It's all over but the crying: 'Fate of terrorists in Syria is sealed' says Russian Deputy DM

Syrian government forces with Russian aerial support have completely liberated the city of Deir ez-Zor, the last Daesh stronghold in the country, opening the final stage in the fight against the terrorist group.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said Monday that in his opinion nobody questions the role of the Russian Aerospace Forces supporting Syria's ground troops in the successes of the counter-terrorist fight. The offensive in southeastern Syria along the Euphrates River is the last thing left to do in fighting terrorism in the country, he added.

"Terrorists are resisting but their fate is sealed," he told the Gazeta.ru portal.

Since the beginning of the conflict in Syria the country has been contaminated by landmines and explosive remnants of war thus one of the key tasks is to demine liberated territories.

Failing United States lashes out against tremendous Iran

US Iran America
© AP Photo/ Carlos Barria
The investigative journalist Gareth Porter says that US President Donald Trump, whose favorable-rating among Americans is 37%, is determined that regime-change for Iran is needed - overthrowing Iran's Shia-moderate President Hassan Rouhani, whose favorable-rating in Iran (see p. 10) is 62%.

This would hardly be out-of-character for the current US President. Trump is a far-right, neoconservative, leader, which means that he supports America's continuing to serve the interests of the fundamentalist-Sunni trillionaire Saud family who own Saudi Arabia, and of the Jewish billionaires who control Israel; and both of those aristocracies hate Shia, and especially hate the leading Shia nation, which is Iran, and intend to take it over.

Regime-change for Iran has been the US aristocracy's policy ever since 1979, and the billionaire liar Donald Trump won the White House by denying that he was a neoconservative - even his fellow-neoconservatives believed his lies about that and came out publicly backing the unashamed neoconservative Hillary Clinton (which helped to convince many of America's non-fascists to vote for Trump). Only few Americans are neoconservatives, but the few who are, are virtually all either American aristocrats or else lobbyists or other agents for same. Neoconservatism is the American aristocracy's foreign policy, and long has been. Trump's public statements against neoconservatives and their polices, were a major part of the appeal he had to voters, and helped to fool many people to think he cared about people other than himself and his narrow tribe.

Comment: Another likely scenario is simply that the Deep State is much more powerful than Trump's campaign promises and the presidency itself.

Comment: It does indeed look like the US set its sights on Iran (although its very unlikely that anything resembling a hot-war coming from the US or Israel will come about), but they are also in a position of declining influence. Europe and Russia have maintained that the Iran nuclear deal will stand against the US stomping of feet. Additionally, since US objectives in Syria are being dashed (no pun intended), their current operation is to maintain friction between Saudi Arabia and Iran by using Lebanon as a pawn. We'll have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Saudi Arabia claims failed Yemen missile attack an act of aggression from Iran

ballistic missile Saudi Arabia
© Houthi Military Media Unit / ReutersA still image taken from a video distributed by Yemen's pro-Houthi Al Masirah television station on November 5, 2017, shows what it says was the launch by Houthi forces of a ballistic missile aimed at Riyadh's King Khaled Airport on Saturday
In a statement in the wee hours of Monday, Saudi Arabia laid the blame for the attack directly at Iran's feet, claiming it would not have happened had Iran not been supporting Houthi rebels in Yemen. "Iran's role and its direct command of its Houthi proxy in this matter constitutes a clear act of aggression that targets neighboring countries, and threatens peace and security in the region and globally," the statement, published by the official Saudi Press Agency, reads. "Therefore, the coalition's command considers this a blatant act of military aggression by the Iranian regime, and could rise to be considered as an act of war against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

Saudi Arabia also said it "reserves [the] right to respond to Iran in the appropriate time and manner."

Comment: What hypocrites! Saudi Arabia needs to look in the mirror. Their war on Yemen, backed by the United States, is the very thing they speak against. If Saudi leadership truly wishes to join the civilized world, they need to end their barbarous war and re-establish diplomatic relations with Iran. If they need assistance, Russia has already offered a willing hand.

Belgian authorities have granted conditional release to ousted Catalan President Carles Puigdemont and four of his ministers, after they turned themselves in to police. Earlier, Spain issued an arrest warrant for the ex-officials.

Sacked Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont and four of his ministers were released after a court in Belgium granted conditional release to them on Monday, AP reports, citing Belgian prosecutors. "The request made this afternoon by the Brussels' Prosecutor's Office for the provisional release of all persons sought has been granted by the investigative judge," according to a statement from the prosecutor's office.

Comment: The dream of the independence of Cataluña is over. There will be elections on the 21st of December, but with the pro-independence leaders either in Belgium or in jail, their cause will no longer be represented:

Twitter suddenly updates rules, no longer believes in "speaking truth to power"

Twitter no longer believes in "speaking truth to power," according to its latest rules update in the midst of US lawmakers' frantic hunt for "Russian meddling" in social media.

The microblogging site's rules, under the section "Abusive Behavior," currently state: "We believe in freedom of expression and open dialogue, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up." On November 2, it read "We believe in freedom of expression and in speaking truth to power."

