Intense explosive activity of the volcano continues characterized by near-constant eruptions.

Strombolian explosions become stronger than the average size of explosions at the volcano and more frequent at regular intervals of 2 to 4 per hour during the past few weeks.

An explosions generated an ash plumes which reached approx. 1,968 ft-3,937 ft (600 m-1,200 m) altitude and drifted SW.

Some of a lava bombs were ejected as far as 800 m away from the crater.

An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 hit Bárðarbunga volcano, under the ice cap of Vatnajökull glacier, yesterday at 11:37 am, mbl.is reports. Its source was at a depth of 1.7 km (one mile), 5 km (3.1 mi) southeast of Bárðarbunga.

Ten seconds before the earthquake hit, a tremor of magnitude 2.8 registered.

A spectacular vulcanic explosion occurred from the crater at 12:20 local time today as volcanological observatory KVERT reported.

Plume of ash rose to an altitude of 16,000 ft (4,876 m) and formed relatively large umbrella region in the upper part of the eruption column as can be seen in the image.

A few hours later, at 19:30 local time on today evening, another strong explosion detected by Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Tokyo produced spectacular ash plume rising up to 28,000 ft (8,500 m) altitude and extended about 130 km to the southeast of the volcano.

Mount Etna's volcanic activity is continuing with a second powerful eruption following the first last week.

As reported by volcanologist Boris Behncke, who is studying Etna, the second eruption consisted of new lava fountaining ocurring at the Southeast Crater.

This new period of activity occurred in the early morning hours of December 22 and could be seen from the nearby village of Tremestieri Etneo.

Even in the face of such insurmountable odds, the powers-that-be are continuing to push their anthropogenic global warming narrative.

Record-breaking cold has swept large swathes of the planet of late: from Alaska to the Alps; from India to Iceland; and from Australia to Russia, unprecedented lows have been rewriting the record books.

Currently in Russia, an immense mass of debilitating cold is gripping 80+ percent of the 17.1 million km² transcontinental nation, cold that is only set to expand and intensify as the holiday season nears.

Temperatures across central and eastern areas have plunged more than 20C below the seasonal average as Arctic air rides anomalously-far south on the back of a weak and wavy Meridional jet stream flow. In Russia in particular, 20C below the seasonal average is not to be taken lightly. The mercury is challenging lows of -50C (-58F) and even -60C (-76F), some of the coldest temperatures ever recorded in the Northern Hemisphere.

Landslide after incessant rainfall at central Philippine mine pit kills 4, 6 missing

Rescue efforts are underway at a mining pit in Cebu province of the central Philippines to find six miners buried by a landslide that killed at least four, the mining company said on Tuesday.

Carmen Copper Corporation (CCC), the operator of the mining site located in Toledo city in the Cebu province, said the disaster occurred in its pit around 4:15 p.m. local time on Monday.

Search and rescue operation began Tuesday morning as the ground was still shaky hours after the landslide, the company said in a statement.

Residents of the bucolic towns of Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda have long known to guard their pets and backyards from coyotes prowling in the shadows, behind trees and around garbage bins.

"They howl behind my house every night," said Melodi Dewey, a Lafayette resident. "There's a pack of them on the other side of my fence. I have to keep my dogs from going outside at night."

But Dewey and others in the Contra Costa County area dubbed Lamorinda are warier than ever these days and just as surprised as wildlife officials after a string of coyote attacks this year left three people bitten and injured, the latest one Tuesday behind Diablo Foods in Lafayette.

And what's particularly alarming is that the same coyote is responsible for all three attacks, according to authorities. Lab results showed Thursday the DNA in the saliva around the latest victim's wounds matched the DNA found in previous attacks.

Although California Department of Fish and Wildlife officials have trapped and killed four coyotes in the area within the past couple of weeks, they have not yet caught the culprit in Tuesday's attack and those on Dec. 4 at Campolindo High School in Moraga and in July not too far from Moraga Commons Park.

A 74-year-old Italian woman died after her five half-wolf dogs mauled her inside herown apartment.

Mariangela Zaffino, a pensioner who stays mostly in her flat in Grugliasco town, which is near Turin in Italy, was found dead by her daughter in her own apartment. The investigation pointed to her five pet Czechoslovakian wolfdogs as the culprits behind her death.

The old woman was attacked by her pets for reasons still unknown to investigators. Her daughter said that her mother's dogs were a cross between German shepherds and wild wolves, and that they have many wolfish characteristics. She told The Telegraph that the five dogs did not show any signs of aggression before.
