The uncomfortable fact which too many commentators tend to run away from out of fear, ignorance or intellectual dishonesty, is that the world financial system is sitting on the verge of a global financial meltdown of a $1.2 quadrillion derivatives time bomb which former Bank of England Governor Mervyn King stated in September 2019 is on the verge of "financial Armageddon". This grim reality was known long before the COVID pandemic was launched during October 2019's Event 201.

It is this oncoming financial meltdown that underlies the war drive against China which certain western geopoliticans fear will shape the new system which they sought to control. France's Bruno Lemaire laid out this fear in the most candid way in July 2019 when he said "unless we are able to reinvent Bretton Woods, The New Silk Roads might become the new world order".

So what role does Canada play in this and how does this affect the shakeup in the current Canadian government now moving into a snap election on September 20, 2021? Why would Chrystia Freeland, a Rhodes Scholar more proficient in regime change than banking, be given the reigns of Canada's economic order during these trying times?

The tragic epilogue in Afghanistan came as no surprise to those few analysts who knew the real dynamics of the conflict but were often ignored, or ridiculed. Following the fall of Kabul into the hands of the Taliban, there were a plethora of post-mortems as to what went so wrong. The just-released, highly informative report of the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction provides a clear picture. Sadly, America's political and military establishments remain impervious to learning basic lessons.

China accused the United States of losing credibility in its foreign policy following its chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, as US Vice-President Kamala Harris tried to reassure Asia of Washington's commitment to the region.

Harris' trip to Singapore and Vietnam this week comes during the first major foreign policy crisis of President Joe Biden's administration.

In particular, Harris' expected arrival in Vietnam on Tuesday stirred comparisons between the frantic evacuation following the fall of Kabul last week and America's humiliating withdrawal from Saigon in 1975.

Russia to evacuate 500 from Kabul; Hungary winding down Afghan airlifts

Russia will use four military transport aircraft to evacuate more than 500 citizens from Afghanistan, Russian news agencies reported on August 25, as the Taliban said an August 31 deadline for all foreign evacuations to be completed will not be extended.

Besides Russians, the four aircraft will also airlift citizens of other member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), as well as Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry was quoted as saying in a statement:
"On August 25, by order from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu organized the evacuation by military transport aircraft of over 500 citizens of the Russian Federation, CSTO member states (Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan), and Ukraine from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan."
The aircraft are equipped with medical personnel and supplies to provide the necessary medical assistance in flight, the statement said.

In Budapest, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said the Hungarian evacuation efforts from Afghanistan are nearing an end after the Central European country airlifted just over 500 people from Kabul. "The exact timing will be announced by the commander of the army, which may happen as soon as today,"

Comment: It seems every leader has a take on what should happen in Kabul...regardless of the deadline edict by the Taliban.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada is prepared to keep its military personnel in Afghanistan after an Aug. 31 American deadline. Trudeau made the announcement after meeting today in a virtual summit with fellow G7 leaders.

Going into the meeting, Trudeau played his cards close to his chest on whether he wanted the G7 to push for an extension of the American military commitment to Afghanistan.

President Joe Biden had been expected to face calls from some fellow leaders in the special virtual G7 meeting to extend the U.S. military commitment to the country beyond his Aug. 31 deadline.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who hosted the summit, and France's Emmanuel Macron were among those calling for an extension in order to more fully evacuate all foreign nationals and vulnerable Afghans who helped the Americans and the NATO allies before the country's recent fall to the Taliban.

Trudeau added:
"We also have to talk about how, as an international community we're holding the Taliban to account, we're ensuring that we're protecting people who won't be able to escape the Taliban in the coming week or weeks."
Germany seems to be in the same pickle as other countries for evacuation of its citizens:
Germany will not be able to evacuate all of its citizens and Afghans who worked with the German troops by August 31, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has admitted, adding that 100 Germans still haven't got to Kabul airport. Maas told Germany's Bild TV broadcaster, adding that "honesty" demands he admit this fact:
"We will not be able to get everyone out of Afghanistan in the remaining days of this military evacuation operation."
The foreign minister said that German officials are "in contact" with 100 "citizens and their families" on the ground and are aware of their location. The officials were still trying to bring them to the Kabul airport in a "reasonably safe" manner and get them onboard one of the Bundeswehr flights. He also admitted that Berlin had to negotiate with the Taliban to evacuate some people while describing it as "worse than just an abnormal state of affairs." "To do this, one has to go ways one does not want to go," Maas said, arguing that Germany had no other choice.

