Why is a new war coming to Afghanistan?

Taliban

Afghanistan, every now and then, is hit by a bomb attack. Most of the recent attacks have been claimed by the Islamic State in Khorasan (terrorist organization, banned in Russia)). Its ability to orchestrate highly sophisticated attacks shows that the group, contrary to the claims the US military officials made during the US occupation of Afghanistan, has not lost its strength at all. But, to the surprise of many, the IS-K, while a potent threat to the Taliban (radical organization, banned in Russia) and the wider region of South and Central Asia, a new armed resistance is emerging against the Taliban, this time led by local Afghans rather than transnational jihadis. Afghanistan's National Resistance Front (NRF) being led by Ahmad Massoud and Amrullah Saleh, Afghanistan's former vice president, has officially launched an offensive against the Taliban. Scores of other armed groups, too, have announced their formations and declared their intentions, on their Facebook pages and otherwise, to resist the Taliban on their own or in alliance with the NRF.

According to claims made by the NRF's Ali Nazary, head of NRF's foreign relations, a fully-fledged offensive has been launched in the Panjshir valley, in at least three districts. The NRF has a presence across Afghanistan's many provinces. As Ali Nazary told the Associated Press of France in an interview, the NRF will launch operations in all the provinces to drive out what it calls illegal occupants (i.e., the Taliban) of power in Kabul.

Brussels and Berlin's witch-hunt against ex-German chancellor who defended Germany and the EU against US pressure

Schroeder

Gerhard Schroeder has spent his private-sector career since leaving office in 2005 effectively furthering the cause of European economic strength by developing sources of cheap Russian energy to serve the EU's industrial and consumer needs. If Germany and the bloc still have the ability to say no to Washington without having to worry about the economic repercussions that they could face, Schroeder should be at the top of their thank-you lists for that.

Instead, the European Parliament has now drafted a resolution - non-binding at this stage - urging Brussels
"to extend the list of individuals targeted by EU sanctions to the European members of the boards of major Russian companies and to politicians who continue to receive Russian money."
The resolution does not name any names, but such an extension would mean that Schroeder, as well as several others, could become the target of asset freezes and property confiscations. Such measures are currently being applied to Russian 'oligarchs', who have lost their mansions and yachts on EU territory. Now, the bloc could start taking away property from its own citizens.

Former Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook testified Friday that then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton approved the dissemination of materials alleging a covert communications channel between the Trump Organization and Russia's Alfa Bank to the media, despite campaign officials not being "totally confident" in the legitimacy of the data.

Former FBI General Counsel James Baker testified Thursday that the bureau investigated the data alleging a Trump connection to the Kremlin-linked bank, and found that "there was nothing there."

Mook was called to the stand for testimony by Michael Sussmann's defense Friday.

Kiev wants Donbas authorities 'physically gone'

Press interview

One of the top negotiators representing Ukraine in the stalled peace talks with Russia has apparently called for the extermination of "those who call themselves" the authorities in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics recognized by Russia as independent states in late February.

Speaking to Ukraine's ICTV channel on Thursday, Mikhail Podoliak, adviser to the Head of the Office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed the wish that "all these criminal elements which call themselves the authorities there be gone, physically gone," once the Ukrainian military retakes Donbass.

Podoliak went on to define Ukraine's principal priority at this point as "liberating, and doing so in as tough a manner as possible with respect to collaborators as well as Russian troops" Kherson Region and Zaporozhye Region in the south of Ukraine. Retaking the areas would help Kiev regain access to the Sea of Azov, something Ukraine "definitely needs," according to the adviser.

Comment: Hate drives the engine of conflict, all too easily provoked.

Red has turned yellow - the Greek and Cypriot communists are flying a different flag in the Ukraine war

The Ukraine war is splitting the communist parties of Europe between those taking the US side, and those on the Russian side.

In an unusual public criticism of the Greek Communist Party (KKE) and of smaller communist parties in Europe which have endorsed the Greek criticism of Russia for waging an "imperialist" war against the Ukraine, the Russian Communist Party (KPRF) has responded this week with a 3,300-word declaration:
"The military conflict in Ukraine cannot be described as an imperialist war, as our comrades would argue. It is essentially a national liberation war of the people of Donbas. From Russia's point of view it is a struggle against an external threat to national security and against Fascism."
By contrast, the Russian communists have not bothered to send advice, or air public criticism of the Cypriot communists and their party, the Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL). On March 2, AKEL issued a communiqué
"condemn[ing] Russia's invasion of Ukraine and calls for an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Ukrainian territories....[and] stresses that the Russian Federation's action in recognising the Donetsk and Luhansk regions constitutes a violation of the principle of the territorial integrity of states."
To the KPRF in Moscow the Cypriots are below contempt; the Greeks are a fraction above it.

Sleepwalking into fascism: Why CIA/NATO's foreign policy has been consistent for the past 77 years

specialized paramilitary units fighting in eastern Ukraine

[This is the final installment to a five-part series. Refer here for Part 1, Part 2 goes over how Ukrainian Nationalism was bought and paid for by the CIA post-WWII, Part 3 goes over NATO's Operation Gladio, Part 4 goes over the role of the CIA and NATO in the global heroin trade, Miami as the new center of International Fascism and how President Kennedy's murder is connected to this.]

Thus far in this series we have seen a picture that has painted NATO, the CIA, and fascists including outright Nazis all working for the same apparatus and essentially the same goal: to overthrow democratically elected leaders and replace them with dictators and fascist right-wing governments. In Part 4, it was discussed how the profits of the narcotics trade are used in turn to fund right-wing terrorist activity globally, using the model of NATO's Gladio. The "great heroin coup" by the CIA and co. was about having complete control over the profits of heroin for this very purpose.

It is here that we will resume our story.

Hunter Biden's hard drive shows he, his firm earned about $11 million from 2013 to 2018

The hard drive and documents from Senate Republicans indicate few of Biden's deals ever came to fruition and shed light on how fast he was spending his money.

From 2013 through 2018 Hunter Biden and his company brought in about $11 million via his roles as an attorney and a board member with a Ukrainian firm accused of bribery and his work with a Chinese businessman now accused of fraud, according to an NBC News analysis of a copy of Biden's hard drive and iCloud account and documents released by Republicans on two Senate committees.

The documents and the analysis, which don't show what he did to earn millions from his Chinese partners, raise questions about national security, business ethics and potential legal exposure. In December 2020, Biden acknowledged in a statement that he was the subject of a federal investigation into his taxes. NBC News was first to report that an ex-business partner had warned Biden he should amend his tax returns to disclose $400,000 in income from the Ukrainian firm, Burisma. GOP congressional sources also say that if Republicans take back the House this fall, they'll demand more documents and probe whether any of Biden's income went to his father, President Joe Biden.

Comment: NBC fulfills its Deep State assignment by rendering the inescapable facts, more or less, but softening the Biden family's corruption at every turn. More appallingly, this semi-fluff piece makes no mention of the porn and potential child abuse content found on Hunter's hard drive.

Operation Surprise: leaked emails expose secret intelligence coup to install Boris Johnson

Leaked emails reviewed by The Grayzone reveal possibly criminal plot by pro-Leave elites to sabotage Theresa May's Brexit deal, infiltrate government, spy on campaign groups, and replace May with Boris Johnson.
boris johnson coup 1
Leaked emails and documents reviewed by The Grayzone have exposed the dimensions of a wide-ranging conspiracy managed by a shadowy cabal of hardcore Leavers to sabotage former Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal, remove her from office, replace her with Boris Johnson, and secure a 'hard' withdrawal from the EU.

The emails demonstrate that a group of operatives linked to the intelligence services and wealthy, reclusive pro-Brexit financiers spied on campaign groups, infiltrated the civil service, and targeted high-profile Remainers with reputational destruction. While the majority of British voters elected to assert their independence from the EU, this clique of mostly unknown influence agents sought to subvert the process and manage it according to their own elite interests.

Among their key objectives was to strengthen the security relationship between London and Washington, thus supplanting EU authority with more substantial US oversight.

The cabal, which continues to exert insidious, undue influence on British politics, politicians and policy to this day, is composed of wealthy financiers, representatives of the military and defense establishment, and intelligence officials.

San Francisco bishop bans Pelosi from communion

nancy pelosi
© Kevin Dietsch/Getty ImagesSpeaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., holds her weekly press conference at the U.S. Capitol on May 19.
In a stunning break with the recent patterns of the Roman Catholic Church, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco announced Friday afternoon that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be denied the sacrament of the Catholic Mass known as Holy Communion.

The reason for the denial is Pelosi's support for abortion — "the grave evil she is perpetrating," wrote the archbishop in a letter released by the Archdiocese of San Francisco today.

Cordileone also wrote that he has made "numerous attempts to speak with Speaker Pelosi" to help her understand "the danger to her own soul she is risking." Strongly hinting that Pelosi has not responded to him, the archbishop concluded, "She is not to be admitted to Holy Communion."

Comment: It's rather unlikely that Pelosi, (or Biden or any other democrat Catholic for that matter), is actually practicing the religion, despite her claims on her "devout Catholic" status. The Catholic moniker is like a cloak they can wear when it's convenient and take off and ignore when it's not (ie., most of the time). We doubt Pelosi is the least bit upset about being barred from communion, except for the bad PR that may ensue (although not much happened to Biden when he was denied the same). And lets face it, Pelosi's stance on abortion is probably one of her least egregious anti-Catholic traits!

Hillary Clinton did it: 2016 campaign manager says she approved a plan to plant a false Russia claim with a reporter

The Russia-Trump collusion narrative of 2016 and beyond was a dirty trick for the ages, and now we know it came from the top — candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. That was the testimony Friday by 2016 Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook in federal court, and while this news is hardly a surprise, it's still bracing to find her fingerprints on the political weapon.

Mr. Mook testified as a witness in special counsel John Durham's trial of Michael Sussmann, the lawyer accused of lying to the FBI. In September 2016, Mr. Sussmann took claims of a secret Trump connection to Russia's Alfa Bank to the FBI and said he wasn't acting on behalf of any client. Prosecutors say he was working for the Clinton campaign.

Prosecutors presented evidence this week that Mr. Sussmann worked with cyber-researchers and opposition-research firm Fusion GPS to produce the claims on behalf of the Clinton campaign, and to feed them to the FBI. An FBI agent testified that a bureau analysis quickly rejected the claims as implausible. (Mr. Sussmann has pleaded not guilty.)
