The lavish deliveries of 'lethal aid' from the US, UK and other NATO countries to Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia have led to marketplaces where some of those weapons can be purchased popping up on the dark web, RT Russian has learned.

The Ukrainian traders claim to offer not just small arms or body armor there, but also such sophisticated hardware as Javelin and NLAW anti-tank systems or Phoenix Ghost and Switchblade explosive drones.

Governor demands ALL Washington state employees be subject to Covid vaccine, booster requirements in perpetuity

"As a condition of employment, all new employees of state agencies must be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the most up-to-date vaccination, including any additional doses or boosters, as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)."
Washington's Democrat Governor Jay Inslee issued a directive Thursday making Covid vaccines & boosters a permanent condition of employment for state workers in executive and small cabinet agencies. The new directive is stricter than many healthcare facilities and sparked concerns that it may cause more staffing shortages, especially for first responders and transportation employees.

Inslee, who has had emergency powers for 852 days, wrote in the directive, "vaccines are effective in reducing infection and serious disease," but tested positive for the virus himself last month.

Comment: It's way past time to end this farce.

NY overhauls handgun rules in effort to preserve some limits

New York lawmakers approved a sweeping overhaul Friday of the state's handgun licensing rules, seeking to preserve some limits on firearms after the Supreme Court ruled that most people have a right to carry a handgun for personal protection.

The measure, signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul after passing both chambers by wide margins, is almost sure to draw more legal challenges from gun rights advocates who say the state is still putting too many restrictions on who can get guns and where they can carry them.

Hochul, a Democrat, called the Democrat-controlled Legislature back to Albany to work on the law after last week's high-court ruling overturning the state's longstanding licensing restrictions.

Backers said the law, which takes effect Sept. 1, strikes the right balance between complying with the Supreme Court's ruling and keeping weapons out of the hands of people likely to use them recklessly or with criminal intent. But some Republican lawmakers, opposed to tighter restrictions, argued the law violated the constitutional right to bear arms. They predicted it too would end up being overturned.

Police admitted to snooping - activists

Canada's Royal Mounted Police (RCMP) have disclosed that they use spyware to infiltrate mobile devices and collect data, according to a public statement made on Thursday by a Canadian rights organization.

The country's Civil Liberties Association (CCLA) claims it found the revelation buried in a document presented to the Canadian Parliament on June 22, 2022. The RCMP's admission reportedly came in response to lawmakers questioning the government's use of surveillance on Canadian citizens. As stated by the CCLA, this marks the first time a police service in Canada has openly admitted to using controversial and invasive surveillance tools in targeted investigations.

The document was previously reported by Politico, which stated that the RCMP's Covert Access and Intercept Team (CAIT) used "on-Device Investigative Tools" to remotely collect texts, emails, photos, videos, financial information and even turn on microphones and cameras remotely on target devices. The process was reportedly used only after obtaining a warrant, and implemented in 10 investigations between 2018 and 2020. It is also noted that Canada's privacy commissioner was not consulted on the use of such methods.

Comment: The tip of the surveillance iceberg, no doubt.

Julian Assange files new appeal fighting extradition to US

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is appealing the United Kingdom's order to extradite him to the United States.

Two appeals were filed in the High Court of Justice in London to challenge the extradition, and the court will decide whether to evaluate the case, Assange's attorney Gareth Peirce announced, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Last month, British Home Secretary Priti Patel signed an order to extradite Assange. The WikiLeaks founder is facing 18 charges, including espionage charges in the U.S. for major document leaks in 2010 and 2011 pertaining to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Comment: Human rights seems to be a dying concept in the hands of Justice. There is little doubt Assange will suffer with extradition:
Home Secretary Priti Patel approved his extradition, with her office saying British courts had concluded his extradition would not be incompatible with his human rights, and that he would be treated appropriately.

Assange's brother, Gabriel Shipton confirmed the appeal at the High Court. He said "We also urge the Australian government to intervene immediately in the case to end this nightmare."

He told Reuters the appeal would include new information not previously taken to the courts, including claims made in a report last year of plans to assassinate him.

RSF urges the Ukrainian authorities to lift arbitrary restrictions on reporters in the field

"In a democratic country, war is no reason to hamper the work of journalists," said Jeanne Cavelier, the head of RSF's Eastern Europe and Central Asia desk.
"Restrictions linked to national security are legitimate but must be proportionate. In view of the interference observed in the field, we urge the Ukrainian government to issue clear directives on reporting conditions and to ensure that they are respected by all the forces involved."
The approximately 9,000 local and foreign journalists who are accredited as war reporters with the Ukrainian authorities must undertake to follow certain rules. These rules include not revealing the names of units or their location, not filming military installations, waiting several hours before reporting a missile strike or bombardment, and coordinating their movements in combat zones with the armed forces, etc.

Comment: The Ukraine government's harassment and silencing journalists has been a problem since the U.S.-backed coup in 2014.

Murder by malnutrition: Vegan mother is found guilty when he died after being fed diet of only raw fruit and vegetables

A vegan mother has been found guilty of murder for the death of her 18-month-old son who weighed just 17lbs when he died in 2019 after a short life being fed only fruit, vegetables and breastmilk.

Sheila O'Leary, 39, was convicted of a jury in Cape Coral, Florida, on Tuesday after a week-long trial. She is now facing life behind bars and will be sentenced on July 25. Her son Ezra died in 2019 from complications caused by malnutrition.

Doctors found he hadn't been fed for a week by the time he died in September 2019.

Comment: "Feeding" a child according to a lunatic ideology is pure evil.

Best of the Web: Jordan Peterson: I'd rather die than delete truthful tweet for cancel creeps

jordan peterson daily wire

A few days ago, I penned an irritated tweet in response to one of the latest happenings on the increasingly heated culture war front in response to the decision of an actress (actor) named Ellen (Elliot) Page. I am employing this awkward and impossible multiple-naming style because it is now apparently mandatory — and probably doing it wrong, nonetheless, as "you're doing it wrong" is the whole point of what has been made mandatory — but also to make a point.

I have essentially been banned from Twitter as a consequence. I say banned, although technically I have been suspended. But the suspension will not be lifted unless I delete the "hateful" tweet in question, and I would rather die than do that. And hopefully it will not come to that, although who the hell knows in these increasingly strange days?

New York City Mayor says he will mandate COVID vaccines for children this fall

nyc mayor eric adams
New York City has famously handled COVID as poorly as any city on earth.

From the initial surge and horrific death rates due in part to sending COVID positive patients back into nursing homes to infect other elderly residents, to masking toddlers, to private business vaccine mandates and discriminatory vaccine passports, New York has been a leading example of what not to do.

While former mayor Bill de Blasio was responsible for many of the city's terrible policies, current mayor Eric Adams has made a concerted effort to double down and make them even worse.
