John Kerry: Israel, Saudi, Egypt pushed US to bomb Iran prior to nuclear deal, honest!

John Kerry
Former Secretary of State John Kerry says both Israel and Egypt pushed the United States to "bomb Iran" before the 2015 nuclear deal was struck.

Kerry is defending the deal during a forum in Washington. He says kings and foreign presidents told the U.S. that bombing was the only language Iran would understand. But Kerry says that was "a trap" in many ways because the same countries would have publicly criticized the U.S. if it bombed.

Comment: It's likely that John Kerry and the warmongers in the US were just as desperate to bomb Iran:

Dave Lindorff: As a contributor to RT, suddenly I'm a Russian agent!

spies
For a number of years now, I have been periodically interviewed as a source or a commentator on news programs and as an occasional panel participant on RT TV, the Russian government-funded English-language television station. For the past year, I've been paid a small amount for my work.

Effective Monday, November 13, something changed, though. RT suddenly became a "registered foreign agent." The Russian government-funded news service, which has its headquarters in Washington, with bureaus in several other US cities, filed the required papers under protest - the only foreign news service operating here that is required to do so - and said it intends to sue. Russia is also retaliating and will be requiring some US news organizations operating in Russia, including Voice of America, to similarly register as foreign agents.

This means that as of two weeks ago, I have been working, at least on a minimal basis of perhaps one short 5-10-minute interview per week, for a "foreign agent."

The US government, a lot of heavy-breathing members of Congress, and the bulk of the corporate media in the US at this point are suggesting that journalists like me are at best "useful idiots" helping to promote Russian propaganda in the US - propaganda that our government claims is designed to sow discord among the citizenry and to undermine support for American democracy. Why, RT has been accused of such heinous behavior, according to former National Security Director James Clapper "promoting a particular point of view, disparaging our system, our alleged hypocrisy about human rights, etc."

Scary stuff, huh? He even accused RT of airing debates by third-party presidential candidates during the 2016 campaign - something the corporate media for years has dutifully refused to do in what I guess they consider a patriotic defense of our two-party system.

Comment: More on RT's forced registration as a "foreign agent":

Snowflakes: Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer cancel White House meeting over Trump tweet

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. abruptly cancelled a meeting scheduled for Tuesday with President Trump on tax reform and government spending after the president tweeted earlier that he "doesn't see a deal" emerging from the meeting.

Pelosi and Schumer said they will instead negotiate with congressional Republicans.

"Given that the president doesn't see a deal between Democrats and the White House, we believe the best path forward is to continue negotiating with our Republican counterparts in Congress instead," they said in a joint statement. "Rather than going to the White House for a show meeting that won't result in an agreement, we've asked Leader McConnell and Speaker Ryan to meet this afternoon."

"We don't have any time to waste in addressing the issues that confront us, so we're going to continue to negotiate with Republican leaders who may be interested in reaching a bipartisan agreement," they added.

Hysterical NATO Europe chief cries "The Russians are coming!" But who is the real threat?

NATO Europe Stoltenberg
Stoltenberg: An insufferable, effeminate, cuckish, neocon errand boy, there is definitely something weird about this guy
As the Western media and politicians relentlessly continue to spew forth warnings to their hapless populations about the ever-present and growing "Russian threat", only today, 12-11-2017, NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg has told Europe to "Prepare for a Russian invasion". Let us take a moment to analyse just who exactly among the hundred and fifty million odd Russians in the world actually constitute a threat to "the West", to anyone else or, indeed, to other Russians.

For the rest of this article, I will use the term "the West" to define the rulers, as well as the public faces (politicians, journalists, etc.) of North America, the rest of the Anglo Saxon world and western and northern Europe, i.e. the geopolitical alliance whose leaders have once again declared war on the Russian world.

So who are the most dangerous Russians in the world today? Are they, as the West so desperately needs you to believe, the Russian government and its president Vladimir Putin?

Unprincipled John McCain thinks Trump doesn't have any 'principles and beliefs'

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) ripped President Trump in an interview, saying he doesn't think the president has "principles and beliefs."

"I don't agree with the way he's conducting his presidency, obviously," McCain said during an interview with Esquire.

"He's an individual that unfortunately is not anchored by a set of principles. I think he's a person who takes advantage of situations."

Bill Clinton back in the spotlight: HLN to air two-hour special on Monica Lewinsky scandal

Monica Lewinsky 2016
HLN, sister network of CNN, is set to revisit "the shocking affair that nearly toppled a presidency" with a two-part special on Monica Lewinsky and former President Clinton.

