned, massive and all-encompassing. He is therefore not without justification to counteract these multiple ploys in any and all ways possible. We, the peeps, only glimpse the menace after the fact if we are astute enough to notice. Only knowledge of just how diabolical the scope and determination to oust Trump is now, and has been since he threw his hat in the ring for 2016, gives proper perspective. For a look at 'The Playbook" go here.

Tucker Carlson taps into the diabolical workings of this group and airs these views and theories:

AOC doubles down on 'terrifying' Capitol riot experience

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Friday doubled down on her "terrifying" experience during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot — saying she initially kept mum about it because "so many survivors fear being publicly doubted."

The Bronx-Queens congresswoman appeared on "CBS This Morning" after being accused of exaggerating details of Jan. 6, when a mob of protesters supporting former President Donald Trump protesters breached the Capitol building.

"It's unfortunately kind of the spring to deny and to politicize our accounts, was something that I sat with," Ocasio-Cortez said on the show. "So many survivors fear being publicly doubted. But the fact of the matter is the account is accurate."

Comment: Tim Pool says AOC is straight up lying:

Arizona senate fast-tracks contempt vote: Election board of Maricopa County may soon face arrest

The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County election fraud
The Board of Supervisors of Maricopa County
The Board of Supervisors in Maricopa County in Arizona are in a lot of trouble. They can allow the Arizona Senate to review the voting machines and 2.1 million ballots that have been requested by the Senate, but if there is a material amount of fraud identified in this review, they could go to jail.

On the other hand, the Board of Supervisors can continue to stall and prevent any expert independent from their operations to review the machines and ballots, but this may put them all in jail even sooner. They are really in a serious predicament.

After choosing option number two for the past few months, the Arizona Senate has had enough. According to former Head of the New York City Police Department, the Senate is done waiting:

Comment: The Pundit further reports progress on other fronts:
The Unites States Supreme Court will consider the Pennsylvania election case, Sidney Powell's Michigan case and Lin Wood's Georgia case for February 19, 2021.

The Washington Examiner reported:
The Supreme Court on Friday listed several high-profile election lawsuits for consideration at its mid-February conference.

The cases include challenges to the 2020 election from Trump-aligned lawyers Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, as well as Republican Rep. Mike Kelly's Pennsylvania lawsuit. Nearly every lawsuit takes issue with the expanded use of mail-in ballots by many states.

The decision came after the court declined to fast-track all election-related litigation in early January.

In nearly every plea for expedition, lawyers backing former President Donald Trump told the court that if the cases were not heard before President Biden's inauguration, their success would be unlikely.

But after the court pushed them off, many lawyers said that the challenges were still important and could have long-term implications for election fairness. Trump lawyer John Eastman told the Washington Examiner that even with Trump out of office, it was important to settle the issues raised by expanded mail-in voting.

Back to normal: Head of Strategic Command says US nuke war with China, Russia a 'real possibility'

The US Strategic Command (STRATCOM) warns that a nuclear war with Russia and China is a "real possibility" unless the U.S. beefs up its nuclear arsenal.

"There is a real possibility that a regional crisis with Russia or China could escalate quickly to a conflict involving nuclear weapons, if they perceived a conventional loss would threaten the regime or state," Vice Adm. Charles Richard wrote in the February edition of the US Naval Institute's monthly magazine.

In response, the U.S. Military must "shift its principal assumption from 'nuclear employment is not possible' to 'nuclear employment is a very real possibility,' and act to meet and deter that reality," according to Richard.

The STRATCOM chief also asserted that Russia and China "have begun to aggressively challenge international norms and global peace using instruments of power and threats of force in ways not seen since the height of the Cold War."

Despite the fact that Beijing only has around 320 nuclear warheads compared to the United States' 6,000, Richard said America would need to modernize its stockpile.

"Even if Beijing doubles its arsenal over the next decade, as the China hawks are predicting, it will still be small compared to Washington's," writes Dave DeCamp. "The US would have to eliminate a good amount of its arsenal to convince Beijing to participate in arms control agreements."

Comment: That hawks are back in action, boys.
US President Joe Biden has just revoked the National Security Council (NSC) reform undertaken by his predecessor, President Donald Trump [1].

Upon taking office, the latter excluded the CIA director and the Chief of Joint Military Forces from the regular sessions of the Council [2]. In so doing, he isolated the SNC from the influence of the chief architects of US imperialism. That reform enabled him to become the second president since World War II not to start a new war. The first president was Democrat Jimmy Carter, who was elected in the wake of a flurry of revelations highlighting the coups d'état and assassinations carried out by the Agency around the world.

President Biden's recent move makes it clear that he intends to resuscitate the Agency's dirty tricks. The director of the CIA and the Chief of Joint Military Forces will again attend all meetings of the National Security Council, but not necessarily those involving the "Principals", i.e. the main government officials.

GOP pols demand Pelosi pay $5K for ignoring her own metal detector rules in Capitol

© ReutersGOP members of the Committee on House Administration said Speaker Nancy Pelosi flouted her own rule on Feb. 5, 2021.
Hours after The Post revealed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi docked $5,000 each from the pay of two GOP congressmen for flouting her new metal detectors, a group of Republican pols demanded she pay the same fine for the same offense.

GOP members of the Committee on House Administration made the tit-for-tat demand Friday night, claiming Pelosi had been seen on Thursday entering the House Chamber without going through the metal detectors she herself had ordered installed after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Comment: From the New York Post's original report:
The metal detectors were installed just outside the House chamber after Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) said she intended to bring a Glock onto the House floor.

That was shortly after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot during which supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the building and disrupted certification of President Biden's victory, leaving five dead.

New York Democratic Rep. Grace Meng tweeted last month: "This isn't really helpful in terms of potential future rioters but it's actually to help protect us from our own colleagues."

Some Republicans, including Reps. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), said they would defy the metal detectors on principle because they believe the Constitution says lawmakers cannot be detained coming or going from the floor.

Roy and Massie, who both previously breezed through the detectors without stopping when they flashed red, were not among the first to face fines.

Pelosi separately imposed a $500 fine last month for legislators who don't wear face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. A second offense costs $2,500. That rule brought into quick compliance a group of conservative Republicans who had declined to wear masks on the House floor.
Nan is making it clear the Capitol Building no longer houses a 'Congress'', but is now a personal fiefdom.
