Late last year, my name was added to a blacklist published online by the Ukraine Center for Countering Disinformation. I joined over ninety others deemed to be "speakers who promote narratives consonant with Russian propaganda."

These included Manuel Pineda and Clare Daly, both leftist Members of the European Parliament (MEP); Also counted are people on the right, such as Doug Bandow of the Cato Institute, neocon and former IDF officer Edward Luttwak, a slew of rightist MEPs; Ex CIA officer, Ray McGovern; former military and intelligence figures such as Scott Ritter and Douglas McGregor, as well as academics such as John Mearsheimer and Jeffrey Sachs. Journalists on the list included Glenn Greenwald, Tucker Carlson and Eva Bartlett, Roger Waters from Pink Floyd, and even actor Steven Seagal.

No truce with the Heartland

All of us so-called geopolitical analysts owe a debt to Halford John Mackinder. His 1904 paper, "The Geographical Pivot of History" is the basis for nearly all strategic thinking in today's policy rooms, think tanks, and military academies of the West.

We've all heard the first three rules of Mackinder:
Who rules Eastern Europe commands the Heartland.
Who rules the Heartland commands the World Island.
Who rules the World Island commands the world.
Because of the dominance of Mackinder's ideas and the policies erected to support it, the world has been subjected to endless conflict over his conception of the "World Island," which is basically Eurasia.

And that's why there can be no losing for the West in Ukraine. To the Mackinderists at the top of the power structures in London, Washington D.C. and Brussels, losing Ukraine means losing the entire world, because they have this very-outdated view of world geography.

Kingmaker Rupert Murdoch hosted Ron DeSantis at his California ranch and told him: 'Fox News will support your bid for president in 2024'

Fox Corp boss, Rupert Murdoch has officially taken a side in the Republican race leading up to the 2024 National elections, and this time he is backing Ron DeSantis.

According to Vanity Fair, the conservative news mogul invited the Florida Governor to his Vineyard in Bel Air, California for dinner in 2020 and assured him that Fox would support his potential presidential run in 2024.

Earlier this year, signs of this sentiment became more apparent as Fox implemented a soft ban on Trump and began featuring DeSantis more frequently.

Additionally, during this time, the Dominion lawsuit loomed over the news corporation, prompting it to distance itself from the election controversy and thus steer clear of Trump.

Murdoch even expressed regret, stating that he would have preferred his anchors to be more assertive in denouncing Trump's election conspiracies that defined his campaigns. He was also quoted saying, "I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight," per the Independent.

Comment: Since 2020? The moguls are far ahead of the public.
Republican presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis vowed Friday to seek a repeal of President Trump's signature First Step Act, a bipartisan criminal justice reform bill that aimed to reduce recidivism, allowed a pathway for non-violent prisoners to shorten their sentences, and reduced mandatory minimum sentences.

DeSantis said in an interview with the Daily Wire:
"Under the Trump administration — he enacted a bill, basically a jailbreak bill, it's called the First Step Act. It has allowed dangerous people out of prison who have now re-offended, and really, really hurt a number of people.

"So one of the things I would want to do as president is go to Congress and seek the repeal of the First Step Act. If you are in jail, you should serve your time. And the idea that they're releasing people who have not been rehabilitated early, so that they can prey on people in our society is a huge, huge mistake."
DeSantis voted for the first version of the bill as a member of the House of Representatives in 2018, the same year he was elected as Florida's governor, but had resigned before the final, more moderate version of the bill came to a vote in the chamber.

Trump's campaign responded to DeSantis by pointing to his original vote, and argued he was basically criticizing his own supporters in Congress who also voted for the bill.

Trump campaign spokesperson Stephen Cheung tweeted following the DeSantis' interview:
"Lyin' Ron. He voted for the First Step Act. Would be a shame if there was video of him praising it in an interview with a local FL television station... Supporter [Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.] voted for the bill as well. DeSantis is calling out his own Congressional supporters and throwing them under the bus."
The slight from DeSantis is the latest in a series of ramped up criticism aimed at Trump after facing near constant attacks from the latter in recent weeks.

On Thursday, the governor torched Trump over the COVID-19-related lockdowns of 2020, and for what he described was Trump turning "the country over to [Dr. Anthony] Fauci." He also said he understood Trump was going after him because "he understands I'm the candidate who can beat him."

Early polls from before DeSantis launched his presidential campaign have consistently shown Trump with a commanding lead over the Republican field with DeSantis in a distant second.

Darren Beattie: The 'pipe bomber' unravels the whole J6 thing

Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, has been found guilty of "seditious conspiracy" for his involvement in the "Fedsurrection" at the US Capitol on January 6th. In a controversial twist of justice, he has been sentenced to 18 years in prison, highlighting the left's weaponization of the judicial system and their relentless mission to try to turn a "rowdy" protest into an insurrection.

AP:
Oath Keepers extremist group founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison for orchestrating a weekslong plot that culminated in his followers attacking the U.S. Capitol in a bid to keep President Joe Biden out of the White House after winning the 2020 election.

Rhodes, 58, is the first person convicted of seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack to receive his punishment, and his sentence is the longest handed down so far in the hundreds of Capitol riot cases.
Darren Beattie recently made an appearance on War Room where he shared his thoughts on the absurd Stewart Rhodes sentencing and its implications. According to Darren, such sentencing, along with similar cases, serves as a means for the government to lend "gravitas" to the January 6th event, which many Americans believe was orchestrated by federal authorities as a setup.

