The French farmer who started roadblock protests in wake of father's suicide

Inspired to act following the suicide of his father amid the tough conditions of the French farming industry, Jerome Bayle has personified the French farmers campaign to protest pay, regulation and taxes by blocking roads nationwide.

The roadblock he started with a few others near the town of Carbonne, outside Toulouse, was the first in a movement that by Monday had spread to major roads leading into Paris.

Sporting a bushy beard and a variety of stylish headwear, Bayle insists he never wanted to be a "superhero". But he now finds himself under attack for contenting himself with the first government concessions.

Bayle has evoked the deeply personal shock of his farmer father's suicide as a foundation for his activism to AFP and in regular appearances on news channels.

Comment: The farmers have the support of the local population, not only in France but elsewhere in Europe as well.

'We are dying slowly:' Palestinians are eating grass and drinking polluted water as famine looms across Gaza

gaza hunger

Hanadi Gamal Saed El Jamara, 38, says sleep is all that can distract her children from the aching hunger gnawing at their bellies.

These days, the mother-of-seven finds herself begging for food on the mud-caked streets of Rafah, in southern Gaza.

She tries to feed her kids at least once a day, she says, while tending to her husband, a cancer and diabetes patient.

"They are weak now, they always have diarrhea, their faces are yellow," El Jamara, whose family was displaced from northern Gaza, told CNN on January 9. "My 17-year-old daughter tells me she feels dizziness, my husband is not eating."

As Gaza spirals toward full-scale famine, displaced civilians and health workers told CNN they go hungry so their children can eat what little is available. If Palestinians find water, it is likely undrinkable. When relief trucks trickle into the strip, people clamber over each other to grab aid. Children living on the streets, after being forced from their homes by Israel's bombardment, cry and fight over stale bread. Others reportedly walk for hours in the cold searching for food, risking exposure to Israeli strikes.

Comment: Israel's famine policy in Gaza is reminiscent of the starvation imposed on the Irish people by the British government at the beginning of the last century, as well as the Nazi's sanction of famine as a mass murder weapon during WWII. In the case of Israel, a lot of the citizens support their government's actions.

Calling someone 'transphobic' in Florida could cost accusers $35,000 or more under new law

ron desantis
In what could very clearly become the slipperiest of slopes,a bill introduced in the Florida Senate would make calling someone 'transphobic' , 'homophobic' , racist, or sexist a form of defamation.

Introduced on Friday, SB 1780 "Defamation, False Light, and Unauthorized Publication of Name or Likeness," would make it easier for people to sue each other for defamation.

According to the bill, "an allegation that the plaintiff has discriminated against another person or group because of their race, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity constitutes defamation per se," which means that even when said allegations are false, they are automatically defamatory - meaning that anyone accused of said 'isms' wouldn't have to prove "actual malice," a higher standard set for defamation suits following a 1964 Supreme Court case, New York Times vs. Sullivan.

In instances where someone is accused of homophobia or transphobia, defendants charged with defamation wouldn't be allowed to use the plaintiff's religious or scientific beliefs as part of their defense, and could face fines of at least $35,000.

Excess mortality in 2023 associated with Covid vaccination rates in 25 European countries

Emergency Ambulance
In 2022, I wrote a series of posts discussing the correlation of excess mortality with vaccination rates. Several comparisons by country, German-Bundesland, and more showed a positive relationship between excess mortality and vaccination (or booster) rates.

That would be impossible if Covid vaccines saved lives. The real-world data bafflingly suggest that Covid vaccines may increase excess mortality instead of decreasing it.

Back then, I expressed a hope that excess mortality would moderate, a hope based on my wishing the best for all vaccinated people.

It is January 2024. Therefore, we can ask, what happened in 2023?
I found more data and re-analyzed it. There is good and bad news regarding the relationship between excess mortality and vaccination rates.

Let's take a look.

Question

Is this the man who created COVID-19 in Fauci's US lab?

Ralph Baric
Top U.S. virologist Ralph Baric engineered the COVID-19 virus SARS-CoV-2 in his lab at the University of North Carolina as part of his work in connection with the 2018 DEFUSE funding proposal. That's the story that's been going round the internet for some months now (and not just in alternative media) and it all looks very damning for Baric and those connected with his research. Details of the DEFUSE project were first leaked by Major Joseph Murphy, an employee of U.S. military research agency DARPA, in the summer of 2021 and further details of earlier drafts have come to light this month thanks to public record requests from U.S. Right to Know (USRTK).

In DEFUSE, Baric proposed to create a virus that was, to most intents and purposes, SARS-CoV-2. The proposal included inserting a furin cleavage site into a coronavirus spike protein, an order for the restrictive enzyme BsmBI, the search for a binding domain that would infect ACE2 human receptors and a requirement for a viral genome around 25% different to SARS.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus contains a furin cleavage site in its spike protein, its genome includes the restrictive enzyme BsmBI, it has a receptor binding domain finely tuned to infect the ACE2 human receptor and its genome is around 25% different to SARS. A number of virologists have said that such features make SARS-CoV-2 a smoking gun for an engineered virus.

Several killed in new Ukrainian shelling of Donetsk - mayor

Kiev's forces have attacked the Kalininsky District of the capital of Russia's Donetsk People's Republic, Aleksey Kulemzin has said...

At least three people have been killed and one other wounded in a Ukrainian strike on the Russian city of Donetsk, Aleksey Kulemzin, the mayor of the capital of the Donetsk People's Republic, has said.

The Kalininsky District in the eastern part of the city was targeted on Monday, Kulemzin wrote on Telegram.

Footage allegedly shot at the scene captured several bodies on the ground and the burning debris of a car that had been destroyed in the attack.

