Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a boy, 14, was stabbed numerous times with a ten-inch blade in Islington, north London.

The two suspects, aged 14 and 15, were arrested on Monday morning after their alleged victim, 14, was found on Sunday by Metropolitan police officers with a "number of stab wounds" near Archway in Fairbridge Road, Islington, shortly before 7pm.

The victim remains in severe but stable condition. Following the incident he was airlifted to an east London hospital, the Met reported.

Another suspect, aged 11, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but the Met said he has since been "de-arrested and released from custody."

Local resident and journalist Amina Taylor described how a fight involving two male adults and two teenagers had erupted before the perpetrator made his way to the group with a "big" knife.

"We could all see the knife in his hand. It was that big," she said.

Footage of the unbelievable moment notorious French gangster Redoine Faid broke out of prison in a helicopter has been shared online. The sensational escape left authorities stunned, Sunday.

Video taken by another inmate at Reau prison in the Paris region shows Faid make his daring escape from the prison grounds. Loud cheers can be heard as the helicopter soars beyond the jail.

The dramatic jailbreak took place after a helicopter pilot was taken hostage by three gunmen and forced to land at the prison.

The three accomplices successfully helped Faid escape and later landed the aircraft 37 miles from the prison before setting it alight and fleeing in a black Renault car.

After right-wing Patriot Prayer marchers clashed with local anti-fascist protesters in a violent brawl in downtown Portland, Oregon, local police have declared a riot.

The rally, led by Patriot Prayer founder and Republican US Senate candidate Joey Gibson, drew more than 150 supporters near Schrunk Plaza on Saturday evening. Opposing protesters showed and soon-enough a violent brawl broke out with people using fireworks, eggs, rocks, bottles and construction equipment, prompting police to revoke the Patriot Prayer protest permit and to declare a riot situation.

Family of 11 found in India's capital, most blindfolded & hanged

An Indian family of 11 has been found dead in New Delhi, with 10 members blindfolded and hanging from a ceiling. Initial reports indicate a twisted spiritual mass suicide attempt, but police aren't discounting other possibilities.

The bodies of seven women and four men were discovered in the Burari suburb of the Indian capital on Sunday by their neighbor, who called the police in shock over what he has witnessed.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered 10 blindfolded bodies, with cotton stuffed in their ears, hanging from an iron grille in the home's courtyard, suspended by cables and 'chunnis' (scarves with religious motifs), local media report. The body of an 11th person, reportedly in her seventies, was found strangled and lying on the floor of the house.

The victims, which police say belonged to a single family, are believed to have committed a mass religious suicide, as authorities failed to discover any forced entry, gunshot wounds, or anything that would clearly indicate a homicide.

London mother tells Mayor Khan: "We don't feel safe, do something about it!"

khan london
London Mayor Sadiq Khan was given both barrels at a 'State of London' LBC event last night, with a lady in the crowd telling him straight: "We don't feel safe anymore".

Receiving support from the crowd as she spoke, the woman told Mayor Khan: "There are no bobbies on our street, Londoners don't feel safe, our communities don't feel safe.

"You give me statistics Mr. Khan, but for me as a parent, I'm telling you, we do not feel safe.

"We do not feel safe in London and we want you to do something about it!"

The wave of violence in the capital is truly disturbing. This year in London there have already been 81 murder investigations, compared to 83 in the whole of 2014.

Sadly, many of the victims are young. Just the other day a 15-year-old was stabbed to death in Romford.

Oregon Supreme Court kills assault weapon ban due to use of 'vague & deceptive language'

firearm handgun
On Wednesday, Oregon's Supreme Court refused to approve Initiative Petition 43 - a state ballot proposal for an assault weapon and high-capacity magazine ban - due to the initiative's repeated use of vague and misleading language and outright false claims to describe the proposed law to voters. Furthermore, the court directed Oregon's attorney general to revise the language of the initiative to comply with state laws requiring Oregonians to be accurately informed about the law's key provisions at the ballot box.

However, even if the necessary revisions were made to the gun control initiative's language, supporters of the measure would need to collect 88,184 signatures by July 6th to get it on this year's ballot. Furthermore, the collection of those signatures could not legally start until Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum made the revisions to the ballot language required by the court. Given these legal roadblocks, multiple local news sources were not optimistic about the initiative's chances for success.

Best of the Web: Political earthquake in Mexico: Leftist AMLO achieves historic landslide election victory

Baseball-loving nationalist who counts Jeremy Corbyn as a friend will be the new president

A baseball-loving left-wing nationalist who has vowed to crack down on corruption, rein in Mexico's war on drugs and rule for the poor has been elected president of Latin America's second-largest economy.

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, a silver-haired 64-year-old who is best known as Amlo and counts Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn among his friends, was elected with at least 53% of the vote, according to a quick count by Mexico's electoral commission.

López Obrador's closest rival, Ricardo Anaya from the National Action party (PAN), received around 22% while José Antonio Meade, a career civil servant running for the Institutional Revolutionary party, or PRI, which ruled Mexico for most of last century, came in third with around 16%.

Addressing the media after those results were announced, López Obrador vowed to repay the trust put in him by millions of Mexicans. "I will govern with rectitude and justice. I will not fail you. I will not disappoint you. I won't betray the people," he said.

Mexico's president-elect vowed to rule for people of all social classes, all sexual orientations and all points of view. "We will listen to everyone. We will care for everyone. We will respect everyone," he said. "But we will give priority to the most humble and to the forgotten."

Comment: Many have observed that there are similarities between Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Donald Trump. Although they come from opposite sides of the political spectrum, both won because they were seen as outsiders from the establishment, and the proof was that they were both demonized by the media. Yet the more they were attacked, the more popular they became.

For several decades only the corrupt PRI party and the center-right party PAN have occupied the presidency of Mexico. This will be the first president that comes holding a 'left' wing flag. How far left he will be taking things is yet to be seen.

UCLA professor dies in BDSM 'mummification' ritual at Hollywood executive's home

Doran George
© UCLADoran George, 48, died inside the home of a Hollywood executive in November 2017.
A California university professor died during a bondage session at the home of a Hollywood executive that went horribly wrong.

Doran George, 48, was found dead inside the home of Skip Chasey, an executive for Hollywood's William Morris Endeavor agency and known in the BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Dominance and Submission) community as "Master Skip," on Nov. 19, 2017.

George, who was born Duncan Gilbert and did not use gendered pronouns, had been wrapped "head to toe in plastic wrap and gaffer's tape, with small breathing holes at the nose and mouth," according to an autopsy report obtained late last week by Variety.

Comment: It's obviously tragic when someone dies due to accident, but is it really surprising that someone engaging in sick and dangerous BDSM practices died when it got too extreme? With the current culture of widespread acceptance of all lifestyles (except white and/or Christian), no one will say the truth - people practicing BDSM have a mental disorder which should be condemned, not encouraged.

And to think this man was a professor at UCLA, teaching impressionable young people.

Best of the Web: Moscow in meltdown as Russia celebrates historic World Cup win

russia spain win
A banner in the Luzhniki stadium called for a fairy tale, and a fairy tale is what they got. With a penalty-kick over highly-fancied Spain, Russia scored a most improbable victory, and one of the knock-out shocks of World Cup history.

It was, perhaps, Russia's most famous triumph since 1945. All across the capital, citizens began to party as such. From cars, and from bars, Russians chanted the name of their country in unison. "Ros-si-ya, Ros-si-ya."

In the central Chistye Prudi district, traffic ground to a halt as two men, deep in alcoholic haze, staggered back and forth across the main boulevard, flags draped across their shoulders.

Comment: Russia's World Cup just gets better and better!

Russophobes everywhere are FUMING. Not only is the tournament obliterating their propaganda arsenal, the Russian team is winning. That is NOT supposed to happen!

Spare a thought for Russian security services. It's either miraculous that there have been no 'ally ackbars' thus far, or it's been thanks to their brilliant (and non-instrusive) policing/surveillance.

Man charged with threatening to kill FCC Chairman's family over net neutrality

FCC chairman Ajit Pai
© Jacquelyn Martin/AP PhotoMarkara Man emailed FCC chairman Ajit Pai (pictured) and listed the names and addresses of three preschools near Pai’s home, followed by, "I will find your children and I will kill them," according to the affidavit against Man.
A California man is charged with threatening to kill FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's children because he was "angry" about the repeal of net neutrality regulations, the Justice Department said today.

Markara Man, 33, of Norwalk was arrested in Los Angeles and charged with threatening to murder an immediate family member of a U.S. official.

Prosecutors say Man sent three emails to Pai in December 2017, the month the Republican-led FCC voted to repeal the Obama-era net neutrality rules.