So far, 351 German citizens and their families have been flown out of Afghanistan, according to the German media.
And the US update is 'no change':
It would seem the USA, and in particular the Biden administration, is in the international crapper.

Two House members and U.S. military veterans - Reps. Seth Moulton, a Democrat, and Peter Meijer, a Republican - took an unauthorized trip this week to Kabul as U.S. military forces scramble in Afghanistan to evacuate as many Americans and Afghan allies as possible before their Aug. 31. withdrawal deadline.

The trip was not confirmed until the Massachusetts and Michigan lawmakers, respectively, left Afghan airspace on a return flight, close to 24-hours after initially landing. Both served in Iraq before being elected to Congress.

Biden administration officials were furious about the trip, claiming that the arrival of the men caused a distraction for the personnel on the ground attempting to do a job amid chaos. One senior official told the Washington Post,
"They're taking seats away from Americans and at-risk Afghans - while putting our diplomats and service members at greater risk - so they can have a moment in front of the cameras."
In a joint statement, Moulton and Meijer contested the idea that visit appearance caused a distraction. They wrote:
"We have been on the other side of this argument while we were serving and it just isn't accurate. Trust us: the professionals on the ground are focused on the mission. Many thanked us for coming."
The lawmakers, who pledged to leave Kabul only on a flight that had at least three empty seats, say they were on a fact-finding mission. They also believe that leaving on a passenger flight and being taken to an area where evacuees are being temporarily relocated will provide them with on-the-ground knowledge of what the rescue process looks like, and aid their ability to deliver oversight.

Comment: Some of our legislators have guts and gumption to see first hand what comprises the real situation and kudos for a bi-partisan undertaking so as to present an even-handed account. Pelosi's take? Not so much.


Were rules broken...who knows. Congress seems to do this all the time.

South Dakota governor and anti-lockdown advocate Kristi Noem has promised to do all it takes to "protect" residents from a hypothetical federal vaccine mandate after the Pfizer-BioNTech shot received full approval from regulators.

Noem has vowed to take the Joe Biden administration to court if it tries to impose a blanket vaccination requirement on Americans, claiming that such an order would be illegal.

"If Joe Biden illegally mandates vaccines, I will take every action available under the law to protect South Dakotans from the federal government," Noem sounded off on Twitter.

The tweet came hours after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted its full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, one of three that have been used as part of the mass vaccination drive in the US. The others remain approved on an emergency basis only.

A recently published study from the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) shows there is no scientific rationale for forcibly masking schoolchildren. The study's publication simultaneously vindicates Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has been a vocal opponent of the policy due to its lack of scientific evidence.

When analyzing more than 90,000 elementary school students in 169 Georgia schools from Nov. 16 to Dec. 11 last year, the study found that schools that "required mask use among students was not statistically significant compared with schools where mask use was optional." According to the CDC, this
"might be attributed to higher effectiveness of masks among adults, who are at higher risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection but might also result from differences in mask-wearing behavior among students in schools with optional requirements."
Moreover, as New York Magazine noted, "Children are less likely to have severe disease from SARS-CoV-2, and when infected less likely to be symptomatic, which correlates with lower contagiousness. Those facts alone may account for part of the reason why the Georgia study found no clear benefit for a masking requirement for kids in schools."

The study's findings provide further credence to actions taken by DeSantis, who has come under attack from the Biden administration for following the science on children and COVID-19. Following DeSantis signing an executive order last month prohibiting the forced masking of children in Florida schools, President Joe Biden announced at a recent press event that he has instructed Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona to use "all of his oversight authorities and legal actions, if appropriate, against governors who are trying to block and intimidate local school officials and educators" as it relates to prohibiting mask mandates.

Comment: Mark of a good leader: Do the research, find the truth and don't let go. Mandates are not replacements for reality. The only one 'blocking and intimidating' is Biden.

Democratic Oregon Gov. Kate Brown announced Tuesday the reintroduction of statewide outdoor mask mandate applicable to every Oregonian older than five.

The new rule will go into effect Friday, and will require state residents to wear face masks in public outdoor settings where it is impossible to adhere to social distancing guidelines, the governor said in a Tuesday tweet. "The Delta variant is spreading fast and wide, throwing our state into a level of crisis we have not yet seen in the pandemic. Cases and hospitalizations are at a record high," Brown said in the announcement.

"Masks are a quick and simple tool we can immediately deploy to protect ourselves and our families, and quickly help stop further spread of COVID-19," she continued.


Comment: Quick, simple, and completely ineffective. (Oh, and the order includes the vaccinated.)

In February 2021, a World Health Organization (WHO) 4-week mission to China to study the covid plandemic's origins, came to the conclusion that it was unlikely the virus had escaped from the Wuhan viral research laboratory, or from any other Chinese laboratory, for that matter. Now, under pressure from western governments - foremost the US - WHO wants to send another mission to China to further investigate the origins of the virus. The Chinese authorities refused, saying the findings WHO and Chinese scientists arrived last February at were conclusive, and no further investigation was necessary.

It would appear that WHO receives its orders from a diabolical wealthy cult emanating from Wall Street and Washington which still pretends to reign above all 193 UN member nations and above the entire UN system.

China is absolutely right to refuse. It is clear that the West keeps harping on China's fault in this matter since China had to be encircled not only by US / NATO military bases, but also steadily demonized by the west, for anything they can find, since China is the up-and-coming economic power, overshadowing western greed-driven neoliberal exploitation capitalism.

To enhance WHO's position against China and to tarnish China's image in the world arena, the WHO lead scientist dispatched to Wuhan in February 2021, Peter Ben Embarek, told a Danish television documentary, transmitted on August 12, 2021 that the Chinese scientists refused to even discuss the lab leak scenario, unless the final report dismissed any need for further investigation.

Comment: When you understand the who, how, and why of the World Health Organization everything about their actions suddenly becomes clear. They are just another arm of the globalist technocracy.

Taliban tells women to stay home until it can retrain its fighters to deal with them

Afghan women working for the government should stay at home until the Taliban has reimposed security because its fighters are not trained to deal with them, a spokesman for the Islamist group said yesterday.

The Taliban used their second press conference since their takeover of Afghanistan to say they are trying to come up with a procedure to allow women back to the workplace.

Zabiullah Mujahid used the news briefing to continue to push his assurances that the Taliban have changed, despite widespread scepticism and fears the movement's second spell in power will usher in a return to the repression of their 1990s regime.

"We want them to work but we want the security to be right," Mr Mujahid told reporters at the government media centre in Kabul.

"This is a temporary situation in relation to women," he said.

He blamed the movement's fighters currently providing security in the capital, saying they are not trained in "how to deal with women".

Women who work for the government would continue to be paid their salaries while at home, he said.

Mr Mujahid last week said the movement was "committed to letting women work in accordance with the principles of Islam".

Comment: "Deeply concerned" about the situation in the country, "especially for women," the World Bank has suspended disbursements to Afghanistan.

The Taliban needs their rebranding ("Taliban with a human face"?) to stick if they want to acquire any semblance of legitimacy. But as the article suggests, this will depend on the rank-and-file members getting with the new program. No doubt some of the recent reports about women blocked from entering their workplaces, and killings of collaborators (despite the amnesty) result from those who haven't downloaded the latest Taliban policy updates (while others will just be standard rumor-mongering). One question that remains is if the amnesty will apply to those translators and their associates who had already been sentenced to death by the Taliban before the amnesty, e.g.:
The Taliban have sentenced the brother of an Afghan translator to death, according to letters obtained by CNN, accusing him of helping the US and providing security to his brother, who served as an interpreter to American troops. A former service member who worked with the translator confirmed his service and his brother's plight.

The letters are just one example of how the Taliban are directly threatening Afghans who worked with the US or are family members of those who have, leaving them scrambling to flee the country in the wake of the Taliban takeover.

"You have been accused of helping the Americans," the Taliban wrote in the first of three letters to the Afghan man, adding, "You are also accused of providing security to your brother, who has been an interpreter." The first letter from the Taliban, which is hand written, orders the man to appear for a hearing. The second handwritten letter is a notice of his failure to appear for the hearing. In the third letter, which is typed, the Taliban notify the man that because he rejected previous warnings to stop "your servitude to the invading crusaders" and ignored a subpoena to appear for a hearing, he was "guilty in absentia" and will be sentenced to death.

The Taliban delivered the letters within the last three months to the interpreter's brother, according to the former service member who worked with the interpreter. CNN is not identifying the Afghan man, nor his family member, to protect their identities amid the threats they're facing. The letters, which were written in Pashto and translated into English for CNN, have seals that match those of archival Taliban letters. "These court decisions are final and you will not have the right to object," the third letter reads. "You chose this path for yourself and your death is eminent [sic], God willing."
