Scott Adams: A thought experiment about republicans

democrats vs republicans states
The left has done a stellar job of demonizing Trump supporters and Republicans in general. Their excellent persuasion involves conflating the bad apples with the entire group. Both sides do it. The right calls everyone on the left selfish snowflakes, and the left calls everyone on the right racists. They do it because it works. The brain likes to conflate things. And if the shiniest object in our view involves headlines about racists, or lefty rioters, those images stick in our minds and taint our impressions of the entire group.

So let's try this thought experiment.

Comment: Takeaway message: Democrats are suffering a bad case of that "first criterion of ponerogenesis", i.e. they're totally blind to the presence and influence of pathological agitators in their midst. And that's a dangerous thing.

World's worst dumps: Three no-go zones where garbage rules creating toxic cities (DOCUMENTARY)

Garbage dumps

Where does your garbage end up? Hopefully, it is recycled. But this relatively new tradition has not yet reached many places around the world, where hundreds of hectares of land are swallowed up by landfills and waste dumps.

'The Mine' of Guatemala City

An infamous rubbish dump just outside of Guatemala City is the biggest landfill in Central America, with 16 hectares of land covered with all sorts of trash. Known as Zone 3 or Basurero, which stands for 'dump,' it receives a third of the country's total waste.

It is also a source of income for thousands of impoverished locals who rummage through the rubbish in search of things that can be reused or sold for recycling, giving Zone 3 the nickname of 'the Mine.'

On one end, the dump neighbors the shacks of the 'miners,' and on the other - the city's cemetery, which is perched just outside the Basurero. When the family of someone buried in the cemetery can no longer pay for the spot, the coffin of the deceased is simply dug up and dumped into the pit - after all, Guatemala has no restrictions on things that can be dumped there. Some locals compare 'the Mine' to a wild beast, and many believe the place is haunted by evil spirits.

Judge David Ticehurst freed monster Edward Brooks' who was hoarding vile videos of children on his computer

A judge slammed sentencing guidelines which he said left him no alternative but to free a pedophile found with over two MILLION child abuse videos.

Sickened police found Edward Brooks' vile hoard hidden on computers and hard drives in a cavity wall.

Prosecutor Nikki Coombe said it was so big officers were been unable to categorise them all.

The videos - downloaded over a ten-year period - mainly featured girls aged between 12 and 14, Taunton Crown Court heard on Tuesday.

Brooks, 50, was arrested and bailed by police after they discovered the stash last February.

But shortly afterwards he logged back on and downloaded a further 2,231 sexual photos and videos of girls aged between eight and 16.

Handcuffed woman who fell out of moving police car fending off rapist cop awarded $3.5 million

Taxpayers of Los Angeles will have to pay for their police department's misconduct yet again, as a woman who fell out of a squad car in 2013 has been granted a $3.5 million settlement.

Kim Nguyen had been arrested for alleged public drunkenness, handcuffed, and put in the back of a Los Angeles Police Department patrol car. At speeds of around 30 mph, Nguyen leaned against one of the back doors — which turned out to be unlocked — in an attempt to escape a sexual assault by one of the officers, according to her lawsuit.

Reports My News LA:
"Officers David Shin and Jin Oh arrested Nguyen for public intoxication after they saw her run across the street about 3 a.m. on March 17, 2013. At the time, Nguyen was a graduate student in her last semester at Loyola Marymount University's MBA program.

"Nguyen was handcuffed and put in the back seat of a squad car off Sixth Street between Oxford and Serrano avenues, according to her court papers, which state that she 'was not seatbelted into the car and the manual door lock was not engaged.'

Nearly 70% want French presidential hopeful Fillon out of election race - poll

Around 68 percent of respondents want French presidential hopeful François Fillon to withdraw from the election, a new poll shows. Fillon's popularity plunged following allegations that his wife was paid hundreds of thousands of euros for a fake job.

The blow to Fillon's reputation was measured by an Ifop poll conducted for Le Journal du Dimanche.

Only 23 percent of those who took part in the poll consider the conservative candidate, who was until recently poised to become France's next president, "honest," compared with 77 percent who think he is not.

"Francois Fillon is clearly paying the price for the affair," Frédéric Dabi, the deputy general manager of Ifop, said on Saturday, referring to the scandal - dubbed Penelopegate - which revolves around claims that his British wife, Penelope Fillon, was paid colossal sums of public money for doing a fake job as a parliamentary aid.

