Nope that's not snow; heavy hail fell across Boulder on Monday afternoon
Storms with hail, wind, lightning and rain hit the Denver metro area and Boulder on Monday.
The first storms formed about 10:30 a.m. in the southwest metro, around Morrison, Lakewood and Littleton. As of 11:50 a.m., radar shows the storm losing intensity as it moves north and east. Some areas picked up about a half-inch of rain, possibly with localized flash flooding in low-lying areas.
Just before noon, the Colorado Department of Transportation closed 6th Avenue at Perry Street due to flooding.
About 12:15 p.m. another storm was building in Boulder County, with rain and hail for Boulder, Louisville, Gold Hill, Sugarloaf and Eldorado Springs. Photos and video shared on social media showed heavy hail in Boulder.