According to the republic's Joint Center for Control and Coordination, eight missiles from a multiple rocket launch system were fired at Kalininsky District at around 3pm local time.

Donetsk, which is located close to Russia's front line, has frequently been a target of Ukrainian strikes amid the conflict between Moscow and Kiev. But, earlier this month, the city of some 600,000 came under one of the worst attacks when 25 civilians were killed and 20 others wounded during a weekend bombardment of a busy market.

Destroy a Nation: Israel is deliberately bombing Palestine's educational institutions

Gaza
© UnknownGaza
It's not about Hamas, nor the Palestinian resistance hiding its weapons or any other excuse to attack Palestinian schools and universities, it's a plot to destroy the Palestinian people. The Israeli government is deliberately targeting all educational institutions of Palestine whether they are in the Gaza strip or in the West Bank and beyond. So why would they do such a thing?

If the Palestinians don't have educational institutions to train doctors, engineers, lawyers, historians, mathematicians, religious scholars, lawyers, and every other profession that is essential for a nation to survive and thrive, then what kind of society would they have?

Trained doctors and nurses won't be able to treat and cure their patients. Engineers and architects won't be able to build critical infrastructure such as buildings, roads, water and sewer systems, railways and airports. An uneducated people won't be able to maintain or compete with other countries in terms of finance and international trade with skilled accountants, economists, financial planners, and investment bankers. Professors, teachers, and school administrators won't be able to teach their students reading and writing, math, history, religion and the sciences such as biology, chemistry and physics. Newspapers and media won't have trained journalists, researchers, and radio broadcasters and so on. In other words, a nation without knowledge is doomed for failure and the Israelis are well aware of it.

Destroy the education of the Palestinians, you destroy a nation of people.

The Next Big Thing

biden train wreck america meme
I'm sure you can see exactly where all this is going. By all this, I refer to the cortège of disasters orchestrated by "Joe Biden" and associates — with help from a power-crazed globalist cabal — hauling our country at a gallop now to the graveyard of empires. Is there any question that they are out to wreck Western Civ? And speeding up the action because too many actual citizens are rising to oppose their degenerate wickedness?

Most particularly, the people who have not surrendered their reason to the Woke-Marxist mind-fuck that calls itself "progressivism" have had enough of the purposeful inflow of something like ten-thousand fake asylum-seekers a day across the border, mostly men, a lot of them from China, and many more of them mutts from faraway lands where Jihad is the order of the day — meaning the crusade to exterminate the people of Western Civ. We're supposed to be okay with that.

Comment: Mr. Kunstler is not as politically correct as some would like, but free speech is the order of the day between adults. His expectations are deeply pessimistic, to be sure, but not out of the realm of possibility. Best be prepared for the worst, and then happily surprised when it's just half as bad as expected. That will be plenty bad enough.

New & global ideology gap between men and women emerging

ideology
© iStock/natasaadzicIn countries on every continent, an ideological gap has opened up between young men and women. Young men and young women's world views are pulling apart. The consequences could be far-reaching, says the Financial Times' John Burn-Murdoch.
One of the most well-established patterns in measuring public opinion is that every generation tends to move as one in terms of its politics and general ideology. Its members share the same formative experiences, reach life's big milestones at the same time and intermingle in the same spaces. So how should we make sense of reports that Gen Z is hyper-progressive on certain issues, but surprisingly conservative on others?

The answer, in the words of Alice Evans, a visiting fellow at Stanford University and one of the leading researchers on the topic, is that today's under-30s are undergoing a great gender divergence, with young women in the former camp and young men the latter. Gen Z is two generations, not one.

In countries on every continent, an ideological gap has opened up between young men and women. Tens of millions of people who occupy the same cities, workplaces, classrooms and even homes no longer see eye to eye.

Comment: One wonders whether this ideological propensity in the genders has always been there, but that both positions tended to be softened through circumstances, such as relationships and childbearing, however, with people marrying later, or not at all, coupled with a collapsing birthrate, this is failing to happen.

Israeli special forces disguised as Muslim women, men and doctors kill three militants at West Bank hospital

israel attack hospital
Israeli forces dressed in doctors' scrubs and women's clothes have killed three Palestinian militants in an undercover operation in a hospital in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin.

A border police counter-terrorism unit and a unit from the internal security forces, known as the Shin Bet, entered Ibn Sina hospital on the outskirts of the city's refugee camp early on Tuesday, CCTV footage of the aftermath of the operation showed.

The units made their way to a room on the third floor and shot all three men in the head using pistols fitted with silencers, in an attack that took less than 10 minutes from start to finish, Israeli media said.

Comment: The Daily Mail reported further:
CCTV circulating online appeared to show around a dozen undercover troops, including three in women's clothing and two dressed as medical staff, advancing through a corridor of Ibn Sina hospital in Jenin with assault rifles.

Israeli authorities confirmed the commando operation, and Israel's police minister shared the clip on social media.

The army said troops 'neutralised' the three men who were hiding in the hospital in the north of the West Bank. The time stamp on the CCTV footage displayed the date as January 30 2024 at around 5am local time.

'This morning three young men were martyred by the bullets of the occupation (Israeli) forces, who stormed the Ibn Sina hospital in Jenin and shot them,' the Palestinian health ministry in Ramallah said.

Hospital director Naji Nazzal told AFP that 'a group of Israeli forces entered the facility undercover and assassinated the men'.

Hamas on Monday fired its first volley of rockets for weeks into Israeli cities, proving it still had the capability to launch them after nearly four months of war.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said on Tuesday that Israel killed 215 Palestinians and wounded 300 others in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
