The Orange Worry

Here's a What If? scenario that could help to explain the otherwise inexplicable events of the past four-ish years.

It begins with the orchestrated removal of Donald Trump from office via "the pandemic," which made feasible an unprecedented and still unaccounted for increase in the number of votes awarded to Joe Biden, an improbable candidate who hardly campaigned for the office yet won it (so we were told) by winning even more votes than Barack Obama at the peak of his popularity.

The 2024 re-election of Donald Trump revealed this disparity - via millions fewer votes cast, which is strongly suggestive of something sketchy back in 2020.

Joe Biden assumed the office - legally if not necessarily legitimately.

Almost immediately, the message is projected that anyone who wants to come across the border can and should come across the border. From wherever. It doesn't matter. No problemo! Just come. Millions apparently have. This predictably created a politically potent issue for the now-former president to rally his supporters around. Trump's successful re-election effort was largely propelled by angst and anger about not just the deliberate importation of those millions but also the preferential status enjoyed by those millions. The myriad petty tyrannies imposed on Americans did not seem to be imposed on them. An American citizen who gets caught driving without a license goes to the clink. An "immigrant" - as these non-citizen foreigners here illegally are effronterously styled - gets a debit card loaded with thousands of dollars of "free" spending money. Maybe also a "free" room in a hotel most Americans can't afford to stay in.

It was deliberately egregious. As if designed to provoke a counter-reaction.

Flashback Best of the Web: How & Why Government, Universities, & Industry Create Domestic Labor Shortages of Scientists & High-Tech Workers

scientist, chemist, chemistry, chemistry set, science
Long term labor shortages do not happen naturally in market economies.
Upcoming labor market shortages will devastate Science and Engineering.
This was a mantra heard through much of the 1980s. And yet, the predicted "seller's market" for talent never materialized as unemployment rates actually spiked for newly minted PhDs in technical fields. In fact, most US economists seemed to think that the very idea of labor market shortages hardly made sense in a market economy since wages could simply rise to attract more entrants.

In the late nineties, in the course of research into immigration, I became convinced that our US high skilled immigration policy simply did not add up intellectually. As I studied the situation, it became increasingly clear that the groups purporting to speak for US scientists in Washington DC (e.g. NSF, NAS, AAU, GUIRR) actually viewed themselves as advocates for employers in a labor dispute with working scientists and were focused on undermining scientists' economic bargaining power through labor market intervention and manipulation.

Increasingly the research seemed to show that interventions by government, universities and industry in the US labor market for scientists, especially after the University system stopped growing organically in the early 1970s were exceedingly problematic. By 1998, it was becoming obvious that the real problems of high skilled immigration were actually rather well understood by an entire class of policy actors who were not forthcoming about the levers of policy they were using to influence policy. The NSF/NAS/GUIRR complex appeared to be feigning incompetence by issuing labor market studies that blatantly ignored wages and market dynamics and instead focused on demographics alone.

Comment: It would make sense that the H-1B visa program was originally intended to artificially suppress Ph.D. wages and provide other benefits to US employers since US employers have used it effectively for this purpose. The years since the original writing of this article and the revelations that have come out as a result of the recent X debates have just reinforced Weinstein's proposition and analysis.

The passenger jet had also been rendered inoperable by electronic warfare means, Ilham Aliyev has claimed.

The passenger jet that crashed in Kazakhstan earlier this week had been struck from the ground near the Russian city of Grozny, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev has claimed.

An Embraer 190, operating as Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 from Baku to Grozny, diverted to Kazakhstan and crashed on Wednesday, killing 38 of the 67 people on board.

In a Sunday interview with the state-run broadcaster AzTV, Aliyev claimed that the aircraft "was damaged from the outside on Russian territory, near the city of Grozny, and almost got out of control."
"We are also aware that our aircraft was rendered uncontrollable by electronic warfare means... In addition, the tail section of the plane was severely damaged by fire from the ground," he said.

Amazon sparks outrage after cutting important scene from film classic, 'It's a Wonderful Life'

Fans of the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life are livid over Amazon's abridged version of the movie on its streaming service.

The 1946 hit film, which follows the life of businessman and banker George Bailey, sparked outrage after Amazon cut a pivotal portion.

Amazon's abridged version doesn't include what many consider "the most important scene," known as the "Pottersville scene," in which George wishes he had never been born, prompting his guardian angel to remind him that he needs to earn "his angel wings." Outraged fans said the scene sets up the rest of the movie and, without it, the movie abruptly jumps between scenes without the full context of the story.

Japan's road to nowhere

Here in Japan we have an example of an unpopular prime minister who got a drubbing at the polls doubling down on stupid.

We saw that with Macron in France, in Germany with Scholz, and of course in Canada with Trudeau. So it is not just a Japanese thing. Ishiba, however, is the successor to the hugely unpopular Kishida who succeeded the ever so unpopular Suga. There's a trend here, which tells you something about the evolution of Japanese politics, keeping in mind that politics in Japan are not quite like those in any other country.

Each of the recent Japanese PMs were selected by their party, with a lot of backroom wheeling and dealing. The

Japanese people are used to that. Japan is essentially a one-party state, rather less democratic than China where the CCP has to be responsive to public needs, unlike Japan where the LDP is only really responsive to corporate and bureaucratic elites — Wolferen's "iron triangle".

Ishiba, aware of his successor's signature unpopularity, held an election in October, to make a pretense of being democratic.

His coalition however lost its majority in the lower house. Now he is talking about a general election in late Spring or early summer to confirm his policies, especially his recent budget which boosted defense spending to a record 8.7 trillion yen.

Yes, Japan will be buying Aegis systems with Tomahawk missiles, more F35s, investing in the UK-Italian 6th Generation joint fighter project. It has a shopping list to show it is a loyal American ally in the US's Pacific alliance.

Director of one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza arrested and beaten in IDF raid

The Israeli military says the hospital was being used as a Hamas command centre and more than 240 terrorists were held. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization says it is "appalled" by Friday's raid.

The director of one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza was arrested in a raid the Israeli military said was targeting a Hamas command centre.

The Hamas-run Palestinian health ministry said Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, was held by Israeli forces on Friday along with dozens of other staff and taken to an interrogation centre.

Comment:

"The occupation soldiers flogged Dr. Hussam Abu Safia with a street electrical wire (worse than a whip). They call it the Norwegian wire. After they forced him and other members of the Kamal Adwan Hospital staff to take off their clothes.

This happened at the field investigation headquarters in the Al-Fakhoura area before they took him to an unknown location. This is the testimony of one of those released today, and he witnessed it himself. The appropriate speech is the promotional video published by the occupation army to try to mislead and claim to treat the doctor and the rest of the patients well."

Denis Rancourt Interview - The COVID-19 Illusion: Biological Stress-Induced Bacterial Pneumonia

Covid-19 Illusion
Joining me today once again is Denis Rancourt PhD, here to discuss his newest study breaking down the illusion that is COVID-19. We review his previous work on the topic highlighting how it is a clear mathematical possibility for a government to use preexisting illness numbers and conflate them with a current focus, combining that with false positives from PCR tests and deadly treatments (pre-COVID injection), all to create an illusion of a "novel" illness — whether a virus was ever there to begin with, or exists at all. We also discuss the (very well known) deleterious effects of lockdowns, masks, and of course the very deadly modRNA injections, and how all of these only added to this illusion when their effects were also conflated with the ever-shifting claims of the alleged "COVID-19" symptoms. We then discuss Denis' recent research around the idea of what's called "biological stress-induced transmission-less bacterial pneumonia" and the profound impact this has on the entire conversation, and to a degree, even bridges the gap between those who believe in terrain theory and those who believe in germ theory.

Comment: As Denis says, more or less, there is much more for him to learn through his ongoing research, when it comes to terrain vs. germ theory, and one needs to listen closely to the nuances in which he speaks.

In Rancourt's 2024-12-13 writing, one can read what the so-called pandemic was not - not that those individual elements had no significance, no, what it was in 'the big picture' may simply come down to this:
In the big picture, the elite structures viciously attacked us and our sick and elderly and children. In the big picture, this was an unprecedented mass assault against our populations perpetrated by evil design at the highest levels, enabled by the indoctrinated and spineless professional classes (politicians, clinicians, scientists, judges, media, executives...).
Regarding Rancourt's published writing (2024-10-29) on the subject of Germ theory critical excess? My present discomfort with absolute denial of "germ theory," can be read here.

As SOTT.net readers are well aware, the germ theory question was previously discussed back in 2020, thus, "why not both?"

Israeli prosecutors order investigation into Netanyahu's wife

The prime minister's spouse has been accused of witness tampering during her husband's corruption trial.

Israeli authorities have opened an investigation into Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, over allegations that she attempted to influence a witness involved in her husband's ongoing corruption trial.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara announced the probe on Tuesday in response to an exposé aired by Israeli Channel 12 last week.
"An investigation should be opened into suspicions of witness harassment and obstruction of justice regarding the findings of the Uvda show. The rule of law applies to everyone. We will thoroughly investigate any attempts to interfere with the judicial process."
Channel 12 showed WhatsApp messages in which it said Sara Netanyahu instructed a former aide to organize protests against political opponents and intimidate a key witness, according to AP.

Comment: This is not Sara's first investigation for corruption.

Gaza babies 'freezing to death' amid Israel's inhumane blockade: UNRWA

UNRWA is warning that more babies are losing their lives due to a severe temperature drop and lack of shelter in Gaza.

In the past week, at least four infants have died of hypothermia from low temperatures and a lack of warmth while living in tents in the besieged Strip.

On Friday, the head of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, said in a message on X:
"Gaza babies are freezing to death due to cold weather and a lack of shelter. Blankets, mattresses, and other winter supplies have been stuck in the region for months waiting for approval to get into Gaza."
Lazzarini once again called for an immediate ceasefire, urging "an immediate flow of much-needed basic supplies, including for winter." Such calls are apparently of no use within the international community given Israel's relentless campaign of genocide in Gaza since October 2023.

Deconstructing Elon

Fish swim in schools - and so do some people. If the "school" suddenly veers off in this direction or that direction, the fish go in that direction.

All of a sudden, the "fish" - on the Right - are going in Elon Musk's direction. The same fish who used to swim in the opposite direction. They changed direction because . . . well . . . that's hard to divine.

It may be on account of Musk backing Trump, which caused the fish who swim to the Left to stop swimming in Musk's direction. And the fish on the Right to swim back in his direction for exactly that reason. The fish on the Right who used to (righty) object to Musk's Tesla grift for a variety of entirely sound reasons - among them the "making cool" of electric vehicles, as if they were "the future" rather than a failure from the past rebooted - as well as his endorsement of the "climate change" nonsense and the attendant taxing of "carbon" that he favors - about which all has apparently been forgotten.

Having used the government to enrich himself he now says he wants to make the government more "efficient." Kind of like the "mending" - rather than ending - of Obamacare.

He also says we ought to be worried about AI and creepy robots - while pouring resources into developing both. A technocrat who pretend to be a humanist.