Comment: The pipe bomb ploy served the call for evacuation. Video: Beattie's argument has some merit.

Nancy Pelosi falls silent after claiming 'cold hard evidence' of Trump-Russia collusion

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been notedly silent following the final report from Special Counsel John Durham which completely debunked her claims of Trump-Russia collusion.

After the Durham report found the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law" during the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, Pelosi's office was bombarded by media requests.

The reason for Pelosi's silence?

Well, like her and other Democrats like Adam Schiff, she claimed she had "cold hard evidence" Trump's campaign played some role in working with Russia.

So where has Nancy Pelosi been hiding the evidence of the Trump-Russia collusion?

That's right, there is none, and Durham has now proved it.

Comment: Pelosi blasted for her silence on the Durham Report:
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is facing blowback:

Alabama GOP Sen. Tommy Tuberville declared the alleged targeting of Trump gives many Americans reason to question future elections and government agencies and said people need to go to jail.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan invited Durham to speak to his panel's select subcommittee on government weaponization next week. The Ohio Republican is also demanding accountability after he and many Republicans argued the report proves Trump was politically targeted.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik: "The long-awaited Durham Report confirmed what the American people already know; that individuals at the highest levels of government attempted to overthrow democracy when they illegally weaponized the federal government against Donald J. Trump."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy: "They took the entire country through this, impeachment, everything else when we knew the FBI never should have done this from the very beginning."

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner: "The report confirms that FBI personnel repeatedly disregarded critical protections established to protect the American people from unlawful surveillance. Such actions should never have occurred, and it is essential that Congress codifies clear guardrails that prevent future FBI abuses and restores the public's trust in our law enforcement institutions."

Germany believes Ukraine may be behind Nord Stream sabotage

gas leak
© UnknownGas leak from pipeline sabotage
Ever since the Nord Stream sabotage took place, I've argued that Ukraine is the most likely culprit.

It had a strong motive: eliminating Germany's incentive to defect from the pro-Ukraine coalition. It would have been much less risky for Ukraine than for either Russia or a NATO country. There's precedent: Ukraine has carried out numerous sabotage operations during the war. And in the summer of 2022, Germany was actually warned about a possible Ukrainian attack on the pipelines.

Back in March, various Western newspapers reported that "pro-Ukraine saboteurs" may have been responsible. Although there was "no evidence" that Zelensky or his top generals were involved, the saboteurs "might have connections to the Ukrainian Government or its security services", wrote the New York Times.

In its own reporting, the Times referred to a "suspected private sponsor, a Ukrainian not affiliated with President Zelensky's government", and claimed that his name "has been circulating in intelligence circles for months".

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) introduced a resolution proposing a $16 million fine for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for "egregious abuse of the trust of the American people" regarding his assertions of collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia during the 2016 election.

"It is the obligation of House Leadership to back up this motion for the American people and hold this feckless man accountable," Rep. Luna said in a statement. "This is a privileged resolution and it is the right thing for House Leadership to support and bring accountability and respect back to the House of Representatives. ALL Members of Congress must be held to this standard."

The proposed fine represents approximately half of the cost incurred by taxpayers for the federal investigation into alleged Trump-Russia collusion, which has been debunked by reports from special counsels Robert Mueller and John Durham.

Pentagon says China rejecting contact with US military

Washington says it's received no response from Beijing to a request for a meeting between the countries' defense chiefs

The Pentagon's attempts to reach out to China's military in recent months have been ignored or rebuffed, Ely Ratner, US Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs, has claimed.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin "believes in the importance of open lines of communication with the PRC [People's Republic of China] and we have sought to build out those open lines of communication. Unfortunately... we've had a lot of difficulty when we have proposed phone calls, meetings, dialogues," Ratner said during an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington on Thursday.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, along with the head of US Indo-Pacific Command Admiral, John Aquilino - and other uniformed and civilian officials - have asked Beijing for dialogue, but "those requests [were] rejected or not answered," he said.

Comment: Why would China want to talk to the Pentagon in the face of ongoing territorial insults and diplomatic disrespect? And why are Austin and Milley suddenly so concerned that China is ignoring them?

Africans know the nature and root causes of instability in their region themselves, says Russia's UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia

Russia does not consider it normal for peace and security in Africa to depend on irregular assistance from other countries, Vassily Nebenzia, the country's permanent representative to the UN, said on Thursday.

Speaking at a UN Security Council meeting on financing African Union peace support operations, the diplomat said that "Russia supports the position of African countries that effective measures are required to improve predictability, reliability and flexibility in this matter."

Comment: In other words, the West should pack their imperialist bags, go home and leave the various African nations to it. Russia respects the sovereignty of other nations as does China, whether or not they completely approve of their internal dynamics. That's why both countries are welcome on the African continent

Radical left threatens civilisation, says Macron

france police riots
Civilisation in France is unravelling amid widespread violence, the spread of conspiracy theories and the influence of radical Left-wingers dreaming of a new revolution, President Macron has said. The Times has the story.
Ministers are concerned about a breakdown in law and order since a spate of attacks on elected representatives plus incidents such as the deaths of three police officers in an accident caused by a driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the stabbing of a nurse by a psychiatric patient. ...

"No violence is legitimate, whether verbal or against people," Macron told the weekly cabinet meeting, according to an official summary. "We have to work in depth to counter this process of decivilisation."
