The second US civil war?

Abbott
© Joe Timmerman/The Texas TribuneGov. Greg Abbott displays Senate Bill 1900, one of six bills he signed during a legislation signing ceremony in Austin on June 8, 2023
We may well be witnessing a pivotal moment in history - a letter of support for Texas Governor Abbott, in his defiance of the federal regime, has been published and signed by governors of half the states in the very disunited United States.

These governors have also offered to send their National Guard troops to Texas, to support the Texas National Guard. What was just last week a legal dispute between the governor of Texas and the federal regime has now become a very real confrontation between Washington and 25 states. These states include all of the states who joined the Confederacy in the US Civil War, as well as some states that were on the Yankee side, and other states that were not even states back in 1861.

Comment: Did Biden think he wouldn't be challenged on his refusals to protect the country he was sworn to do?

War on Gaza: Starmer rewards Israel's genocide with a veto on Palestinian statehood

Starmer
© AFPKen Starmer, leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party • Bristol • January 4, 2024
The Labour leader's U-turn is returning UK politics to an era of make-believe peacemaking - a stalling tactic as Palestinians are starved and slaughtered...

Israel's government is widely understood to be the most extreme in its history, stuffed with religious bigots and self-declared fascists, and is currently carrying out a genocidal, scorched-earth policy against the 2.3 million Palestinians of Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who needs the slaughter to continue to keep himself out of jail, has boasted that he is more determined than ever to prevent a Palestinian state from emerging.

Gaza's destruction - in which more than 100,000 Palestinians have so far been either killed or seriously wounded, and two-thirds of the enclave's homes pounded into ruins - appears to be integral to that strategy.

And yet, extraordinarily, Keir Starmer, Britain's opposition leader, has chosen this moment to declare that, from now on, the Labour Party's policy on Palestinian statehood will be dictated to it by the pariah state of Israel.

Reversing Labour's stance under his two predecessors, Ed Miliband and Jeremy Corbyn, who promised to immediately recognise a Palestinian state on winning power, Starmer told a meeting last week that such recognition would occur only as "part of a process" of peace talks involving Israel and other states.

Some 139 nations have recognised Palestine as a state at the United Nations, but Britain - as well as the United States - is not among them.

Hunter partner Rob Walker confirms payments to Biden family from China deal began when Joe was VP

Walker was closely involved with Hunter Biden's initial dealings with CEFC China Energy, the same company that sent millions to the Biden family.

Hunter Biden associate Rob Walker appeared for a transcribed interview with the House Oversight Committee Friday as the latest witness in the impeachment inquiry and weeks before Hunter Biden is set to testify.

According to a source familiar with Walker's testimony, he confirmed reports that Hunter Biden's work for the Chinese energy company CEFC began while Joe Biden was still Vice President, in 2015.

In December, Just the News reported that the impeachment inquiry had assembled a growing body of evidence that Hunter's work with the Chinese energy company started years before its million dollar payments began to flow into the Biden family coffers in 2017, following Joe Biden's departure from office.

"Today we learned that Joe Biden met with the now-missing Chairman of CEFC, Ye Jianming, as Hunter Biden and his associates received $3 million from a Chinese entity CEFC controlled. Evidence continues to reveal the Bidens sold the 'Biden Brand' to enrich the Biden family," Oversight Chairman James Comer said in a statement released by the Oversight Committee.

Will a South African victory stop the Gaza Genocide?

Chief Israeli Psycho
© Strategic Culture Foundation
Let's cut to the chase:

By 15-2, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has just ruled in favor of BRICS member South Africa, and ordered Israel to take all necessary measures to prevent a genocide in Gaza.

When it comes to the most scrutinized genocide ever, followed 24/7 by every smartphone on the planet, it's fair to argue that South Africa has just scored an astonishing win against Zionism.

And yet, as a Global Cynic Armada argues, in practical terms there has been no call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Of course it may also be argued that calling for a ceasefire only applies to a war - as in the case of the proxy war in Ukraine. Gaza is a case of genocide of an indigenous population perpetrated by an occupying power. That calls for an immediate halt to all genocidal acts. Essentially this is what the ICJ has ordered.

The South African Foreign Ministry has noted that "if one reads the sentence, it's implicit" that a ceasefire must be imposed.

The inestimable former British ambassador Craig Murray has noted that "after an extremely damning exposition of the facts by South Africa", powerfully "and meticulously well stated", conclusions were inevitable.

These are the highlights:

"The military operation conducted by Israel in Gaza has resulted in untold death and injuries, destroyed substantial infrastructure and housing units, caused mass malnutrition, collapsed the healthcare system, and displaced the majority of its inhabitants. This war has affected the entire population of Gaza and will have far lasting consequences. The court has taken note of the language of dehumanization by senior Israeli government officials."

