Russophobia: History of Hate | RT Documentary

russophobia
This is just the latest outbreak of russophobia in a very old pattern
Russia has been portrayed as a 'savage and barbaric' nation, from Ivan the Terrible to Vladimir Putin. But where does the image come from? The documentary explores the creation of the anti-Russian narrative in the West and how it spread to the media and popular culture.

Researchers, historians and writers in the documentary claim Russia became a convenient target after the Great Schism. Throughout history, European rulers and philosophers constructed the image of an uncivilised nation, unfit for talks. For example, French philosophers Diderot, Voltaire and Rousseau argued if Russia could become a civilised country or if it was destined to remain barbarian.

The mythical ferocious Russian bear and the tale of bad Russia still feature in the media and contribute to modern russophobia. The documentary traces the origins of the anti-Russian narrative in the West and explores who benefits from it.

Watershed moment for sceptics as Prime Minister candidate Rishi Sunak makes election pitch saying "I stopped lockdown"

Prime Minister candidate Rishi Sunak
In a watershed moment for lockdown sceptics, Prime Minister candidate Rishi Sunak has said his opposition to lockdown is a reason that Conservative members should vote for him to lead the country.

In an interview with Andrew Marr on LBC, the former Chancellor said that last December he cut short an overseas trip and flew back to London to intervene and "stop us sleepwalking into a national lockdown".

"We were hours away from a press conference that was going to lock this country down again because of Omicron," he said. "And I came back and fought very hard against the system, because I believe that would be the wrong thing for this country, with all the damage it would have done to businesses, to children's education, to people's lives."

Comment: Pretty bold to make resistance to lockdowns part of your election pitch. Whether or not it works will be indicative of how people really are looking back at the last two years.

Inside the shadowy Delaware court set to decide Musk v. Twitter fate

When Elon Musk and Twitter face off in court in October, there won't be a jury or cameras.

The judge won't really be bound by the law, either.

That's because Twitter brought its lawsuit against the Tesla billionaire in the Delaware Court of Chancery, where some of the world's biggest businesses often battle out their disputes in obscurity.

For those about to rock, NAM 2.0 salutes you

NAM 2.0 drive - of which China is a key player - stands in stark opposition to how the Empire of Chaos - and Lies - wove its toxic net, via the war on terror, since the start of the millennium.

Those were the days, in 1955, at the legendary Bandung conference in Indonesia, when the newly emancipated Global South started dreaming of building a new world, via what became configured later in 1961 in Belgrade as the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The Empire of Chaos - and Lies - would never allow a starring role for NAM. So it played dirty: everything from hardcore subversion and bribing to military coups and proto-color revolutions.

Yet now, the Spirit of Bandung lives again, via a sort of NAM 2.0 on steroids: a Newly Aligned Movement, with the leaders of Eurasian integration at the vanguard.

We just had a taste of which way the geopolitical wind is blowing at the gathering of a new power troika in Tehran. Unlike Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill in 1943, Putin, Raisi and Erdogan did not meet to carve up the world. They met essentially to discuss how another world is possible - through bilaterals, trilaterals, multilaterals and an enhanced role for an array of relatively new geopolitical and geoeconomic institutions.

Russia - and China - have been on the forefront of all recent key decisions. Their diplomacy has brought Iran to join the SCO as a full member. Their pull is attracting key Global South players to join BRICS+. Russia has all but convinced Turkey to join BRICS+, the SCO and the EAEU, and facilitated the re-approximation of Tehran and Ankara as well as Tehran and Riyadh. Russia has largely influenced the remake/remodel process across West Asia.

Ottawa to "permanently embed" woke ideology into department

Canada
A federal "anti-racism" strategy guide details plans to "permanently embed" far-left woke ideology into Canada's immigration system.

The 40-page Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada: Anti-Racism Strategy 2.0 provides a detailed update on how the department plans on combatting so-called "systemic racism" within Canada's immigration system.

Buried in the middle of the report, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada propose that its proposed "anti-racist" strategy becomes a permanent feature of the government department, adding that it should be set up in such a way that it can't be overturned by future governments.

No energy security without Russia, 'like it or not' - Hungary's FM visits Moscow to seal gas purchase

Hungary needs to buy an extra 700 million cubic meters of natural gas this year to ensure its energy safety and this is "simply impossible" to do without Russia, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on Thursday.

Speaking in Moscow at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, the Hungarian minister said that "some may sell empty promises and chase dreams," but the "physical realities cannot be changed." "Like it or not," in his opinion, "it is currently simply impossible to buy this much extra natural gas in Europe without Russian sources."

