Tone-deaf Trudeau says trucker protest poses threat to 'democracy'

Canadian PM argues protesters against Covid-19 restrictions must stop as they are disrupting the lives of fellow citizens

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has claimed the truckers who continue to protest against Covid-19 restrictions in Ottawa are trying to "blockade" democracy and harass locals with "violent" imagery.

During a speech in Canada's House of Commons on Monday - which has been surrounded by protesters since January 28 - Trudeau argued that demonstrators against Covid-19 restrictions pose a dangerous threat to the public as well as the state, just one day after the city of Ottawa declared a state of emergency.

Comment: City official's attempts to shut down the protest have begun:
A judge in Ottawa has issued a 10-day injunction order for some parts of the Canadian capital, which requires truckers not to use their horns as an act of protest. This will not infringe on their right to protest against mandatory vaccination against Covid-19, Justice Hugh McLean decided.

The ruling applies to all hours and was placed into force for the zone north of the Queensway. It authorizes police to arrest anyone they believe to be aware of the injunction and be witnessed violating it. The rule will remain in place until at least February 16, when the court is to convene again after a period of adjournment to further discuss the issue.

The motion to ban honking came out from a proposed class-action lawsuit filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice last week by public servant Zexi Li. She seeks Can$9.8 million (US$7.7 million) in damages for emotional and mental distress allegedly caused to her and other potential plaintiffs by the so-called Freedom convoy. Protesting truckers are honking 12 to 16 hours a day, making residents in downtown Ottawa a living hell, the filing argued.

A lawyer representing three protest organizers argued at the Monday hearing that the convoy is a grassroots movement and that many people in Ottawa "don't feel they're being harmed and this is part of the democratic process," contrary to what the other side said. The judge was not convinced by his reasoning.

The anti-mandate protest has paralyzed the area around Ottawa's Parliament Hill. On Sunday, the city declared a state of emergency, ramping up the police crackdown on the demonstrators.

Putin offers Ukrainian ex-president political asylum after talks with Macron

Moscow is ready to offer political asylum to Ukraine's former president Petro Poroshenko and others who face political persecution by Kiev, Vladimir Putin said in a joint press conference with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Monday.

The Russian president noted that he'd first floated an offer of asylum to Poroshenko when the latter was still the sitting president.

"I told him that if he had any difficulties in the future, Russia was ready to grant him political asylum," Putin said, noting that Poroshenko appeared to laugh off the idea initially, responding to such a prospect with irony. His predecessor Viktor Yanukovich received asylum in Russia after the February 2014 coup in Kiev, which ultimately led to Poroshenko's election.

Putin noted on Monday that the offer to Poroshenko, who is now facing charges of treason and abuse of office in Ukraine, still stands.

Putin reveals realistic timeline for abandoning oil and gas

Demand for hydrocarbons could last for up to 50 years, according to the Russian president

Natural resources such as oil and gas will be actively used for a long time, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday. According to him, demand for hydrocarbons is here to stay for 50 years more.

"I have already said many times that it is too early to abandon hydrocarbons," Putin pointed out, "but still we must understand where humanity is heading."

Comment: Putin certainly recognizes the need to shift to less polluting energy sources. But unlike the West, he is not willing to sacrifice his citizens on the altar of ecological sainthood.

'Pedophile protector' Starmer mobbed outside UK Parliament

The prime minister earlier claimed Keir Starmer had failed to prosecute deceased sex offender Jimmy Savile

Opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer was accosted by anti-lockdown protesters outside parliament and accused of being a "traitor" and of "protecting pedophiles" on Monday evening.

The anti-lockdown protesters chanted the name of deceased sex predator Jimmy Savile, and repeated Prime Minister Boris Johnson's heavily criticized accusation that Starmer had failed to prosecute Savile when he led the Crown Prosecution Service.

Comment: Starmer seems to be that breed of politician that changes stripes at the drop of a poll. But first, last, and always, he is an intel asset.

Soros errand-boy Antony Blinken's horrific stain on Albania

As if Secretary of State Antony Blinken weren't embroiled in enough foreign debacles, he now stands accused of meddling in Albanian elections on behalf of billionaire financier George Soros and is being sued for defamation in an international court as a result.

One of Blinken's curious first actions on taking office last year was to sanction the former president and prime minister of Albania, Sali Berisha, the anti-Communist ally of Presidents George H.W. and George W. Bush, who has been in opposition for eight years, and who is a vocal opponent of Soros and his Open Society Foundations, which has been pushing judicial and electoral "reform" in Albania.

In an official statement and accompanying tweet last April, Blinken alleged that Berisha is "corrupt" and had "undermined democracy in Albania," and barred him, his wife and two children from entering the US.

Comment: Wikileaks had a few things to say about Soros and Albania. Appsrently it has been a long-term project for him.

Wikileaks exposes the man behind the curtain
Found within the WikiLeaks' Hillary Clinton email archive is an email with the subject 'Unrest in Albania,' in which Soros makes clear to Clinton that "two things need to be done urgently." He then directs the Secretary of State to "bring the full weight of the international community to bear on Prime Minister Berisha" and "appoint a senior European official as mediator."

Revealing the influence he wields within the corridors of power, Soros then provides Secretary of State Clinton with three names from which to choose. Unsurprisingly, Clinton acquiesced and chose one of the officials recommended by Soros — Miroslav Lajcak.

This is standard operating procedure for Soros. Anyone familiar with the history of the Soros Open Society Foundations in Eastern Europe and around the world since the late 1980's, will know that his supposedly philanthropic "democracy-building" projects in Poland, Russia, or Ukraine in the 1990's allowed Soros the businessman to literally plunder the former communist countries wealth, according to the New Eastern Outlook.
The rest of the article is equally fascinating.

