Radical left threatens civilisation, says Macron

france police riots
Civilisation in France is unravelling amid widespread violence, the spread of conspiracy theories and the influence of radical Left-wingers dreaming of a new revolution, President Macron has said. The Times has the story.
Ministers are concerned about a breakdown in law and order since a spate of attacks on elected representatives plus incidents such as the deaths of three police officers in an accident caused by a driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the stabbing of a nurse by a psychiatric patient. ...

"No violence is legitimate, whether verbal or against people," Macron told the weekly cabinet meeting, according to an official summary. "We have to work in depth to counter this process of decivilisation."

Saudia Arabia buying up Russian diesel, selling its own to Europe

Source: Kpler data, compiled by Bloomberg
Saudi Arabia is snapping up millions of barrels of Russian diesel that Europe no longer allows, while simultaneously sending its own supplies back to buyers in the EU.

The kingdom imported 174,000 barrels a day of the diesel and gasoil from Russia in April and even more so far this month, data compiled by Bloomberg from analytics firm Kpler show. Simultaneously, it became Europe's top supplier, leapfrogging Russia since February.

The Middle East country is not sending the same Russian fuel back to Europe as it's importing, which would be in breach of European Union sanctions.

Work at refineries was responsible for imports rising, a person familiar with the matter said. The extra exported fuels, which came from different parts of the country, were made to different specifications and often subject to long-term supply commitments, the person said.

Comment: And some of that diesel and gas being sold on to Europe is, essentially, Russian produce: Russian oil floods global markets via major Asian intermediaries

The next escalation in the war against Russia: US sends largest warship ever constructed to Norway

Following the Biden administration's announcement at last week's G7 meeting that it would send F-16 fighter aircraft to Ukraine, the US and its Ukrainian proxy forces have carried out a series of provocative actions aimed at further escalating the conflict.

As the Ukrainian military continues to suffer military setbacks on the ground — most clearly demonstrated by the fall of Bakhmut — the US and the NATO powers are preparing for the potential direct entry of air, land and sea forces into the conflict.

On Wednesday, the USS Gerald R. Ford arrived in Oslo, Norway. The USS Ford is the largest warship ever constructed and the first of a new generation of such carriers commissioned by the United States.

Russia outlines its conditions for a Ukraine peace deal

Kiev should rule out joining NATO and the EU and respect the rights of minorities, Moscow's deputy foreign minister says

The Ukraine conflict could be settled if Kiev were to re-commit to its neutral status, recognize "new territorial realities," and declare Russian as a state language, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said in an interview released on Saturday.

Speaking to TASS news agency, the diplomat said Moscow "is convinced that a peace settlement will be possible only if the Ukrainian armed forces cease hostilities, and Western weapons shipments are stopped."

He also stressed that to achieve a durable peace, Ukraine "must return to a neutral non-aligned status" and "refuse to join NATO and the EU," adding that Kiev should recognize the "new territorial realities" that emerged after people exercised their right to self-determination. The diplomat was referring to four former Ukrainian regions that overwhelmingly voted to join Russia in public referendums last autumn, as well as Crimea.

Comment: Nothing that Russia hasn't been asking for the last decade. Except that now, through the West's intransigence over its maniacal focus on destroying Russia, Ukraine has currently lost 20% of its territory and will likely lose more. It has lost more than half its population who fled the conflict, many for good, and at least two generations of the best skilled, productive men (because that's who gets conscripted) are now dead.

Even a peace may not save Ukraine as a viable country.

Former Obama official says he has evidence that Joe Biden 'is a criminal'

The Biden family is getting hit by an unlikely source as a former official in the Obama administration has come forward to allege that then-Vice President Joe Biden was involved in a "kickback scheme" with his son Hunter Biden's overseas business dealings.

Mike McCormick, who served as a stenographer for 15 years in the White House said that the FBI has been ignoring him even though he is willing to testify under oath before the federal grand jury investigating Biden's son.

He said:
"In February, I went to the FBI and filed one of their tips on their website. If you do that, and you're lying to them, you go to jail. I'm not lying. I'm telling the truth, and I'm not going to jail. Joe Biden is a criminal. He was conducting malfeasance in office to enrich his family. Jake Sullivan is a conspirator in that, and there's more... Obama officials involved in it, I believe."

Rand Paul gets to say 'I told you so' again

A year ago this month, Sen. Rand Paul held up a $40 billion spending package to Ukraine saying that the money needed oversight. He got a vote on his measure. It failed.

"It's irresponsible to shovel $40 billion out the door without knowing where it goes," Paul said at the time.

Politico reported on Friday:
"The Pentagon revealed last week that it overestimated the value of arms sent to Kyiv from existing stocks, which potentially allows the department to add $3 billion worth to the $2.7 billion left in the weapons account. Department officials were valuing the items using their 'replacement cost' rather than their 'net book value,' which was lower, Defense Department officials say."
Paul "says he will reintroduce his legislation calling for a dedicated Ukraine aid inspector general after the Pentagon disclosed that it miscalculated Ukraine aid by $3 billion," Politico reported.

BIG whoops.

One would not know it from looking at the S&P which just hit a 2023 high, but there is a bit of a bankruptcy crisis sweeping the US where companies are filing for bankruptcy at the fastest pace in 13 years, in a clear sign of a tightening credit squeeze as interest rates rise and financial markets have locked out all but the strongest borrowers.

The increase is most visible among large companies, where there were 236 bankruptcy filings in the first four months of this year, more than double 2022 levels, and the fastest YTD pace since 2010 according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Rein in the FBI: Put an end to the FBI's Gestapo tactics

"One of the creeping hands of totalitarianism running through the democracy is the Federal Bureau of Investigation... Because why does the FBI do all this? To scare the hell out of people... They work for the establishment and the corporations and the politicos to keep things as they are. And they want to frighten and chill the people who are trying to change things." — Howard Zinn, historian Power corrupts. We know this. In fact, we know this from experience learned the hard way at the hands of our own government.

So why is anyone surprised to learn that the FBI, one of the most power-hungry and corrupt agencies within the police state's vast complex of power-hungry and corrupt agencies, misused a massive government surveillance database more than 300,000 times in order to target American citizens?

This is how the government operates, after all.

First, they seek out extraordinary powers acquired in the wake of some national crisis — in this case, warrantless surveillance powers intended to help the government spy on foreign targets suspected of engaging in terrorism — and then they use those powers against the American people.

Elon Musk is right: Bellingcat is a Western 'psy-op' organization

Elon Musk
Elon Musk
The Twitter CEO draws establishment media outrage for criticizing a NATO state propaganda outfit.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has triggered headlines by claiming that the website Bellingcat, a trusted source for establishment US media outlets, engages in "psyops."

Musk invoked Bellingcat's role in "psychological operations" while expressing skepticism about the group's claims that the mass shooter in Allen, Texas was motivated by white supremacist views. Prominent voices came forward to defend Bellingcat as a "a great journalistic organization" (CNN anchor Jake Tapper), and "a treasure trove of hugely important investigative journalism" (Yale professor Timothy Snyder).

While the available evidence supports Bellingcat's findings about the Allen gunman, Musk is correct about the group overall. With complete uniformity, Bellingcat's media cheerleaders omit that the group is funded by NATO states and their contractors. And just as Musk suggested, Bellingcat has regularly promoted propaganda that advances its backers' foreign policy objectives.
