At least six people died, while nine others sustained injuries when lightning struck near Mithi after heavy rain coupled with a powerful thunderstorm pummelled the Thar region late on Monday.
The victims were heading towards a Hindu holy man, Parbharam, for offering annual rituals. They were residents of Mithi city and Satar village, near Mithi, according to reports reaching from Mithi.
Officials reached the spot and informed the media that at least nine others were injured in the incident, adding that all possible medical aid was being provided to them. The bodies, were handed over the families after completing the legal formalities.
Several streets were flooded, Monday afternoon, in Reșita, Caraș-Severin county, after a storm.
The cars were taken by the waters. Firefighters intervened. The authorities warn that there is a danger of flooding on several rivers in Timiș and Caraș-Severin counties.
A Code Orange warning has been issued.
According to ISU Caraș-Severin, fire crews operate in several locations in the municipality and the related neighborhoods to evacuate water from several households.
Italian firefighters say they have recovered four bodies from a northern Italian lake after a tourist boat capsized and sank in a sudden, violent storm.
The boat was reportedly carrying more than 20 people, including a group of foreign tourists celebrating a birthday, plus two crew members, when a whirlwind overturned the vessel on Sunday.
Firefighters said 19 passengers had been saved. Many reportedly managed to swim to shore, or were picked up by other boats after the boat overturned off Lisanza, at the southern end of Lake Maggiore.

At least a dozen people died and several were injured in separate incidents due to heavy rain and thunderstorm in Rajasthan's Tonk district, officials said on Friday.
Accompanied by gusty winds, heavy rain battered several places in the district on Thursday night, leading to the loss of human lives and damage to houses. A thunder squall with a maximum speed of 96 kmph was reported at the Jaipur International Airport.
Meanwhile, the MeT issued an orange alert at several places in the state on Friday, forecasting heavy rain and strong thunderstorms reaching a speed of 50-60 kmph. Some places could also witness a hailstorm.
Tonk District Collector Chinmayee Gopal said the 12 deaths were reported from across the Tonk district -- three in Tonk city, three in Niwai block, two each in Malpura and Devli and one each in Toda Rai Singh and Uniara. The injured persons have been admitted to different hospitals in the district, Gopal said.
High water due to significant flash flooding in Hereford and Deaf Smith is causing a dangerous situation.
A line of storms developed over Deaf Smith County on Friday night and stayed in the same areas for more than an hour, according to Storm Search 7 Chief Meteorologist Joe Puma.

At least 12 people were killed due to lightning strikes in different parts of Jharkhand over the past two days, an official said on Saturday.
Lightning strikes killed a woman and her daughter at Barwadda area of Dhanbad district, while two people died at Bahragora in Jamdhespur and Chirodih in Gumla district on Friday, the official said.
Another death was reported from Lohardagga. On Thursday seven people were killed. One death each was reported from Chatra, Hazaribag, Ranchi, Bokaro and Khunti districts and two at Hussainabad in Palamu.

While eastern Nebraska is begging for rain, parts of southwest Nebraska have seen way too much of it over the last 24 hours.
The National Weather Service has issued several Flash Flood Warnings for portions of Hitchcock, Hayes, and Red Willow Counties. Other Flood Warnings are in effect for parts of Dundy, Chase, Hayes, Hitchcock, Red Willow, and Frontier Counties in Southwest Nebraska.
Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have already produced as much as 5 to 10 inches of rain in the warned areas. Some of those areas may continue to receive additional heavy rainfall.
Captain Tyler Schmidt with NSP Troop D said the weather conditions are starting to improve allowing for the water to start to recede.
