Reporters push State Department for evidence of Russian 'false flag' plan

Ned Price
© APState Department spokesperson Ned Price pushed back against reporters' plea for evidence, stating his word was proof.
State Department spokesman Ned Price sparred with reporters at a press conference on Thursday while being grilled for not presenting sufficient evidence for Russia's plan to film and broadcast fake videos of Ukrainian forces attacking Russian or Russian-proxy soldiers as pretext for an invasion.

The Pentagon announced Thursday that the Russians had planned to release "very graphic propaganda," including footage of "corpses, and actors that would be depicting mourners, and images of destroyed locations as well as military equipment in the hands of Ukraine or the West."

Officials said Russia planned to use the video to accuse Kiev of genocide against Russian speakers, thereby justifying military action against Ukraine.

The Epstein Files: US Bureau of Prisons bent facts to support suicide narrative

Jeffrey Epstein
© Rick Friedman / Rick Friedman Photography / Corbis via Getty ImagesThe declassified papers on notorious pedophile case shed light on more suspicious details
Documents obtained under Freedom of Information laws by RT investigative unit The Detail include startling records revealing how the US Bureau of Prisons (BOP) moved to shut down any and all public debate about the cause of Jeffrey Epstein's death. Along the way, evidence was distorted, material facts ignored, and key anomalies unexplored and unpublicized.

After being found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center on August 10, 2019, the records show that the Bureau issued statements to journalists and Epstein's family categorically stating he'd committed suicide. The result was international news outlets universally and unquestioningly reporting that Epstein had taken his own life from the word go, despite Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson having reached no conclusion at that time, and making clear in a statement the next day that the investigation was open and ongoing.

Comment: It's rather telling that, years later, despite Epstein's decades of sex trafficking to high profile people, we've still yet to hear any of the names:

The friendship between Russia and China has become an example of how two nations can develop together and support each other "in almost all areas," Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.

Speaking to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at their first face-to-face meeting since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Putin noted how Moscow and Beijing have been in constant contact and have continued to boost cooperation.

"Regarding our bilateral relations, they are, indeed, developing steadily in the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership," Putin said in publicly-broadcast comments before the start of the discussions. "They have acquired a truly unprecedented nature and are an example of worthy relations that help both parties to develop and, at the same time, support each other in their development."

Israel's coronavirus cabinet decided to abolish its so-called green passport program for most places of entertainment, including hotels, restaurants, gyms and movie theaters, effectively removing barriers to entry for the unvaccinated.

The new policy will come into effect on Sunday, and will leave the proof of vaccination in place for events "with significantly greater risk of infection," such as weddings and parties.

The cabinet also decided to scrap the requirement to present a PCR test upon exiting the country. Arriving passengers, however, would still need to present a negative test.

British foreign minister mocked by Russia after geography gaffe

Liz Truss
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said that the UK's "Baltic allies" were located on the Black Sea, despite them being over 1,000km apart
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has been slammed by Russia's Foreign Ministry after a geography error confusing two different bodies of water in Europe, over 1,000km away from each other.

In an interview with the BBC, Truss explained that London is "supplying and offering additional support into our Baltic allies across the Black Sea," despite the fact that Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are located nowhere near the southeast European body of water.

"Mrs. Truss, your knowledge of history is nothing compared to your knowledge of geography," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

Comment: One blessing for UK citizens is that their corrupt politicians aren't very smart and the incompetent ones are fairly brazen, sadly, however, the voting public don't seem to notice and it looks like any impetus for change will have to come in the form of a whole lot more suffering: Also check out SOTT radio's: MindMatters: How Psychopaths Infect and Destroy Hierarchies of Competence

Fifth aide quits Boris Johnson's Number 10 as exodus continues

Boris Johnson

Another aide has left Number 10, taking the total number of departures in less than 24 hours to five.

Number 10 Policy Unit member Elena Narozanski is the latest aide to leave Boris Johnson's Downing Street operation amid the continuing fallout from the partygate allegations.

Who else is leaving?

Her departure comes after Number 10 revealed Dan Rosenfield, the prime minister's chief of staff, and Martin Reynolds, Mr Johnson's principal private secretary, are leaving their roles.

Comment: Partygate only really came about because of a number of curiously timed leaks, and, taken together, it really does look like some factions in the establishment want Johnson gone. Why, who they want to replace him with, and what direction they want to drag the country down is, as of yet, unclear.

What is clear is that British politics is showing all the signs of being utterly overwhelmed by the incompetent and the corrupt, and history is littered with examples of what happens to a society that succumbs to ponerization:

Bloomberg announces 'Russia invades Ukraine', admits 'publishing error'

bloomberg Russia ukraine
The news agency apologized for accidentally posting a pre-written headline
Bloomberg News agency published a headline that read, 'Live: Russia invades Ukraine'. It went up on its homepage around midnight Moscow time and stayed there for nearly half an hour, before it was removed and an apology for the mistake issued.

Users who clicked on the shocking story while it was still up were redirected to an error page, according to the New York Post. Screenshots of Bloomberg's website shared on Twitter indicate that the sensational claim remained largely unnoticed for at least 24 minutes before it was deleted.

The news agency admitted the blunder, saying that they "prepare headlines for many scenarios and the headline 'Russia Invades Ukraine' was inadvertently published around 4 p.m. ET today on our website."

Comment: It would take less than a minute to create the headline in the event it did actually happen, the fact that they created it in advance - and one wonders just how far in advance, and why - may reveal just how hystericised and misinformed so many in the mainstream media are. How it came to be 'accidentally' published is another question.

Comment: The demonstrably baseless, and dangerous, rhetoric was toned down, in part, because it was seriously harming Ukraine's economy. President Zelensky and his own defense minister declared that the probability of any escalation 'was no more than previous years', in total contradiction to the narrative being pushed for months by the US: Also check out SOTT radio's: NewsReal: Canadian PM Flees Freedom Convoy as Washington Seeks War in Europe

Best of the Web: Xi and Putin urge NATO to rule out expansion as Ukraine tensions rise

PutinXI

China's Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin of Russia have signed a joint statement calling on the west to "abandon the ideologised approaches of the cold war", as the two leaders showcased their warming relationship amid a tense standoff with the west before the Beijing Winter Olympics.

In the joint statement released by the Kremlin, Putin and Xi called on NATO to rule out expansion in eastern Europe, denounced the formation of security blocs in the Asia Pacific region, and criticised the Aukus trilateral security pact between the US, UK and Australia.

The two leaders met for the 38th time since 2013. The two countries also pledged to step up cooperation to thwart "colour revolutions" and external interference, and vowed to further deepen "back-to-back" strategic coordination.

A war with Russia would be unlike anything the US and NATO have ever experienced

Jan. 12, 2022
In a recent press conference held on the occasion of a visit to Moscow by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about continued NATO expansion, and the potential consequences if Ukraine was to join the trans-Atlantic alliance. He said:
"Their [NATO's] main task is to contain the development of Russia. Ukraine is simply a tool to achieve this goal. They could draw us into some kind of armed conflict and force their allies in Europe to impose the very tough sanctions that are being talked about in the United States today. Or they could draw Ukraine into NATO, set up strike weapons systems there and encourage some people to resolve the issue of Donbass or Crimea by force, and still draw us into an armed conflict."
Putin continued:
"Let us imagine that Ukraine is a NATO member and is stuffed with weapons and there are state-of-the-art missile systems just like in Poland and Romania. Who will stop it from unleashing operations in Crimea, let alone Donbass? Let us imagine that Ukraine is a NATO member and ventures such a combat operation. Do we have to fight with the NATO bloc? Has anyone thought anything about it? It seems not."
But these words were dismissed by White House spokesperson Jen Psaki, who likened them to a fox "screaming from the top of the hen house that he's scared of the chickens," adding that any Russian expression of fear over Ukraine "should not be reported as a statement of fact."

Comment: It takes a 'genius' to goad a global fight, given irrefutable odds it will lose.

War powers caucus leader demands Biden get congressional approval before military action against Russia

Andy Biggs

House Republicans from the War Powers Caucus are reminding President Biden of Congress' sole power to declare war as the Biden administration plans to send troops to Eastern Europe to counter Russia.

Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., founder and co-chair of the bipartisan War Powers Caucus, sent a letter to Biden Thursday demanding that he seek congressional approval before taking any offensive military action relating to Russian aggression toward Ukraine, including sending troops into Ukraine. Biggs said in a statement to Fox News Digital:
"The Constitution requires Congress to declare war if it determines that offensive military action is in our national security interest. Deploying American troops into what could be a deadly and long-lasting conflict should be taken very seriously and requires congressional approval. President Biden must bring his arguments before Congress so it can exercise its constitutional prerogatives and determine whether a declaration of war is right for America."
