Stern Sunday: PM May pledges unwavering devotion to Brexit in bullish Mail on Sunday article

UK PM Theresa May has made one thing crystal clear to her naysayers: Brexit means Brexit. Writing in the Mail on Sunday, May stated that she will "fight for our Brexit deal - because it is the right deal for Britain."

In what could go down in history as Stern Sunday - with the publication of her no-holds-barred Mail on Sunday piece, and the show of a steelier side on the BBC's Andrew Marr show (link) - Britain's prime minister vowed not to crumble under pressure from Tory rebels and Remainers.
"I say to the British people today: I am not going to Brussels to compromise our national interest; I am going to fight for it," May wrote.

"Our Brexit deal for Britain seizes the moment to deliver the democratic decision of the British people and secure a bright new future for our country outside the European Union. It restores our national sovereignty, so that it is our government that decides who comes into our country, our parliaments that make our laws and our courts that enforce them."
May then reminded readers that the money paid in subscriptions to Brussels could be better spent on at home. A throwback to the Leave campaign's Brexit bus, which broadcast to the world that Britain pays "the EU £350 million ($463 million) a week - let's fund out NHS instead," May pledged to deliver "a Brexit dividend to support domestic priorities like our long-term plan for the NHS."

Israel votes today on 'nation-state for Jews' apartheid law

Israeli Knesset
A general view of Israeli parliament Knesset in session
Israeli lawmakers are voting on a bill that declares Israel exclusively "the nation-state of the Jewish people," with rights groups warning it would enshrine apartheid and Jewish supremacy.

The "Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people" bill prioritizes Jewish values over democratic ones in the occupied territories and declares Jerusalem al-Quds the "capital" of Israel.

It also allows Jewish-only communities, sets Hebrew as the official language of Israel and relegates Arabic from an official language to one with "special status."

The bill, coming to a final vote Monday, has been compared to South African apartheid by Israeli lawmakers, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly said its passage is one of his top priorities.

Some 7,000 people, including several Israeli politicians, social activists, public figures and lawmakers, took to the streets of Tel Aviv Saturday to condemn the discriminatory nature of the measure.

Comment: Israel has always pretended to be a democracy while actually being an apartheid state. But you cannot have it both ways! If this law is passed, will they at least admit they are not interested in democracy and prefer to be a colonial regime?

New revelation from Strzok: Parts of 'Trump dossier' provided to FBI by Bruce Ohr

Amid the sound and fury from the insufferable Democrats acting as obstructionists and cheerleaders during disgraced FBI Agent Peter Strzok's congressional testimony Thursday, an extremely important revelation was almost lost in the noise. Strzok's testimony, under oath, is that Bruce Ohr provided information to the FBI that included material compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele - the Russian dossier.

Questioned by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, Strzok became the first FBI or Department of Justice official to admit that Bruce Ohr, whose wife Nellie Ohr was hired by Fusion GPS to conduct opposition research against then-candidate Donald Trump, supplied the FBI with documents related to the Russia counterintelligence investigation.

House Republicans preparing impeachment proceedings against Rosenstein

Committee members are fed up with his 'stalling probe into FBI bias against the President'

House conservatives are preparing a new push to oust Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to three conservative Capitol Hill sources - putting the finishing touches on an impeachment filing even as Rosenstein announced the indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers for interfering in the 2016 election.

House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, in fact, had the impeachment document on the floor of the House at the very moment that Rosenstein spoke to reporters and TV cameras Friday.

Conservative GOP lawmakers have been plotting to remove Rosenstein for weeks, accusing him of slow-walking their probe of FBI agents they've accused of bias against President Donald Trump.

Comment: Rosenstein is a Washington insider way back to the Clinton days. Does he still have enough pull to save himself now?

Putin understands that Trump puts US first, "This principle works for any head of state" but it has to be fair

Vladimir Putin is pragmatic enough to accept Donald Trump placing US national interests above all else but, to build a mutually beneficial relationship, he expects his counterpart to respect Russia's, Dmitry Peskov told RT.

Ahead of the much-anticipated summit between the Russian and US leaders in Helsinki, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov sat down with RT for an exclusive interview, in which he touched upon Donald Trump's seemingly controversial but very natural 'America first' motto.

"This principle works for any head of state. Any head of state, when talking to their foreign counterparts, has to take care of the interests of their state. And our president is quite pragmatic, quite consistent, quite practical. He always says that he cares about the national interests of Russia, above everything else. That's why he understands the reciprocal beliefs of Donald Trump, as applied to his country," Peskov said.

Trump-Putin in Helsinki: Much more than Syria and Middle East on the table

trump putin
Both Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump are meeting today Monday in Helsinki, Finland to discuss issues much more important than events in the Middle East. Despite its own importance, the situation in Syria is not as urgent as clarifying US intentions towards Russia and the potential will of both parties to develop the commercial-security-military relationship between their countries.

