Ohr told Congress that the FBI was aware that his wife worked for Fusion GPS, but failed to disclose that to FISC

He also claims the FBI was aware of dossier author's bias, but failed to disclose that to the secret court as well

Senior Justice Department official, Bruce Ohr testified Tuesday that prior to obtaining the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant on short-term Trump campaign volunteer, Carter Page, the FBI was aware that former British spy and anti-Trump dossier author, Christopher Steele was biased against then-candidate Trump. He also stated that the FBI knew that his wife, Nellie Ohr was working for Fusion GPS, the now-embattled research firm which was hired by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC to compile the dossier with Steele. This, according to Congressional sources with direct knowledge of Ohr's closed-door deposition.

No deal! A secret Syrian-American security meeting in Damascus sent the US home empty-handed

Assad Trump
On one of the nights of the last week of last June, the Syrian security forces imposed strict measures inside and around Damascus International Airport. Just before midnight, a private UAE plane landed on one of the runways. About forty minutes passed before a huge procession of black Four-Wheel vehicles took off carrying the passengers to the Mezzeh area, in the center of Damascus, where the new office of Major General Ali Mamlouk, director of Syria's National Security Bureau is located. There, a senior US officer led a delegation that included officers from several US intelligence and security agencies. Ali Mamlouk welcomed the visiting delegation, along with the head of the General Intelligence Directorate, Major General Deeb Zeitoun, and the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Mowafaq Asaad.

Comment: If this is all true, then it reflects an enormous amount of courage, strength, wisdom and tenacity on the part of the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad -- and may also explain why we are now witnessing an incredible amount of belligerence and bullying on the part of the US government towards Syria.

Turkey is in a strong position to fight the economic war that Trump just made official

Erdogan,Russia, China
With Donald Trump doubling existing steel and aluminium tariffs against Turkey while decrying the present state of relations between Washington and Ankara, it is clear that Washington's economic war against Turkey, which had raged prior to the 10th of August, is now official and being conducted openly. While global markets have reacted negatively to Trump's declaration, Ankara has already begun looking for new partnerships as sanctions against Turkish officials, and now a doubling of tariffs, would have been anticipated and, among the most astute Turkish policy-makers, almost certainly were foreseen long ago.

In many respects, it is Turkey's fiercely independent economic and defence policies under President Erdogan that convinced the US to pull the trigger in the economic war. That being said, Turkey's clear future lies not with a reactionary protectionist US market but with Ankara's willing, ready and able economic partners throughout the multipolar world.

John Bolton's 'Damascus chemical weapons plot' is baseless, nonsensical and clearly another pretext to attack Syria militarily

Bolton Trump
US National Security Adviser John Bolton - a tireless proponent of US-led war around the globe - has recently claimed the Syrian government is preparing to use chemical weapons to retake territory held by militants in northern Syria. In response, the US has already threatened to carry out military strikes against Syria.

Bloomberg in its article titled, "U.S. Warns Russia It Will Hit Assad If He Uses Chemical Arms, Sources Say," claims:
Tensions between the nuclear powers flared after National Security Adviser John Bolton told his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, that the U.S. has information Syrian President Bashar al-Assad may be preparing to use chemical weapons to recapture the northwestern province of Idlib from rebels.
The article also claimed:
In April 2017, and again a year later, the U.S. carried out limited airstrikes on Syrian targets as punishment for what it said was the use of chemical weapons. Bolton said any U.S. action will be stronger this time, the people familiar with the talks said.
However, not only has the US failed categorically to produce the evidence it claimed to possess regarding previous alleged chemical weapon attacks blamed on Damascus, it has also failed to provide any logical motive to explain why Damascus would carry out such attacks.

Comment: Things will be coming to a head in Syria, one way or another, probably quite soon:

Bruce Ohr may have broken more than the law pushing wife's opposition 'research' to the FBI - he weakened the electoral system

Did Ohr 'personally and substantially' participate in a particular matter in which his spouse had a 'financial interest' while he worked for the Justice Department?

A review of publicly available information causes a reasonable person to wonder whether Bruce Ohr broke the law by promoting his wife's anti-Trump research to the FBI when he was working at the Justice Department.

The law prohibits public officials from involvement in matters in which their spouse has a financial interest. The question is, Did Ohr "personally and substantially" participate in a particular matter in which his spouse had a "financial interest" while he was employed by the Justice Department as the assistant attorney general? Let's take a closer look.

France warn diplomats against travelling to Iran, citing 'foiled bomb attack' on MEK rally in Paris

MEK Rajavi Paris
Trump ally Rudy Guliani, Senator Joe Lieberman, and the former PM of Spain stand with Miriam Rajavi, leader of 'the IRanian opposition', at their get-together in Paris, where they plotted the overthrow of the Iranian government.
The French government has warned its diplomats and foreign ministry officials against all unnecessary travel to Iran, citing a foiled bomb plot against a dissident rally in Paris as warnings of a more aggressive Tehran.

Written by the ministry's Secretary General Maurice Gourdault-Montagne on August 20, the memo seen by Reuters refers to a foiled bomb plot against an Iranian dissident rally in Paris earlier this year. It explains it as a "hardening" of Iran's position regarding France, "as well as some of our allies."

Merkel's recent visit to South Caucasus was to recon region's geostrategic value to NATO

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's recent trip to Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus clearly wasn't all about economic interests. Apparently she also sought to evaluate the region's geostrategic value.

The chancellor signed several bilateral agreements, and statements were made concerning future relations between the South Caucasus nations and Europe.

Many Western and Russian experts agree that Chancellor Merkel was mostly interested in assessing the Southern Gas Corridor project when she visited the South Caucasus. It means that in the near future, the European Union is planning to organize new gas supply routes, bypassing Russia.

But there is reason to believe that this doesn't fully define the events surrounding the chancellor's visit. The head of the leading European state probably wanted to see with her own eyes (as we know, personal experience is the most important thing for a politician) the region's geopolitical prospects.

'Assadist list' nothing more than McCarthyism paired with 'hoodwink' science

Lionel Stander testifies before the House Un-American Activities Committee

To paraphrase those Hollywood actors when dragged before the arc-lights of the House Committee on Un-American Activities (HUAC): "I am not now nor have I ever been an Assadist."

In the long stand-off between Syria and Iraq, with all its ruinous consequences, I was with Iraq. Between 1980 and 2002 - 22 years - I never set foot in Syria and wouldn't have been welcome if I had. I have a house named after the Beirut Palestinian refugee camp Tel al-Zaatar which was razed to the ground by the Syrians with many residents massacred. My first ever solidarity mission - more than 40 years ago - was to collect bagpipes for the orphans' band from Tel al-Zaatar.

I met the late president Hafez Assad only once - at a World Peace Conference in Damascus where I shared the stage with him, Yasser Arafat and others. I was 26 years old.

I have met the now-president Bashar Assad only twice - both times in formal meetings.

I have zero relations with the government in Syria and never have had. In fact I denounced sections of the regime under examination by Michael Mansfield QC in an inquest not that long ago.

FBI pushes back on story that Bureau used leaked stories to obtain spy warrants

The FBI is disputing a claim that an FBI analyst told Congress that the bureau uses information leaked to the press to obtain surveillance warrants against American citizens.

On Monday, North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows tweeted that Congress had "learned NEW information suggesting our suspicions are true: FBI/DOJ have previously leaked info to the press, and then used those same press stories as a separate source to justify FISA's. Unreal."

A congressional source told The Daily News Foundation that Meadows was referring to information provided during a congressional interview on Friday with Jonathan Moffa, an FBI analyst who worked on the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

President Donald Trump has accused search giant Google of deliberately highlighting negative news about his administration, and "controlling what we can and cannot see." Trump vowed that the situation "will be addressed."

The president exclaimed via Twitter on Tuesday morning:

In one of his early-morning tweets, Trump pondered whether Google's apparent search bias, which he claims shows 96 percent of results from 'National Left-Wing Media," is "Illegal." He did not elaborate on what kind of action he may be considering taking, but his sentiment is in line with earlier statements on censorship.