Hence the ICJ "accepts the South African demand for urgent provisional measures to be taken for the protection of Palestinians in Gaza against Israel and recommends" (italics mine) the following:

By 15-2: "The state of Israel shall take all measures to prevent the commission of genocide to Gaza."

By 15-2: "The state of Israel shall ensure that the military not commit any acts of genocide."

By 16-1: "Israel shall take all measures to punish all public solicitations to genocide."

By 16-1: "Israel shall take immediate and effective measures to address adverse conditions to life in the Gaza Strip".

By 15-2: "Israel shall take effective measures to preserve evidence of actions impacting the Genocide Convention."

By 15-2: "Israel shall submit to the court a report of all measures taken to follow the orders of this court within one month."

Failing Systems

Earlier this month I wrote about the Robert v. Austin case filed by a legal team led by Andrew L. Schlafly, Todd Callender, David Wilson and Lisa McGee (link to article: C0VlD l9 hoax goes to court). The case was profoundly important because it confronted the judiciary with questions that cut to the core of human dignity and liberty. The courts would have to hear evidence and rule about whether individuals who received C19 shots could be regarded as chattel property with no human or constitutional rights.

Petition denied

The question is profoundly chilling and it may seem surreal, but the law is far from clear in this respect. According to the 2013 Supreme Court ruling in the Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics, Inc., gene modified organisms may legally be regarded as synthetic species. Gene modification renders such organisms property of patent holders who own the intellectual property rights over the newly synthesized genes. The implication of that decision is that genetically modified humans could be the property of MRNA technology patent holders.

Given the importance of these questions, one would expect the judiciary to hear the petitioners' arguments, examine the evidence and remove any ambiguities with a clear endorsement of human dignity and a categorical proscription of ownership of any individual. But district and appellate courts repeatedly refused to hear the evidence and dismissed the case, as ordered by the US Defense Department. But the petitioners pursued their cause to the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). On January 5, a panel of judges began their deliberations about whether to hear the case or not. Such deliberations can go on for weeks, but it took only 3 days for them to reach their decision: "petition denied."

British intel agencies' lack of China 'language, historical, cultural' knowledge impeding operations - Former MI6 boss

Nick Inkster chatham house
Nick Inkster, who spent 31 years at MI6, said that the UK lacked the skills to manage threats from China, while Beijing was stepping up its human intelligence collection operations under 'no political restraints'
The former deputy head of MI6 has warned that the British intelligence service is not equipped to handle covert threats from China.

Nigel Inkster said his concerns stem from the basis that MI6 'clearly does have difficulties, in terms of language expertise and collective general historical and cultural awareness' when it comes to China.

He told the i: 'In 2015, the British government was talking about a 'golden era' of UK-China relations... Given that situation, it's perhaps unsurprising that the security service isn't where it might be.'

Comment: The pathological British establishment is tying itself up in knots struggling to 'understand' China, because it can but view it through its own warped lens; despite the fact that, when compared to the duplicitous West, China tends to be frank and stand by its word.

Furthermore, this proclaimed desire to 'understand' China, might be better understood as the UK diverting masses amounts of resources into learning it can undermine, and overthrow, China's government.

'It's foolish': Alan Dershowitz slams Biden for border crisis response

Alan Dershowitz

Former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz slammed the Biden Administration for its actions against Texas Friday, calling it a "foolish" move as the border crisis continues.

Dershowitz appeared on "Hannity" to discuss the recent battle between state officials and the federal government over Texas' border. Fox host Sean Hannity questioned the former law professor on his thoughts regarding the recent move by the Biden Administration demanding that the state hand over border areas.

Dershowitz stated that it was not only a "foolish act by the president," but constitutionally and politically the demands were not wise. The former law professor called out the power grab between states' rights and "federal power," highlighting the debate two founding fathers would potentially have on the issue.

Britain, Italy and Finland 'pause' funding for UN refugee agency in Gaza, day after ICJ Gaza genocide ruling against Israel

Britain, Italy and Finland on Saturday became the latest countries to pause funding for the United Nations' refugee agency for Palestinians (UNRWA), following allegations its staff were involved in the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel, Reuters reports.

Comment: It's just a coincidence that it comes a day following the UN ICJ ruling on Israel's genocide in Gaza?

Set up to help refugees of the 1948 war at Israel's founding, UNRWA provides education, health and aid services to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. It helps about two thirds of Gaza's 2.3 million population and has played a pivotal aid role during the current war.

The United States, Australia and Canada had already paused funding to the aid agency after Israel said 12 UNRWA employees were involved in the cross-border attack. The agency has opened an investigation into several employees severed ties with them.

Comment: Israel's own media have acknowledged that not only was the IDF given a stand down order, but that its own forces are responsible for the death of a significant number of those killed on Oct 7.

Comment: One can only hope that the virtuous nations in the multipolar world, like Russia and China, will take up the responsibility to help the Palestinians, exposing the sinister and petty Western establishment for what it is.