The US did not understand to date that Russia has no intention of engaging in war or in an armaments race, with results which would be very costly to both countries. On the contrary, Putin is longing for commercial cooperation with Trump and the opening of world markets with the benefit of economic prosperity worldwide.

The US seems still to be living the complex of the "reds" (the communist party) even though the communist Soviet Union has long gone as a ruling party in Russia. The reality behind this aggressive US approach towards Russia is about competition for world dominance, or (perhaps it is better said) the Russian "contribution" to ending the US's World hegemony.

The Russian-US objectives are way different from one another. Washington is aiming to control Europe, the Middle East and Asia, and would like to remain the world reference to fall back on. In fact, the US has failed to gain faithful friends due to its arrogance and its condescending attitude towards other world leaders and countries. These have understood that they have to fear US power and its unpredictable reactions, otherwise they will be candidates for economic sanctions or even "regime change", the US's favourite hobbyhorse.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin thanked players and fans for the great, incident-free and unifying event. He also revealed foreigners can enter Russia visa-free with valid "fan passports" until the end of the year.

"Naturally, we can be proud of how we organized the tournament. We did it for Russian sports lovers and for the sports lovers of the whole world. And we succeeded in all the aspects of this great event," Putin told reporters following the award ceremony of the World Cup.

Putin thanked fans, Russian and foreign alike, stating that the fears of hooliganism and misdemeanor were largely overblown ahead of the tournament. Russian fans proved to be "not just emotional, but responsible," Putin said, revealing that he was actually "surprised a bit."

Comment: Russia pulled out all the stops to put on a world class event. The goodwill from ordinary fans' experience of Russian hospitality will echo for years.

SOTT Focus: How Putin Made Russia Great Again

putin kremlin
The Western establishment is in panic over the Trump-Putin summit in Helsinki, Finland. Nothing scares the globalists like peace. US media and politicians endlessly repeat cliched slogans and disinformation about Putin. The propagandists ignore the horrific economic depression of the 1990s when Russia's GDP fell by 40%, inflation shot up 2,000%, the stock market collapsed, the economy became dependent on paltry loans from the IMF, one-third of Russians lived in extreme poverty, the Russian military was devastated, and the country's future seemed totally hopeless. (The fact that such misery was caused by Neocons, banksters and US economists who controlled Russia in the 1990s... will never be acknowledged by the Western media).

Putin became the president of Russia on Dec 31, 1999 under bleak conditions, and his success should be measured by the progress over the last eighteen years. Here are 7 ways in which Putin has Made Russia Great Again...

As Syrian Army liberates territory, West scrambling to save their White Helmets assets

Western countries have reportedly been scrambling to evacuate "volunteer" White Helmets from Syria, who have been accused of cooperating with Takfiri terrorists and staging false flag gas attacks.

CBS News broadcasting service reported on Saturday that White Helmets members are in danger of assassination and in need of rescue as the Syrian army intensifies its counter-terrorism operation in the country's southern part.

The report said the issue of the White helmets' withdrawal from Syria had been raised with US President Donald Trump in multiple conversations with allied countries on the sidelines of the July 11-12 NATO summit in Brussels.

The Netherlands, Britain, France, Canada and Germany have been trying to find a way to get an estimated 1,000 White Helmets volunteers and their family members out of Syria, the report added.

Comment: Just what these countries need: more jihadi 'refugees'.

British Prime Minister Theresa May brought up the issue during her meeting with Trump in the UK, and that the topic may also be discussed at Trump's upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Comment: We can't wait for Trudeau to dress up like a jihadist White Helmet and take some selfies with them once they get evacuated to Canada.

Flashback Strzok's lawyer says GOP lawmakers setting Strzok up for 'trap'

Peter Strzok
Peter Strzok testifying before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committee
The lawyer for the FBI counterintelligence agent who said "we'll stop" then-candidate Donald Trump from becoming president is accusing House Republicans of leaking portions of his client's private interview, setting him up for a "trap" to return to testify publicly next week.

In a scathing letter to the House Judiciary Committee obtained by the Washington Examiner, Aitan Goelman, the attorney for Peter Strzok, slams certain Republican lawmakers for behavior that "has transcended the bounds of decency, civility and fair dealing, even for this deeply divided political era."

Strzok gave a closed-door, transcribed interview to the House Judiciary and Oversight committees last Wednesday, after offering to testify publicly. That 10-plus-hour interview occurred after a subpoena was issued by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. - even though Strzok had said he would appear voluntarily.

"Having sharpened their knives behind closed doors, the committee would now like to drag back Special Agent Strzok and have him testify in public - a request that we originally made and the committee denied," Goelman wrote. "What's being asked of Special Agent Strzok is to participate in what anyone can recognize as a trap."

Goelman said that Strzok will not accept an invitation to testify publicly on July 10.

Comment: If it was a trap, Strzok walked into it, and didn't do himself any favors:
