Trump slams US aid to Ukraine

The US has too many problems of its own to hand money and weapons to Ukraine for its conflict with Russia, former US President Donald Trump has said. It's Europe that should be providing more help to Kiev as it's far more affected by the situation, he insisted.

Speaking at the Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, Trump recalled how he pushed for NATO members in the EU to increase their defense spending to 2% of their GDP during his presidency. Back then, the US was "taken advantage of by Europe," and now the same thing is happening again over Ukraine, he said.

"We've so far given more than $60 billion to Ukraine. Well, the European countries, who are obviously far more affected than us, have given a tiny fraction of that number," the ex-president noted.

If he were still in office, he "could've gone over there [to Europe]" and said:
"'Listen, you're going to put up the same money or more money than us.' And they would've done it gladly. But we just give money out. And we have $35 trillion in debt. We have all of these problems."
Trump referred to record inflation in the US, the energy crisis, and other issues.

Trump also doubted whether even the massive levels of US assistance would change the situation on the ground in Ukraine.
"Now, it's much tougher to solve. Russia has 35 times the fire power. And they're looking to obliterate the weapons as we send them in. A lot of bad things are happening."

Comment: Multiple factors created the issues choking the US - exacerbated, propelled and intensified through Biden. Alarms are blaring. Trump is but one.

Hungary warns of shift in world order

The Russia-Ukraine conflict could end the West's dominance and shift the balance of power in the world, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said. Russia launched a military campaign against the neighboring country in late February.

Orban argued that the decision to impose sanctions on Moscow and supply Kiev with heavy weapons de facto turned the EU and NATO member states into participants in the conflict, but ultimately yielded no results.

Orban, in a speech in the Romanian city of Baile Tusnad on Saturday, said:
"Instead, today we are sitting inside a car with flat tires on all four wheels. The world is not only not with us, but it is demonstratively not with us. Instead of thinking about gaining the upper hand on the battlefield in Ukraine, the West should now focus on achieving peace through negotiations."
Orban also warned:
"The conflict could easily put an end to Western supremacy and create a multipolar world order. We must try to persuade the West to develop a new strategy. The conflict will end when the Americans and the Russians come to an agreement."

Kiev slams Viktor Orban for saying anti-Russia sanctions and arms supplies to Kiev have brought no results

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's remarks about the ineffectiveness of anti-Russia sanctions are "a classic example of Russian propaganda," Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko claimed on Sunday.

Orban said on Saturday that the decision to impose sanctions on Moscow and supply Kiev with heavy weapons had turned the EU and NATO member states into de facto participants in the conflict, while failing to deliver results.

Responding in a Facebook post, Nikolenko said the idea that "sanctions did not shake Russia" represent "a classic example of Russian propaganda."

Israeli PM Yair Lapid warns Moscow that shutting down immigration agency would hurt relations

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid has warned Russia against shutting down an agency that processes the immigration of Jews to Israel, saying the move would have a serious impact on bilateral ties.

Lapid told a meeting of senior officials on July 24 that closing the offices of the Jewish Agency for Israel would be a "serious event that would affect relations," a government statement said.

Russia's Justice Ministry has demanded that the Russian branch of the agency be shut down, and Moscow's Basmanny district court has scheduled a hearing on the ministry's request for July 28.

Reality bites: Foreign soldiers flocked to Ukraine after Russia invaded, but five months on, the fighting is taking a heavy toll.

'The closest thing I've seen to hell': U.S. veterans fighting in Ukraine describe heavy losses in the battle against Russia

After a thrilling first few months of unexpected success that boosted morale among the Ukrainian ranks, the reality of the bloodiest European conflict since World War II has taken its toll among some of the thousands of foreign fighters who traveled from abroad to battle the Russian invaders.

The war has long moved past the Ukrainian victory in Kyiv's suburbs, which are still scarred by the mass graves and blown-out buildings of the Russian occupation. Instead, after months of battle, soldiers push for excruciatingly incremental gains from trenches in the grassy plains and farm fields of the country's east and south.

It's now a grueling artillery slugfest.

Comment: Let the truthifying begin. Ukraine did not 'win a victory' at the "Battle of Kiev". The Russians very publicly withdrew a token force that was only meant to pin a portion of the UAF around Kiev, preventing its deployment to the Donbass region.

US 'concerned' about Zelensky's safety

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan claims that Russia is "capable of just about anything"

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Friday that Washington is worried about the personal safety of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. The US is assisting Zelensky with his security, Sullivan added.

"President Zelensky's personal safety is something that concerns us," Sullivan told the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado. "This is a leader in wartime, dealing with an enemy in Russia that is ruthless, brutal and capable of just about anything."

"President Zelensky takes the precautions you would expect to protect himself," Sullivan continued, adding that the US is helping to "facilitate" the Ukrainian leader's security, without elaborating.

Comment: Sullivan appears to be laying the ground work for the narrative, if/when puppet Zelensky outlives his usefulness.

Central bank digital currencies (CBDC's) are coming - What will the consequences be?

CBDC graphic
Currencies are the lifeblood of trade and the economy; if a currency fails, the entire economy fails. Yet, most people rarely think about the health or buying power of the money in their pocket. People don't research how often currencies actually falter and how common it is for inflation or stagflation to strike nations. They just assume that the money they have will be as useful tomorrow as it is today. They also assume that money will never change in a dramatic way.

This lack of interest in how money works is likely due to the fact that people are not taught how their money is created. It's not discussed in schools, the truth is avoided in colleges and the mainstream news rarely mentions it. People think our government and treasury handles all of that, but the reality is that our government does NOT create our money; at least, it's not in charge of the process. Central bankers are, and they operate from a "quasi-independent" position.

For example, former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan once openly admitted that the central bank "answers to no one" and does not follow orders from the government. They do what they want when they want.

The head of military intelligence says the Russian president could have sent a body double to key talks in Iran.

Russian President Vladimir Putin may have used a lookalike for his trip to Iran this week, the head of Ukraine's military intelligence service (GUR) has suggested.

During an interview on Ukrainian TV channel TSN on Friday, Major General Kirill Budanov was asked to comment on Putin's health during the Russian leader's recent trip to Iran.

Comment: They're going full paranoid at this point.

Best of the Web: Russia pledged to help African countries finally complete the process of decolonization

africa russia
When one thinks about liberation, the first thing that comes to the minds of many is Africa's decolonization cause, which regrettably hasn't yet been completed in full. It therefore naturally follows that if Russia wants to obtain credibility for its global revolutionary manifesto, then it must actively support Africa in finally finishing this process, ergo Lavrov's promise to that end.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov published an article on Friday ahead of his visit to Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Congo Republic articulating his country's policy towards the continent. The most important part concerns his pledge that Russia will help its partners there finally complete the process of decolonization. The first step, as he sees it, has already been accomplished upon the creation of regional integration organizations such as the East African Community (EAC) and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). Then came the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTFA), which Lavrov regards as "an important step towards the true economic independence of the continent, its final liberation from any manifestations of discrimination and coercion."

Vladimir Putin answered media questions

In conclusion of his working visit to Iran, Vladimir Putin answered questions from the media.
Question: Mr President, some would think the world has forgotten about Syria amid the numerous issues on the international agenda. But we have seen today that this is not so. We would like to hear your views on the situation on the ground in Syria. A great deal has been said today about points of contact, but there are many differences as well. Have you discussed or coordinated any fundamentally new solutions today? I am referring primarily to these differences.
President of Russia Vladimir Putin: What I would like to begin with is not the differences but the fundamental issues that allow us to work and continue our efforts in the trilateral format. All of us believe that it is necessary to guarantee the territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic and to eliminate all sorts of terrorists, which I will not enumerate here. This is the fundamental and the most important thing, as we have pointed out again in our joint statement. I believe that this is very important.

Yes, there are certain differences, which is obvious, but all of us support the constitutional process. Thanks to our efforts, we have brought together various conflicting parties at one negotiating platform, including the opposition and the official authorities of the Syrian Arab Republic, experts and representatives of public organisations, as well as the UN. I believe this is extremely important. This is the first point.

The second. Humanitarian aid is being provided to Syria, for which there is particularly great demand today, because the sanctions imposed on Syria and the Syrian people have produced a deplorable result: nearly 90 percent of people in Syria are living below the poverty line. The situation in Syria is extremely serious.

Comment: Whose fault is it the pipelines have been shut off and whose citizens will bear the consequences? These countries have the power to reverse this decision and forego devastating results.
The German and other European governments have pledged to suicide the German economy and the wealth of their citizens solely out of spite over the Russian government's action in the Ukraine. They deny that it is THEIR action that is causing the crisis.

Here is a neutral source, an Indian diplomat, explaining the basics of the business to the dimwits who are ruling over Europe: Russia teaches Europe ABC of gas trade

They, and their media, ignore that Russia has had, and has, sound reasons to defend the Donbas republics. They do not tell you that the Ukraine, in late February, had planned and was ready to attack the citizens of Donetzk and Luhansk with overwhelming force.

Here is additional evidence for that: OSCE Reports Reveal Ukraine Started Shelling The Donbas Nine Days Before Russia's 'Special Military Operation'

They deny that Ukraine is controlled by extreme right wing elements. They deny that there are full fledged Nazis formations in control of Ukraine even as their own media have for years warned of those.

They are lying to you.

All German natural gas storage sites can be filled to the brim via Nord Stream II if the Germany government would allow for it. It does not do so. That is the reason why you in Europe will to have pay much more for heating and electricity in the months and years to come.

Russia will win the war. It is only a question of time. Meanwhile the sanctions will impoverish Europe:
[C]an the European public wait? Before the sanctions have a "desired effect," it is the ordinary people that will suffer. Russia's economy is still standing, but the crisis has cast a long shadow over European economies. Leaders of EU countries face low growth and record inflation. The euro is at parity with the dollar. According to a Bloomberg report, the European Commission is set to warn that a halt of Russian gas supplies to the EU could potentially reduce its GDP by as much as 1.5 percent.

The EU is well in a position to find out that it is not that Russia cannot live without Europe, but Europe cannot live without Russia. EU's sanctions against Russia serve as a boomerang. After all, it is the European public that is paying the price for the decision of policymakers. European politicians talk in high spirits about what kinds of sanctions would hurt Russia most and that aligning with the US makes them more secure. But when the public has no gas to even take a shower or cannot buy oil and flour at the supermarket, what is the meaning of the "security" the European politicians tout?
It is on you to expose the politicians behind these sanctions and to force them to change course. Your well being depends on that.
