Dramatic footage has captured the moment a powerful tornado ripped through a Chinese city, uprooting trees, flattening streetlights and destroying cars.

At least 50 homes were damaged when the terrifying twister collided with buildings in Huludao city, in China's northeastern province of Liaoning, on August 25.

Footage filmed by a resident from inside their flat shows the air column rapidly gaining strength as it spiralled closer, sweeping debris up into the air.

The tornado lasted for about a minute but damaged more than 50 houses, uprooted trees, and knocked over street lights.

One person was injured and was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Stunning waterspout filmed in Madhya Pradesh, India

Visuals of a water spout at a dam in Madhya Pradesh, shot by villagers, have gone viral on social media.

The water spout was sighted on Monday at Devri dam in Sidhi district, around 500 km from state capital Bhopal.

A column of water from the dam almost appeared to touch the sky in mobile phone videos that have been shared on social media.

According to reports, the water spout formed after a storm around 4 pm and lasted for about 15 minutes before falling back into the dam. It was likened to a "water tornado" by many.

The spectacular sight drew scores of people from local villages.

Heavy rains fell across the island this morning and the north of Mallorca remains on bad weather alert.

Magalluf´s famous Punta Ballena street was hit hard with shops and bars reporting flood damage.

Eyewitnesses said that the rain-water was ankle high in some areas of Magalluf.

There was flooding in other parts of the island also with the fire brigade having to do with hundreds of calls.

Bangpoo Industrial Estate in Muang district of this coastal province south of Bangkok was heavily flooded, Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) governor Veeris Ammarapala said on Sunday.

Mr Veeris said the inundation began at about 2am after a long and heavy downpour. Many roads around the estate were flooded, including Sukhumvit, Srinakarin, Puttharaksa and Theparak.

The estate is located on a large area of about 5,400 rai at Moo 4 in tambon Phraeksa of Muang district.

The entire estate was about 1 metre under water, with numerous cars and motorcycles submerged.

At least seven people, including a newly-wed bride, were washed away in flash floods caused by heavy rainfall in several districts of Telangana.

In Vikarabad, newlyweds Pravalika and Nawaz Reddy were travelling with four others in a car while returning from a post-marriage function, when the new bride, her sister-in-law Shweta and her son, Thrinath Reddy, 8, were washed away. The boy has not yet been found.

After heavy rains, the body of a software engineer was found floating in a drain in Warangal on Sunday night. He has been identified as Vorrom Kranthi Kumar from Shivanagar. A laptop was also recovered.

Torrential rain of up to 90 mm in 1 hour fell in northern New Zealand, causing dozens of families to evacuate their homes.

Fifty to sixty homes were evacuated in West Auckland after flooding struck during the night 30 to 31 August 2021.

Auckland Mayor Phil Goff said people largely self evacuated and were staying with friends and family. Evacuation centres were also set up. Auckland Emergency Management said any need to evacuate overrides the COVID-19 lockdown rules.

As much as 90 mm of rain fell in 1 hour. However, Mayor Goff said the flooding was largely unexpected. "We knew it was going to rain... but there was no early indication that this was likely to cause the level of flooding it has."

Teenage girl killed while charging phone after home struck by lightning in Pará, Brazil - 3rd death in week for state

A teenage girl has died after being electrocuted when her home was struck by lightning while she was using her mobile phone as it charged.

Radja Ferreira de Oliveira's phone was plugged into the mains at her house in Santarem, Brazil, when it was hit by lightning in the early hours of Sunday.

At the moment it struck, the 18-year-old was using the device, and she received a severe electric shock and passed out.

Emergency services were called, but by the time the paramedics arrived on the scene, her family had already given her first aid and rushed her to hospital.

Sadly, Radja was pronounced dead on arrival.

Lightning strike at Jersey Shore kills lifeguard, injures 7

A young lifeguard was killed and seven other people, including three other lifeguards, were injured when lightning struck a Jersey Shore beach Monday afternoon, authorities said.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy confirmed that a lifeguard in Berkeley Township was killed in the afternoon.

It marked the second death of a young lifeguard at the Jersey Shore in a little over a week.

Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy said the others were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Two of family killed, four injured by lightning strike in Jharkhand, India

Two members of a family were killed and four others, including an infant, suffered injuries on Sunday when lightning struck them in a paddy field in Gumla district, the police said.

The incident took place in Jakjore village under Basia police station this evening, they said.

Durga Singh (45) and his daughter Pushpa Kumari (18) died on the spot after being struck by lightning in the field, police official (Basia), Vikash Anand Laguri, said.

Durga Singh's wife Sahodara Devi, daughters Bharti Kumari (8) and Punita Kumari (5), and a two-month-old infant were injured, he said, adding, they were rushed to a hospital.
