Israel has released it so-called BDS blacklist - organizations whose activists will be refused entry to the country due to their support for the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against Israel.

The names of the 20 barred organizations were revealed Sunday by the Strategic Affairs Ministry, reported Haaretz. Previously, the Ministry had refused to publicly release the Boycott, Divest, Sanctions (BDS) member list.

"We have shifted from defense to offense," Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan said. "The boycott organizations need to know that the State of Israel will act against them and not allow [them] to enter its territory to harm its citizens."

Comment: Israel is running scared. By their own admission BDS is taking hold around the world

SOTT Focus: Behind the Headlines: Trump Wags the Iran Riot Dog, Kim Talks Korean Peace

Before the end of last year, protests broke out in Iran, quickly hijacked by rioters on the streets and neocons on Twitter. Economic demands, criticisms of the Islamic rulers, calls for all-out regime change: distinctions between the various demands were ignored by Western pundits eager to capitalize on the unrest and frame it in terms of their own myopic worldview. The hysteria has largely died down, but not the hypocrisy. Such protests are dealt with more harshly in Western democracies, but you wouldn't think it by looking at the news commentary.

Meanwhile, the war of blustery rhetoric between arch trolls Kim Jong-un and Donald J. Trump reached heights of comedic mastery in a comparison of nuclear-button-size. While those without a sense of humor worried about post-apocalyptic dystopia, the effect has been quite the opposite: North Korea calling for direct peace talks with their neighbors in the South.

As for the serialized slapstick comedy known as Russiagate, the "prosecution's" case continues to fall apart as the DOJ, FBI, and DNC are repeatedly exposed as dim-witted, naive marks for unsophisticated con-men like Chris Steele and his mentally deranged supporters. Once again, clown-in-chief Trump ends up looking like the sane one.

US reportedly plans to recognize Kurdish area in Syria 3x size of Lebanon 'soon'

An unnamed senior Western official told the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the plans are part of a new strategy for Syria currently being drafted by the Trump administration.

Washington is planning 'concrete steps' toward providing a Syrian Democratic Forces-controlled area in northern Syria's eastern Euphrates area three times the size of Lebanon with diplomatic recognition, a leading Arabic international newspaper has reported.

The 28,000 square km territory, controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, a collection of predominantly Kurdish militias including the YPG People's Protection Units, took its first step toward US recognition after US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis promised to send US diplomats to SDF-controlled areas to work alongside US troops operating in the region, the official said.

Comment: So the US still has plans to use the Kurds in order to keep Syria divided. This is blatant interference on Syria's soverignty.

The lying, coup-staging CIA recently escalated psyops in Iran

Hojedk Iran protests Fox News

The CIA recently escalated its involvement in Iran, and they ain't there for the baba ghanoush.

Back in June the Wall Street Journal published a report saying that America's Central Intelligence Agency had set up a new organization whose sole task would be to focus on Iran under the direction of "Ayatollah Mike" D'andrea, an aggressive Iran hawk.

"The Iran Mission Center will bring together analysts, operations personnel and specialists from across the CIA to bring to bear the range of the agency's capabilities, including covert action," says the report.

This alone is reason enough to be intensely skeptical of every single thing you hear about Iran. The CIA has been a consistent utilizer and developer of the science of psyops - psychological operations in which large groups of people are deceived and manipulated into thinking and feeling a certain way to advance a prefered agenda during war and during peacetime. Relatedly, the CIA also has an extensive and well-documented history of staging regime change coups to topple rival governments all around the world, including Iran. These are not conspiracy theories. These are conspiracy facts.

North Korea says the upcoming intra-Korean talks are a "great opportunity" for unification, but warns foreign parties against compromising the talks, state-run KCNA news agency said, commenting on a speech by Kim Jong-un.

In the editorial published on Saturday, KCNA stressed that bilateral relations are an "internal matter of the Korean people" that should be pursued without foreign interference, as it would "only create complexity in problem-solving." The article also warned against moves to block intra-Korean talks through "improper pretexts and legal and institutional tools," calling such efforts a "deceptive" gambit to misguide public opinion at home and abroad.

"Efforts to improve bilateral ties can come to fruition only when the two sides work together based upon cooperation among Korean people," KCNA said, adding that the sides "should not be bound by the past," and the will to improve relations should be backed by action.

12 countries where bitcoin craze may never catch on

The emergence of digital currencies poses a major dilemma for the guardians of economies across the globe. While some countries have taken a liking to the newcomers, others remain cautious or opted to ban them outright.

Bitcoin was born nearly nine years ago as something brand new for both the world of payment systems and the world of marketplace trading. Since then, hundreds of virtual currencies have emerged, and dozens of cryptocurrency exchanges opened their doors for those willing to join the frenzy.

Expansion of digital currencies inevitably poses pressing issues to address for state financial regulators. The first question is whether state central banks or finance ministries should regulate, or even tax, initial coin offerings (ICO) and derivatives exchanges as bitcoin and its numerous peers are grabbing more and more attention from investors. The second - is whether to issue official versions of virtual currencies for state use.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard has announced that government forces had "broken down the chain of unrest" which they say was fomented by foreign enemies of the Islamic Republic.

"Iran's revolutionary people along with tens of thousands of Basij forces, police and the Intelligence Ministry have broken down the chain [of unrest] created... by the United States, Britain, the Zionist regime [Israel], Saudi Arabia, the hypocrites [Mujahideen] and monarchists," a statement from the group's Sepahnews website said on Sunday.

Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of the Revolutionary Guards, made a similar claim earlier this week.

"Today we can announce the end of the sedition," Jafari said on Wednesday.

Investors should get ready for potential risks this year, warns Deutsche Bank. They include stock market corrections, the collapse of cryptocurrencies and housing bubbles.

With national central banks pursuing active policies pegged to the whole range of internal and external drivers, the geopolitical environment is continually changing with one concern being replaced by others.

Domestic policies carried out by governments across the world commonly have a significant impact on the whole planet, and new phenomena such as a crash in the crypto-market might bring down real companies.

Vice President Mike Pence's chief lawyer and domestic policy director are leaving his office at the beginning of the new year, according to four sources familiar with the staff turnover.

The moves come amid high tensions and staff turnover in the Trump administration thanks to the ongoing Russia probe and a new tell-all book about West Wing happenings.

"These moves have been in the works for weeks," the vice president's communications director confirmed to CNN.

CNN has learned that longtime senior staffers Mark Paoletta and Daris Meeks are leaving Pence's office. The announcement was made by chief of staff Nick Ayers in a staff meeting at the beginning of the week.

Tony Blair is back offering opinions no one asked for and deflecting from his warmongering that led to the refugee crisis

Britain's never-truly-gone former Prime Minister Tony Blair has had a busy new year period, filling the void by offering opinions no one wants. Brexit, immigration, ignoring democracy - he's got a lot to say.

With most politicians up to god knows what in the holiday period (we'll probably find out in the tabloids soon enough) Blair has seen an opportunity to hold court.

Blair is still so active in political life, one wonders whether sometimes he accidentally walks back into 10 Downing Street, kicks off his oxfords, loosens his tie and pours a Baileys and blackcurrant before even noticing the actual elected incumbent staring back at him across the room, angrily tapping her kitten heeled slippers.