Credit Suisse faces trial for $45.5 million money-laundering for suspected Bulgarian cocaine trafficking ring

Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse offices Manhattan, New York City. Swiss court accuses Credit Suisse of allowing a Bulgarian cocaine trafficker to launder money through the bank.
Credit Suisse was accused in a Swiss court on Monday of allowing a suspected Bulgarian cocaine trafficking ring to launder millions of euros, some of which were hidden in suitcases.

Swiss prosecutors are seeking around 42.4 million Swiss francs ($45.86 million) in compensation from Credit Suisse in the first criminal trial of a major bank in Switzerland (CSGN.S).

They claim that between 2004 and 2008, the country's second-largest bank and one of its former relationship managers failed to take all necessary steps to prevent alleged drug traffickers from hiding and laundering cash.

Comment: We should be under no illusion that suddenly financial institutions are being held to account, because these stories are relatively few and far between and this is a drop in the bucket compared to the criminal activity that the world's financial centres are involved in; some of which came to light for its part in the global financial crash of 2008.

As you'll see below, the real money being swindled is in the billions, and those crimes at most suffer a nominal fine, but mostly they go unprosecuted or they're even 'technically legal':

Trudeau government vows to criminally target American donors supporting Freedom Protest for "undermining national security"

public safety minister marco mendicino
Good grief, when the leftist government in Canada gets pushback, they really don't know how to handle it. Earlier today, the Canadian government expressed extreme anger toward any American citizen who may have made a financial contribution to the Freedom Protest. {CTV}

Reading from a prepared statement, Justin Trudeau's Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino stated the Canadian government intends to target any American who may have donated to the Freedom Convoy protest effort. Apparently, the Canadian government wants to scare Americans away from donating to support the Freedom Protest in Ottawa. [Full Presser Video Here]

Minister Mendicino identified the Ottawa protest group as a "violent", "hate" group. The Ottawa truck drivers were described as an "angry, loud, intolerant and violent crowd," who "threaten the national security of Canada."

Comment: The utter disconnect from reality of these statements would be hilarious if there weren't the possibility of grave consequences. There has been NO evidence of violence, hate or any of the dozen other smears being hurled by the media at the truckers. The fact that Americans may be targeted for sending a couple of bucks to the truly peaceful Canadian protesters is chilling, to say the least.

How many times has the US said 'just trust us' and then lied?

In a single day, two members of the American press asking for clarification and evidence from the Biden administration were painted as sympathizers of Russia and ISIS.

Efforts by US media to establish objective truth - rather than acting as stenographers for the government and its official narratives - is now apparently considered an act of disloyalty to your country, and loyalty to its enemies.

The first instance occurred during a gaggle in which the White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, addressed the US-led liquidation of the latest "ISIS leader," Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, in Idlib province, northwestern Syria, on Wednesday night. According to President Joe Biden's televised retelling of events, the target blew himself up and took some family members and others out with him just as American troops were moving in for the kill. Why would he do that? Because he's a "coward," Biden suggested.

"I know the US has put out its statement that [ISIS] detonated the bomb themselves. But will the US provide any evidence? Because there may be people that are skeptical of the events that took place and what happened to civilians," NPR White House Correspondent Ayesha Rascoe asked.

What Putin Wants

Putin
"I'm convinced that we have reached the decisive moment when we must seriously think about the architecture of global security. And we must proceed by searching for a reasonable balance between the interests of all participants in the international dialogue." Russian President Vladimir Putin, Munich Security Conference, 2007
How much do you know about the crisis in Ukraine? See if you can answer these 7 questions.

Question 1- Does the Biden administration's push to bring Ukraine into NATO violate agreements the US has signed previously?

1-Yes

2-No

The answer is "Yes". In Istanbul (1999) and in Astana (2010), the US and the other 56 countries in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) signed documents "that contained interrelated principles to ensure the indivisibility of security."

What does that mean?

It means that parties to the agreement must refrain from any action that could affect the security interests of the other members. It means that parties cannot put military bases and missile sites in locations that pose a threat to other members. It means that parties must refrain from using their respective territories to carry out or assist armed aggression against other members. It means that parties are prohibited from acting in a manner that runs counter to the principles laid out in the treaty. It means that Ukraine cannot become a member of NATO if its membership poses a threat to Russian security.

Is population control the next conspiracy "theory" to become a reality?

global depopulation
Uttering the phrase "eugenics program" or " depopulation agenda" is a sure-fire way to get yourself cast as an alt-right conspiracy theorist who listens to misinformation from Joe Rogan en route to driving your 18-wheeler as part of a convoy that's clearly protesting to promote white supremacy. Yet, as is typically the case, the caricaturization of those premises into an idea constructed in the form of a straw man that can easily be defeated is done to control the narrative enveloping those subjects so that they aren't examined in good faith.

Time and time again, these supposed "conspiracy theories" end up becoming ostensible realities. The recent deterioration of diplomatic relations between the United States and Russia illustrates this point in spades. Years, if not weeks or even days ago, anyone forewarning of a "false flag" attack would branded as someone wearing a tinfoil hat who has been watching too much InfoWars. That vapid attempt of character assassination completely rejects any examination about the idea that a nation would stage a crisis to create a cassus belli. In this instance, that tendency to overlook facts to focus on ostracizing dissent occurred time and time against despite the declassification of Operation Northwoods, a document which literally proves the long-standing use of this tactic, years ago. Now, the Pentagon and community of US intelligence agencies have cited the formerly outlandish "conspiracy theory" as a provocation for military engagement against the Russian Federation, an adversary its been guilty of concocting many of its own actual conspiracy theories against. How quickly the tables turn.