Incidentally, on November 1, Twitter, along with Google and Facebook, was grilled by US lawmakers in an ongoing witch-hunt for "Russian influence" that may have led to interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Tom Perez's DNC purge of Sanders supporters is not about politics

Tom Perez
© PoliticoTom Perez
Tom Perez has removed or demoted the majority of liberal supporters from the DNC leadership structure, replacing them with lobbyist and Clinton loyalists.

A lot of people believe this is political pay-back because these people supported Bernie or Keith Elison who ran against Perez.

To me, this theory seems strange because even if Tom was that petty, knows this move would leave the DNC free falling in popularity as any good will that the DNC had earned back from Bernie supporters would evaporate.

No, this wasn't petty revenge, this was desperation. The event that triggered this purge was the Unity Reform Commission.

Comment: Shows the depth of corruption behind the scenes of the DNC and the lengths someone like Perez has gone to in order to contain its secrets.

What have sleazy MPs been accused of in Westminster 'sex pest' scandal?

The Westminster 'sex pest' scandal will "clear out" sleazy behavior in Westminster, Home Secretary Amber Rudd says, as Tory MPs call for Damian Green to quit over pornography allegations. The scandal has seen the downfall of several politicians, with more likely to come.

Rudd said the wave of allegations sweeping Westminster would leave Parliament and the government in better shape, and that Westminster has reached a "watershed moment." The scandal has seen the downfall of several politicians, with more likely to come.

Comment: Westminster has been swamped in sexual scandal for a long time so the idea that this recent exposé will purge parliament of it's perverts is absurd and aides in concealing the more damning abuses by those in power, particularly those involved in paedophile rings:

First Secretary of State Green, the de facto PM, has denied a claim that police found "extreme porn" on his computer during a raid on his Westminster office in 2008. He said ex-police chief Bob Quick's claims in the Sunday Times are "completely untrue" and "political smears."

Hezbollah says Saudi Arabia forced Lebanon PM to resign

Hezbollah Nasrallah
Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah
BEIRUT (Reuters) - The leader of Lebanese Shi'ite group Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said on Sunday that Saudi Arabia had forced Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri to resign, and called for calm and patience in Lebanon.

Hariri, a political ally of Saudi Arabia resigned on Saturday in an unexpected declaration from the kingdom, citing a plot to assassinate him and slamming Hezbollah and its Iranian backers for sowing strife in the Arab world.

The resignation of the prime minister, a Sunni Muslim, toppled a coalition government that included Hezbollah.

Comment: More than being forced, it sounds like Hariri has made a pact with the devil. Adam Garrie writes:
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has delivered a rage filled resignation address from the Saudi capital of Riyadh. Hariri, who is a duel Lebanese-Saudi citizen, leads the Lebanese party Future Movement which forms part of the March 14 Allience in the Lebanese parliament. The future movement attracts few Shi'a and Christian voters and has been openly critical of Hezbollah's assistance to Syria in its war against al-Qaeda, FSA and ISIS.

During his resignation speech, he blasted Iran and Hezbollah in a manner that is highly reminiscent of Israeli propaganda. In a phrase echoing remarks made by Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu, Hariri said that "Iran's hand in the region would be cut off", although Hariri, like Netanyahu, failed to explain how Iran has a 'hand in the region' in a way that violates any norms of international law. Hariri then stated that he feared for his life, should he remain in office, while providing no evidence of credible threats to his safety.

The timing of the surprise resignation is in many ways, more significant than the content of the resignation speech.

The speech came shortly after Hariri met with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and only hours after the CIA published suspicious documents which perversely try to link Iran with al-Qaeda.

The fact of the matter is, as everyone except the CIA seems to know, that al-Qaeda is a declared enemy of Iran and Iran is a declared enemy of al-Qaeda, both in terms of geo-strategic interests as well as ideology.

Don't be rude to the crooks! Senator Bob Corker says "totally inappropriate" for Trump to demand investigation of Democrats

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said Friday it was "totally inappropriate" for him to call for the Justice Department to investigate Democrats, including aides of Hillary Clinton.

"Like me, most Americans hope that our justice system is independent and free of political interference," Corker said in a statement Friday. "President Trump's pressuring of the Justice Department and FBI to pursue cases against his adversaries and calling for punishment before trials take place are totally inappropriate and not only undermine our justice system but erode the American people's confidence in our institutions."

Comment: It's just a hope, Senator Corker. In reality, the American justice system is not independent nor free of political interference. If it were, Hillary Clinton would be in jail by now. This is why "the American people's confidence in our institutions" is mostly a figment of your imagination.

On November 1st, at the opening of the 21st World Russian People's Council, The Patriarch of Moscow and All of Russia Kirill spoke regarding the need to create a patriotic elite, TASS reports.

The Patriarch said, "Elites cannot be appointed artificially, we need a foundation to draw a modern elite from. To grow an elite, we have to cultivate our people and our society, and invest resources into it. If we fail to cultivate our people, others will do it."

He also reminded to those gathered that "the elite is not someone, who is exalted over the people. A true elite is made of people who accept responsibility for the future of the country, who identify their personal interests with national and state interests."
