The Trump administration is moving to loosen restrictions on offshore and natural gas drilling put in place by during the Obama era after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill.

The Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) published new regulations Friday that aim to fulfill Trump's policy of "energy dominance." The BSEE's proposed rule said the Obama-era regulations "created potentially unduly burdensome requirements to oil and natural gas production."

"By reducing the regulatory burden on industry, we are encouraging increased domestic oil and gas production while maintaining a high bar for safety and environmental sustainability," said BSEE Director Scott Angelle in a statement Thursday.

One key provision requires that government regulators review production data from oil companies in real time. Another requires that operators obtain independent verification that safety devices work under extreme conditions.

Orban to European leaders: "Accept will of people on migration, culture, or hit the road"

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that Europeans are "asserting their will" by supporting leaders who reject mass migration and support Christian foundations, and gave a warning to politicians who deny the "natural order of democracy".

The conservative Fidesz party leader told Kossuth Radio's listeners that 2.3 million Hungarians took part in the national consultation against the George Soros-backed pro-mass migration plan, and Mr. Orbán now intends to spend the next few months convincing his opponents that Europe is right to protect her borders and her culture.

Asked by the 180 Minutes host what made him think that after two years, since the migrant crisis, progressive leaders would listen now, Mr. Orbán said: "Because in the meantime elections are being held in Europe."

Those who argue for a "mixed population" and to "abolish societies based on national and Christian foundations" in favour of living in multicultural societies "are continually losing ground in national elections", he observed.

"European people... will assert their will. Look at the elections that have been held in Europe over the last few months. And I think that this process will intensify.

"So we must hold out until Western Europeans follow the Central Europeans by becoming strong enough to use their democratic institutions, their elections, to force their leaders to pursue a policy which people favour and support a policy which rejects immigration," said the prime minister.

Comment: Orban happens to be right.

Flashback The truth behind America's invasion of Iraq: It marked a move away from absolute American domination of the world economy

Finally Exposed: The Truth Behind America’s Invasion of Iraq
The hypocrisy exhibited in Iraq is a good lesson for Africa, which was played in the same manner in the case of Libya.

It is now common knowledge that the Bush administration was largely made up of unapologetic liars who were all too keen to use their country's military muscle. A look into The Center for Public Integrity's reports on the Bush leadership's lies in the case of Iraq tells a tale of trigger happy leaders who enjoyed bullying the rest of the world. After cooking up all sorts of mistruths about the America's motive in Iraq, it is now all clear: it was largely a currency war. It was a war to maintain an economic hold on the global stage. The hypocrisy exhibited in Iraq is a good lesson for Africa which was played in the same manner in the case of Libya.

The Bush administration lied

The Center for Public Integrity, founded in 1989 by Charles Lewis did the world a big favor by analysing all the statements the Bush administration released and sifting through them for the lies. The Center found that President Bush and seven top officials made 935 false statements leading up to the Iraqi war. Bush himself made 232 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 28 false statements about Iraq's connections with Al Qaeda. In a radio address Bush gave on September 28, 2002, he said, "The Iraqi regime possesses biological and chemical weapons, is rebuilding the facilities to make more and, according to the British government, could launch a biological or chemical attack in as little as 45 minutes after the order is given. The regime has long standing and continuing ties to terrorist groups, and there are al Qaeda terrorists inside Iraq. This regime is seeking a nuclear bomb, and with fissile material could build one within a year."

Pew Research: Trump's media coverage three times more negative than Obama's

Donald Trump media coverage
© AP Photo/Evan VucciThe media story reviewed the tone of coverage of Trump's first 60 days in office and found that just 5 percent was "positive."
The media's coverage of President Trump has been overwhelmingly negative, more than three times more critical than the initial coverage of former President Barack Obama and twice that of former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

The Pew Research Center said that the early coverage of Trump was 62 percent negative. By comparison, Obama's coverage was just 20 percent negative.

Comment: The obvious reason for the discrepancy in media coverage is that Obama was a willing puppet while Trump had to be bullied into line.

Former GOP candidate Roy Moore is crying foul in his loss to Democrat Doug Jones in the Alabama state senate race. Jones eked out an unlikely victory over Moore in a traditionally Republican state.

Update: Alabama judge Johnny Hardwick ruled against failed GOP candidate Roy Moore's move to prevent the certification of Doug Jones. Secretary of State John Merrill will certify Jones as the winner of the runoff election.

Moore requested a judge issue a restraining order to prevent the state canvassing board from certifying Jones' victory. Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill said that Moore's move "is not going to delay certification and Doug Jones... will be sworn in by Vice President Pence on the third of January," according to AP.

Comment: The state of Alabama has since certified Jones' victory:
Alabama on Thursday certified Democrat Doug Jones' victory over Republican Roy Moore in this month's special Senate election, bringing an end to an unlikely race replete with controversy.

'Arrogant monarch': Sheila Jackson Lee has a long history of acting as an entitled 'Queen'

Sheila Jackson Lee
Sheila Jackson Lee has been a congresswoman for over 20 years. However, she acts far more like an arrogant monarch than a humble servant of the people.

The Texas Democrat has regularly abused her power and position to demand and receive special treatment from private companies, demean and harass subordinates, and reap untold benefits of being "The Queen."

When her abusive behavior comes to light, Jackson Lee often claims her opponents are racist.

Jackson Lee's most recent abuse of power comes at the expense of teacher Jean-Marie Simon who was allegedly bumped from her first class seat when Jackson-Lee demanded it. Simon was given a voucher for her flight by United and moved to the economy section. On her way to the back of the plane, Simon saw Jackson Lee occupying her seat.

Scott Ritter: The Iran-Houthi Haley hoax actually proves the U.S. is helpless when it comes to attacking well-armed foes like North Korea, Iran, and Russia

Haley nothing burger
US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, tries to serve up a big fat nothing burger to a truth-starved press. Don't eat it folks; it's all empty calories!
On December 12, America's Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, gave a press conference on the grounds of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. The subject of this briefing: the threat posed by Iranian-supplied missiles employed by the Houthi rebels of Yemen in their ongoing fight against a Saudi Arabian-led coalition.

As a backdrop for this dramatic presentation, Haley had assembled various components and debris recovered from two previous missile attacks by the Houthi on Saudi Arabian targets. "If we do nothing about the missiles fired at Saudi Arabia, we will not be able to stop the violence," Haley warned. "There is clear evidence that the missiles that landed on Saudi Arabia come from Iran," she said, adding: "The evidence is undeniable. The weapons might as well have had 'Made in Iran' stickers all over it."

The facts of the matter, however, are quite different.

China denies reports of Chinese ships selling oil to North Korea

satellite north korea china
China on Friday said the reports of Chinese ships sending oil to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) "do not accord with facts."

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying made the remarks at a daily press briefing.

Reports alleged that a Chinese ship sent oil to a DPRK ship at high sea on Oct. 19. The United States said Thursday that it was disappointed with China allowing oil to enter the DPRK.

Hua said that China had immediately investigated the relevant ship and found that it has not docked in any Chinese ports and had no entry and departure records of Chinese ports since August.

She said China did not know if the ship had docked in the ports of any other countries.

"The relevant reports do not accord with facts," she said. "China has always comprehensively and strictly implemented the UN Security Council's resolutions and carried out its due international obligations."
