Anxiety and depression are dreadful things. Looking forwards to JP's recovery. He is a good man.Yeah. I hope he will pull through it! So bad to see him make lousy choices regarding his health. But knowing what his family is going through with illness and diet its no wonder. Their background makes them married to big pharma...
"We've been told that Dad will recover fully"Sorry to piss in your punch bowl, but the world is not short of anecdotals that suggest even after years of being clean, a lot of benzo inductees never properly recover, 'cause these sweeties can permanently screw the architecture of your brain.
but the world is not short of anecdotals that suggest even after years of being clean, a lot of benzo inductees never properly recover, 'cause these sweeties can permanently screw the architecture of your brain.Recovery depends on the person. Peterson is likely strong enough to handle it. He's been through a lot in his life and has kept on going. In a world full of armchair critics, he an admirable character who puts knowledge into action.
I don't think proselytising for big pharma so-called antidepressants is particularly admirable. Is that comment meant to be taken seriously? Because it isn't serious, by any stretch of the imagination.
Stop being an ass with this 'junkie' crap.Jordan Peterson is unable to stop being an ass with his junkie crap.
I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's also a very stupid guy....[Link] ....[Link]There's nothing "stupid" about taking anti-depressants when a person is unable to pull themselves out of the funk by themselves. For sure, it should be limited use and the less toxic pills the better, but this wholesale condemnation of anti-depressants in all cases is just ignorant.
Are you kidding me? Peterson's been a total junkie for at least a decade.More hyperbole. Is this meant to be measured, thoughtful input? Because it's not.
Highland Fleet Lute There's nothing "stupid" about taking anti-depressants when a person is unable to pull themselves out of the funk by themselves. For sure, it should be limited use and the less toxic pills the better, but this wholesale condemnation of anti-depressants in all cases is just ignorant. And putting your child on amphetamines is admirable, I suppose?
And putting your child on amphetamines is admirable, I suppose? Why don't YOU try living in excruciating pain for a few years and then see what YOU are willing to try. You're getting boring now.
No he ain't. Although Peterson does have admirable qualities, you and he covering for Peterson's huge stupiderer elephant is not admirable. What in GOD's NAME are you talking about? What "covering" are we doing? What do think this is, some kind of court of law or something? Do you think there's some kind of conspiracy going on here? What the HELL are you talking about? I don't know Peterson, never met him once, so I have neither an interest in or any ability to (if I so wished) to "cover" for him. You're making less and less sense as you double down on this, that should tell you something, but I won't hold my breath.
But then I'm not really expecting you to own your own sh*t in that regard, 'cause that's something you seldom do.Own what "shit"? What "shit" of "mine" is there to own? What the HELL are you talking about? Please tell, what is my track record in "not owning my own shit". Please make sure to specify first the "shit" that was "mine" that I didn't "own" and then tell me exactly how I did not "own" it.
More Peterson stupidery: Mikhaila's pre-carnivore drug diet... (7:04)....[Link]Dude, get a grip. When someone has a long list of ACTUAL physical illnesses then they are GOING to take certain drugs for those conditions and in the process discover what works and what doesn't. You clearly have no idea what it's like to live with multiple physical issues, if you did, you wouldn't be making these oversimplified judgements.
Speed?People will take what they're prescribed to see if it works. Like I said, not having been there, you're not in a position to judge.
Speed?Well maybe you're not, but I think I know what I'm talking about in regard to that particular subject, and I am in a position to judge.
Highland Fleet LuteAgreed. Peterson has talked about watching his daughter disintegrate before his very eyes and desperate to get her help so he took her to all sorts of medical professionals to help her. Throughout the years, Peterson has shown too much trust in the medical system and its professionals that he has been willing to take anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds and go with specialists advice for his daughter, but what alternative's are there sometimes?? Not everyone is up-to-date on every single potential pitfall in the world and even though all of us that read and contribute to SOTT know what's up in that regard, it doesn't mean we can take it for granted and point fingers at the foibles and errors in judgement of other people AND be a douche bag about it at the same time.More Peterson stupidery: Mikhaila's pre-carnivore drug diet... Agron I posted this a month ago. "If you wish to see the most cat-looking owl you've ever seen, check out this: [Link]
Here, our two big owls are the Barred Owl (does a four or eight note call "Who cooks for you? Who cooks for y'all?* ) You can get them to come to you if you can do a fair imitation.
The other is the Great Horned Owl.
I've never seen a Gyrfalcon, nor a Snowy Owl, but once I saw a perfectly camouflaged Winter Ptarmigan.

*Obviously a Southern Owl.

Agron - Ever heard of the Lyre bird? It is the master of sounds. Check this video out, truly astonishing! [Link]yeah among top weird bird sounds. Birds like to imitate too. Altho that barn owl screech really is a doosie, eh RC? Btw. I think that sound was used in LOTR as voices for 9 dead kings of mankind.
"He hears the ticking of the clocks; and walks along with a Magpie that talks; where the sailors all come in; maybe she'll pick him out again; how long must he wait? One more time for a simple twist of fate. " Dylan, Blood the Tracks album. So, en route to Santa Barbara, the magpie started hopping around in the box. Obviously better. I got to SBCC, which overlooks the sea. (beautiful place just inland from here https://www.google.com/maps/@34.4011726,-119.7008133,3a,75y,90.08h,90t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1sAF1QipOuUiHeQejOH2MQG6NnC0lU8JQI776XgM b6EyHg!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipOuUiHeQejOH2MQG6NnC0lU8JQI776XgM b6EyHg%3Dw203-h100-k-no-pi0-ya301.099-ro-0-fo100!7i3584!8i1792.) Girls on the lawn everywhere. I figured: "Well, let's see how 'maggie?' is doing," I brought the box out to a towel on the grass with a bear. I brought the bird out. S/He seemed OK. "Cool! No what am I going to start teaching it to say?"
( I apologize in advance...) BUT, here? Today? You ask? Not a cloud in the sky, dry, (lo humidity), high should be around 75F.RC
I am going biking where I usually (~ 70% of the time) see more eagles than people. (I'll think/hope up some good weather for y'all - though LM sounds happy with hers.)
Agron - I’ve seen that video. You sir, are a legend. Buff saidWhen people in need get this information it truly is a reason to be joyful, eh?
So, I was explaining to the neighbor how to find my house, ("just drive up the road and look straight up (for the tree that owns/rents me and covers the entire street) - so I demonstrate, lean my head back, and THEN! above me zaps the Second Bolide I've ever seen!* It was arcing from about the Zenith down to our SW, at about 70 degree angle. It was BEAUTIFUL (magnesium?) GREEN, on the outside with a bit of blue and white beneath it.. He saw the light out of the corner of his eye, but I was looking straight up 'for/at' it! AMAZING. I wouldn't be surprised if some sky cam caught it and we'll see it here shortly! I made a wish! The zone continues! LM Thanks!

[Link]This is very interesting!! Hes talking about same things as Alan Watts (mix of Buddhist/Hindu philosophy) but he has a deeper insight at physics of sub-consciousness, or so it seems! Love his Shakespeare references