"The Monica Lewinsky Scandal" will run Sunday at 9 p.m. as part of HLN's true crime series, "How It Really Happened," with host Hill Harper, the network announced Tuesday.

Comment: This is probably not what Hillary was aiming for, but the Clintons have certainly captured back the media's attention:

Pay as you go: Saudi Arabia releases prince Abdullah, once contender to the throne, for $1 bln

65-year-old Saudi Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, who has been held along with other Saudi princes, ministers and officials in a five-star Ritz-Carlton hotel in Riyadh amid an ongoing anti-corruption campaign, has been allowed to leave as part of the "acceptable settlement agreement" with the country's authorities.

Senior Prince Miteb bin Abdullah has reportedly agreed to pay more than $1 billion and admit to corruption "involving known cases" in exchange for the freedom to leave the luxurious hotel in Riyadh, where he was kept along with other individuals detained on corruption charges, a Saudi official said on Wednesday.

Comment: Previously, we read that the Saudi government was asking those detained to give up 70% of their wealth and to pledge alliegance to Prince Mohammed bin Salman in exchange for their freedom. They were not asking nicely though, since the royals kept at the Ritz have been beaten and tortured by US mercenaries.

Germany's spy chief begs for censorship and FakeNews, says tech giants should take control

Facebook must protect Germany and other noble pillars of democracy from unauthorized information - especially if the subversive materials can somehow be pinned on Russia. This is the expert opinion of Germany's deeply troubled spy chief.

With the anniversary of Berlin's Christmas market terror attack approaching, Hans-Georg Maassen, head of Germany's domestic intelligence agency, appears to be consumed by terrifying images of subversive Facebook posts crashing into young German minds.

The German spymaster, who is paid by German taxpayers to keep them safe, seems less worried about psychos running over holiday shoppers in the streets than he is about mythical Russian meddling unicorns. And remember, friends: This gentleman runs an "intelligence" agency.

Macron to university in Burkina Faso: 'Who are the slave traffickers? They are Africans' (video)

Macron Africa
© ReutersFrench President Emmanuel Macron delivers a speech at Ouagadougou University.
On a four-day trip to promote a reset in relations between his country and Africa, French President Emmanuel Macron lost his temper when discussing human trafficking.

Macron's whistlestop tour of African nations will see him meet leaders in former French colonies Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire), as well as former British colony Ghana. The visit has been pitched as a political bridge-building exercise.

Touching on France's colonial past, Macron told delegates at the University of Ouagadougou on Tuesday that the "crimes of European colonization are indisputable." On reports of slave auctions in Libya, Macron proposed a joint Euro-African initiative to eradicate people smuggling. However, a highly animated Macron left his audience of students in little doubt that the problem should be tackled by local authorities.

Comment: The topic of slave markets in Libya was recently brought to the public's attention by CNN. This is not new, however. Back in April, the Guardian reported on it, citing the International Office on Migration:
"The latest reports of 'slave markets' for migrants can be added to a long list of outrages [in Libya]," said Mohammed Abdiker, head of operation and emergencies for the International Office of Migration, an intergovernmental organization that promotes "humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all," according to its website. "The situation is dire. The more IOM engages inside Libya, the more we learn that it is a vale of tears for all too many migrants."

The North African country is commonly used as a point of exit for refugees fleeing other parts of the continent. But since Gaddafi was overthrown in 2011, "the vast, sparsely populated country has slid into violent chaos and migrants with little cash and usually no papers are particularly vulnerable," the Guardian explains.
So even if it is Africans who are trading with African slaves, as Macron points out, does he realize that it was the NATO bombing in Libya that threw the country into chaos and allowed this to happen? To use Macron's words: "the crimes of European colonization are indisputable".

Does Europe regret already handing Gadaffi's Libya over to the wolves?

British MPs are desperate for 'Russian interference' in Brexit

If you asked the UK government what it wants for Christmas, it would definitely say "some Russian interference, please mummy." The UK has seen what's happening in the US and it wants some Russian interference of its own, and it won't stop until it gets it.

Both Facebook and Twitter have now agreed they will help a British parliamentary committee investigate whether social media posts that came from Russia influenced the Brexit referendum last year.

Leading the charge is Damian Collins MP, chair of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee. This committee's dedication is awe-inspiring. Just because there is no obvious evidence of Brexit being influenced, that doesn't mean the members are going to stop looking. If they need to go on a taxpayer-funded jolly to Washington to talk to Twitter and Facebook, then that's what they will do. Facebook's offices have free muffins apparently, so it could be worth a detour.
