Auntie Maxine's latest rant: Tensions in Syria are phony, Trump and Putin are 'tied at the hip'

Maxine Waters
Maxine Waters
Maxine Waters believes that Putin and Trump are "tied at the hip."

Maxine Waters' rants have moved from troubling to idiotic to now simply entertaining.

The Duran has documented Waters' lunacy and panic over the nefarious connection between Trump and Putin (two people that have never met in person, ever), but this latest explanation as to why Trump illegally launched 59 Tomahawks into Syria is about as nutty, and stupid as it can get...but we have to admit that it is entertaining listening to this US Congresswoman make a fool of herself and her Democrat party in spectacular fashion.

Watching the video is believing. We wonder if uber liberal left Huffington Post believes this Waters' rant, or if they are shocked at her stupidity as we are.

Top UK government lawyer seeking to block prosecution of Tony Blair over Iraq War

UK Attorney General Jeremy Wright QC is prepared to go to court to demand that former Prime Minister Tony Blair not be prosecuted over the Iraq war, according to a report.

The planned move by the attorney general follows a judge's ruling last year that Blair has immunity from criminal charges over Iraq, and that pursuing a prosecution could "involve details being disclosed under the Official Secrets Act," the Guardian reported.

The private prosecution concerns the 2003 invasion of Iraq, seeking the trial of then-Prime Minister Blair, then-Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, and then-Attorney General Lord Goldsmith for the crime of "aggression," the newspaper reported.

Russia and China send spy ships to monitor US fleet near Korean peninsula

CCB-516

In what appears to be both a coordinated move and a warning to Washington, China and Russia send spy ships to track Carl Vinson.

As the US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson and its accompanying escort ships come within striking distance of North Korea, a Japanese newspaper, Yomiuri Shimbun, is reporting that Russia and China have sent spy ships to monitor their movements.

Yomiuri Shimbun says it has been provided with this information by "numerous sources within the Japanese government". The Japanese government would be well-informed about this situation because some of its own warships have joined the task force led by Carl Vinson.

It is not unusual for the Russians and the Chinese to send spy ships to monitor the activities of the US navy, though because of the vastly enhanced means of surveillance possible today by satellites and by other means the days when the USSR was forced to maintain a vast fleet of spy ships consisting of converted trawlers to keep track of what the US navy was doing are long past. As Yomiuri Shimbun says:
The dispatch of the intelligence-gathering vessels appears to be partly aimed at sending a warning signal to the United States

The Federal Reserve is, and always has been, politicized

 federal reserve
Audit the Fed recently took a step closer to becoming law, when it was favorably reported by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. This means the House could vote on the bill at any time. The bill passed by voice vote without any objections, although Fed defenders did launch hysterical attacks on the bill during the debate as well as at a hearing on the bill the previous week.

One representative claimed that auditing the Fed would result in rising interest rates, a stock market crash, a decline in the dollar's value, and a complete loss of confidence in the US economy. Those who understand economics know that all of this is actually what awaits America unless we change our monetary policy. Passing the audit bill is the vital first step in that process, since an audit can provide Congress a road map to changing the fiat currency system.

Assad points out the obvious: No gloves, masks or sarin; gas attack first responders either liars or wizards

white helmets no gloves sarin
White Helmets are Hogwarts-trained wizards
No gloves, no masks, no sarin: That's usually how it works โ€” unless you want to be a brave but very dead first responder

Syrian President Bashar Assad made an extremely rude and wonderful observation on Thursday during an interview that was heavily edited by responsible western news outlets.

Here's Assad, pointing out what is painfully obvious:
The fabricated videos that we've been seeing in Khan Sheikhoun when the rescuers try to rescue the victims โ€” or the supposedly dead people or inflicted people โ€” but actually, they weren't wearing any masks, or any gloves. How? Where is the sarin? They should be effected right away.
We've written about this oddity before, but it's definitely worth repeating: The White Helmets are extremely brave for diving headfirst into a sarin swamp without even basic protective gear such as "gloves".

Serbia needs two divisions of Russian-made S-300 surface-to-air missile systems and a command post to protect its airspace, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said. A possible purchase is apparently being discussed with Russia and Belarus.

Vucic told reporters on Sunday that he has personally discussed buying S-300s with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

"There is no agreement concerning the S-300. I mentioned it during the talks with President Putin, and we talked about it. We discussed it with President Lukashenko as well," he said.

Trump's Drug Czar Choice Exposed For Being on Big Pharma's Payroll

Big Pharma
President Donald Trump's reported choice to serve as Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy has raised alarm concerning conflict of interest, as his top pick has been criticized for protecting and benefiting from the pharmaceutical industry.

The ONDCP is responsible for most of the shaping of U.S. drug policy and will also be "providing administrative support" for Trump's newly-created special commission to combat the opiate crisis. Trump's top choice, Pennsylvania Congressman Tom Marino, is expected to resign from Congress to become the country's "drug czar."

For those who seek to genuinely hold the pharmaceutical industry accountable for its role in the country's opiate crisis, Marino is a perilous choice. The International Business Times has uncovered troubling background of Marino's relationship with the pharmaceutical industry, particularly regarding donations.

According to IBT, Marino "would come to the job after pulling in big money from an industry that is producing and distributing the nation's most deadly legal drugs. Marino has received more than $150,000 in donations from the pharmaceutical industry in his political career, including $71,000 for the 2016 election, according to records at Maplight.org and Opensecrets.org. The data show Marino has received more money from the pharmaceutical industry than any other sector."

The US is mistaken in relying on China to pressure North Korea

China Korea
© Stephens
China will always resist pressure to undermine the regime in Pyongyang because China's prestige and the internal stability of China's government are bound up with its survival.

President Trump's tweet that he is not declaring China a currency manipulator because of China's help in stopping the North Korean programme has a distinct smell of blackmail about it. It implies that if Trump judges that China is not being 'helpful' with North Korea, he will retaliate by declaring China a currency manipulator.

That this is a wholly misconceived threat should be obvious. Either China manipulates its currency or it does not. There is no logic to connecting this question to the wholly separate question of China's relationship with North Korea, and it discredits the stance of the US on the important currency question by saying there is.

Making this sort of threat merely shows up once again this President's inexperience and lack of understanding of international diplomacy, and his mistake in applying the entirely different lessons he learnt in running his business to the very different world of international diplomacy.

Bill Kristol celebrates 'normal' foreign policy with Russia replacing Iraq in the new 'axis of evil'

Bill Kristol
I used to think the Bush administration was the heyday of Bill Kristol, but recent days have been very good for the neoconservative, as Donald Trump bombs Syria and Afghanistan and threatens North Korea too. Kristol was on Andrea Mitchell's broadcast Friday afternoon celebrating the return of a "normal" foreign policy - military engagement in the Middle East.

The former leader of the Never Trump movement among Republicans was thrilled by Trump's black-and-white characterization of Russia and Syria on Fox. "Putin is backing a person that is truly an evil person. I think it's very bad for Russia, I think it's very bad for mankind." Kristol tried out a new/old phrase:
You could almost say that Russia, Iran & Syria constitute an axis of evil persecuting their own citizens & threatening the civilized world.