Post-truth world: Liberal media trying to shift blame for Berkeley riots to right-wing paramilitaries

Berkely riot
A nice tolerant liberal fire..
As we wrote on Thursday, Breitbart senior editor and self-described "dangerous faggot" Milo Yiannopoulos was forced to cancel his talk at UC Berkeley after students and Antifa agitators attacked police with fireworks, stormed barricades, set signs on fire and forced the entire campus to shut down. Several bystanders were also attacked and injured over the course of the "anti-fascist" demonstrations.

We expected some quiet self-reflection from the liberal media after violence at UC Berkeley, home of the free speech movement, prevented a conservative from speaking on campus.

Unfortunately, it turns out our expectations are much too high for these people.

Referring to the violent Antifa demonstrators (yes, they were Antifa. They organized a Facebook event to shut down Milo's talk. The Guardian interviewed them as they threw firecrackers and vandalized random things. It was Antifa and they're proud of it), Establishment neo-liberal Robert Reich had the panache to comment on CNN: "I don't want to say factually, but I've heard there was some relationship here between these people and the right-wing movement that is affiliated with Breitbart News."

Donetsk resident has simple request after Ukrainian army kills his family: 'Don't come here!'

The media is busy trying to frame a new Kiev offensive near Donetsk as the latest example of "Russian aggression" (if that sentence doesn't make sense to you, "welcome to 2017").

It's been a tough sell, of course. Especially since even U.S. State Department-funded outlets admit rather openly that Kiev has been quietly advancing eastward, in clear violation of the Minsk protocols.

And there's no shortage of videos showing what's reallyhappening in East Ukraine.

Below is a powerful but difficult to watch (watch it anyway) video made by journalist Patrick Lancaster, which shows a Donetsk man pointing to his recently killed mother, and explaining how he feels about Kiev's plans to "liberate" Donbass.

Heroin use fuels surge of emergency room visits among California millennials

heroin abuse
© The Odyssey Online
California's millennials continue to flood hospital emergency departments because of heroin, a trend that has increased steadily statewide and in Los Angeles and Orange counties over the past five years, according to the latest figures.

The state data released last week show that in the first three months of 2016, 412 adults age 20 to 29 went to emergency departments due to heroin. That's double the number for the same time period in 2012.

Overall, emergency department visits among heroin users of all ages increased, but the sharpest was among the state's young adults. About 1,500 emergency department visits by California's millennials poisoned by heroin were logged in 2015 compared with fewer than 1,000 in 2012.

Emergency responders, those who work in recovery programs, and parents of children addicted to heroin say the figures are unsurprising given the increase in prescription painkiller abuse that likely has led more young people to use heroin.

Liberal mob and Hollywood trolling Trump, could bring down US democracy

US Protesters

The Left's non-stop temper tantrum since Trump's election win is revealing an ugly underbelly of the Democratic Party - think Rosie O'Donnell mud-wrestling with a pig - where a rogues' gallery of provocateurs aims to delegitimize conservative rule.

First, some necessary background: for 15 uninterrupted years of US military escapades abroad, eight of those years on Obama's watch, the Liberal Left could not be awakened from its somnambulist slumber, not even to hold a meaningful antiwar protest in the spirit of their Vietnam-era forebears.

University students, for example, no longer concerned about conscription since the US military became a professional fighting force in 1973, rarely speak out against the plight of foreign civilians trapped in US-made wars - America's most lucrative export industry bar none. Sadly and tellingly, these demonstration dropouts would be at pains to name a single modern anti-war song to match the hundreds of comparable tracks heard around the nation during the Vietnam War.

For eight carefree years under Obama's tedious tutelage, these precious snowflakes threw their collective damp mass behind radical cultural experiments, like legalizing marijuana, institutionalizing same-sex marriages and opening the door to transgender bathrooms from sea to shining sea. America's Founding Fathers must have been watching over these solemn, patriotic endeavors in God's Country with tremendous pride and equanimity.

However, when a Republican real estate mogul named Trump crashed the impossible party, Liberals hit the streets running and screaming. Suddenly, the Left had found common cause to get out of the house and smash stuff, as they did when Milo Yiannopoulos, a right-leaning editor at Breitbart News, was forced to cancel an appearance at UC-Berkeley - ironically the home of the Free Speech Movement - after protesters broke campus windows, burned trees and hurled projectiles at police.

The underlining message from these social justice warriors is that Liberals love the idea of other individuals freely expressing their thoughts, but only if those thoughts support the basis of their own thoughts. I may be mistaken, but that sounds disturbingly close to the rationale behind Nazi book-burning events and other such historical smashups.

Officials did not immediately release the name of the suspect, but sources told The Post he is in his 20s and lives in a housing project in East New York, Brooklyn, a neighborhood just west of her home in Howard Beach.

The suspect had been on police radar for a while, sources told The Post.