Szijjarto stressed that while his country's storage facilities were full enough "for normal times," since these are not normal times Hungary needs more gas to feel secure. The minister stressed that negotiations with Russia should conclude as soon as possible as the heating season officially starts on October 15.

Comment: Indeed; officials across the planet have warned times are due to get unimaginably more turbulent.

Israel's military censors have lifted a ban on reporting the country's use of armed drones, an official said on Wednesday, ending an open secret by admitting that the armed forces have unmanned attack aircraft and have used them.

Palestinians have accused Israel of using armed drones in targeted killings in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, something never confirmed by Israel, which had previously barred all publication of news on the issue.

There have also been numerous international news reports of Israeli drones attacking targets in Lebanon and Iran, which have never been confirmed officially by Israel.

A statement from the military censor said that after consideration of the issue, "it was found that there was no impediment to publishing the IDF's use of armed UAVs as part of its operational activities."

The normalization of The New Normal Reich

Karl Lauterbach
© Substack/CJ Hopkins
I know, you're probably sick and tired of hearing about the Rise of the New Normal Reich. You want it to be over. So do I. It isn't over ... not by a long shot. It might seem like it's over where you are. I imagine it does if you live in Florida, or in Texas, or the UK, or Sweden, or Croatia, or in some other country or state in which the majority of the "Covid restrictions" have been lifted, or perhaps were never introduced in the first place. If that's the case, I'm happy for you.

I happen to live in New Normal Germany, the current tip of the New Normal spear, or one of the tips of one of its spears (or mRNA-laced hypodermic needles), the others being countries and states like Canada, China, Australia, New York, California, and assorted other hotbeds of New Normalism. If you live in one of these New Normal strongholds, as I do, you are acutely aware of how it is not over.

Yes, the Covidian Cult is kaput. The spell has been broken. Only the most insanely fanatical New Normal cultists continue to walk around in public in their plague masks and homemade hazmat suits. But the New Normal Reich is not kaput. The New Normal Reich is being ... well, normalized. The masses are being systematically conditioned to accept the biosecurity police state that the global-capitalist ruling classes have been implementing for the last three years. Despite the now irrefutable evidence that the "vaccines" do not prevent transmission of the virus, "the Unvaccinated" are still being segregated, banned from working, attending school, competing in major sporting events, and so on. People are still being forced to wear masks — the symbol of the New Normal Reich — on planes, trains, public transport, in doctors offices, hospitals, et cetera. Here, there, and everywhere, New Normal symbols and social rituals are being permanently integrated into everyday life.

These symbols and rituals are more than just the window dressing of the New Normal Reich. They are how our new "reality" is being created and maintained. The masses are like actors being forced to emotionally invest in the "reality" of an absurdist stage play. The more they repeat the performance, the more convincing the fictional "reality" becomes, regardless of how patently absurd it is ... and it is becoming more and more absurd.

For example, at the airports in New Normal Canada, citizens attempting to enter their own country without the so-called "ArriveCAN" app on their smartphones to provide proof of their "vaccination status" (including octogenarians who do not own smartphones) are subjected to extended absurdist harassment by imbecilic New Normal clowns in red vests. Here in New Normal Germany, the government is preparing to force everyone to wear medical-looking masks in public every Autumn and Winter, not just on account of the "Apocalyptic Plague" but also on account of the normal Winter flu. The pretext doesn't really matter anymore. The point is the display of ideological uniformity.

Zelensky request snubbed by South American trade block Mercosur

South America's Mercosur trade bloc has declined a request by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to address its upcoming summit, host Paraguay said on Wednesday.

Bloc members Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay failed to reach an agreement on Zelensky's request, made to the host country last week, according to deputy foreign minister Raul Cano, who declined to say which states were against it.

Zelensky has addressed several national parliaments as well as regional and international forums since Russia's invasion of his country in February, including NATO, the G7, the World Economic Forum, the United Nations and even the Cannes Film Festival.

The Ukrainian leader spoke to Paraguay's President Mario Abdo Benitez last week, asking to be allowed to address a Mercosur summit to be held on Thursday, following a ministerial meeting on Wednesday.

Comment: This snub is notable for a variety of reasons but, along with much of what's detailed above, it certainly hints at South America's pivot away from the West. And as the US SOUTHCOM commander highlighted in a video doing the rounds on Twitter recently, the US is not shy about its interest in the wealth held in South America:
