More than a hundred thousand were without power Wednesday night as severe weather produced tornadoes, high winds and large hail that prompted more than 250 storm reports in the South.

As of 3 a.m. ET, more than 135,000 homes and businesses in the region were in the dark across in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas, according to tracking site PowerOutage.us.

There were at least eight tornado reports and 85 reports of hail, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Almost 10 million people were under severe thunderstorm watch, meaning the risk of hazardous weather was high but where and when the storm will hit are uncertain.

Parts of central Arkansas were impacted by large hail as severe thunderstorms rolled through the region on Wednesday, June 14. Video recorded from inside a home in Hot Springs, shows large hail stones battering the surface of Lake Hamilton. The National Weather Service warned of baseball-sized hail and winds up to 70mph across the region.

A blizzard Monday at the summit of America's Mountain will be a day one Colorado ranger says he will never forget.

"One of the most stressful days I've had at work in a long time," said ranger Stephen "Pete" Peterson, who captured footage of whiteout conditions in June on Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs. "A day I'll never forget!"

Peterson arrived at the 14,000-foot summit at noon and then, "BAM!" he detailed in a post on social media.

"A major storm erupts, and we're in blizzard conditions within minutes," he said as the storm forced evacuations due to the heavy snow and winds topping 50 mph. "We had 20-30 cars up on and near summit who were all leaving just as the blizzard arrived."

Landslides and flash floods, triggered by heavy rain that lashed the state since June 13 evening, have been reported in different locations in South West Khasi Hills district.

In one incident, a school - Khlur Rit Government LP School and a house, belonging to one Jopcy Wanniang, at Mawpun village were damaged in a landslide that occurred in the wee hours of June 14 around 1.30 am.

Fortunately, no casualty was reported.

Mudflows flooded the yards of houses in Aksy district of Jalal-Abad region, district head Zamirbek Sydykov said.

Road connecting Tash Komur-Kara Jygach-Kerben-Ala Buka, which had been temporarily closed due to the mudflows, has now been reopened.

"On June 14, at approximately 5:50 pm, heavy rainfall triggered mudflows in Kyzyl-Tuu, Kara-Jygach, and Kara-Suu areas of Aksy district. This natural disaster caused a disruption in car traffic for approximately 5-8 km on the Kara-Jygach-Sary-Chelek road, particularly in the village of Kyzyl-Tuu. Yards of three residential buildings were flooded due to the mudflows," Sydykov explained.

Moreover, at two locations of Tash Komur-Kara Jygach-Kerben-Ala Buka road, the path was obstructed by floodwaters containing a mixture of sand, gravel, and rocks. Additionally, the yards of three houses were flooded.

Lightning kills referee during match in Niger, Nigeria

A Nigerian referee was killed by lightning on Tuesday during a friendly football match in Madalla, Niger State.

The deceased, popularly known as Mustafa Coach 02 among football fans and a member of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) met his tragic death during a match played on the field of the community's schools.

Muhammed Musa, an eyewitness, said the match, in which Madalla and Suleja youths participated, was on a half-time break at 5:20 pm when the tragedy occurred.

No casualties have been reported yet.

A powerful dust storm ploughed through Karachi's Sohrab Goth and other areas on Tuesday afternoon, disrupting the movement of the traffic and affecting the visibility of the commuters.

A resident of the Kaneez Fatima area near Sohrab Goth said the dust storm gripped the area all of a sudden, and visibility was almost zero. "We were inhaling dust," she said.

Apart from this, gusty winds kept blowing throughout the city, bringing dust from the outside inside homes. Gulshan-e-Iqbal resident Shahida Asal said she had closed all the doors and windows of her house, yet dust found its way inside.

Lightning strike kills two in Assam, India

Two men died after lightning struck in Biswanath Chariali on Monday night.

The incident took place at Mahalakshmi Tea Estate in Biswanath.

The deceased identified as Anand Khandwal and Ramesh Kar was at their work when the tragic incident took place.

After being struck by lightning, locals took them to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead.
