Israeli soldier criticised for photographing Palestinian children in midnight raid on their home

A video has emerged showing an Israeli soldier lining up school-aged Palestinian children and photographing them in a nighttime raid on their home. The video shines a light on the military's tactics in the occupied West Bank, which activists say violate Palestinian rights.

The video was released Wednesday by the Israeli rights group B'tselem and shows soldiers in a Palestinian home after dark. The Palestinian adults are seen gathering up the children from the home — some of them appearing to have been roused from sleep — and ushering them onto a balcony. A girl is seen crying, and a woman comforts her by saying "it's just routine."

The soldier raises his phone to take a picture of the children — many of them grade-schoolers and younger — and implores them to "say cheese."

Best of the Web: Terrorist plows SUV into Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing at least 5 people and injuring 40

Comment: Ordinarily this would be frontpage news as 'a terror attack' from Waukesha to Moscow within minutes of it occurring. The media is covering this atrocity, but seems to be going out of its way to report minimal details...

A car drove through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Sunday afternoon, leaving at least five people dead and more than 40 injured, including children, authorities said.

Dozens of emergency officials responded after the incident around 4:40 p.m. local time. A livestream video of the event appears to show a red SUV speeding through the parade route, troubling those gathered on the street. A police vehicle is seen rushing through the crowd soon afterward before the attendees begin to disperse.

The city's police chief, Dan Thompson, said authorities have identified one person of interest who is in custody, although he added that officers were still probing a "very fluid investigation." The chief added that the scene was safe and there were no further threats to the public.

At least 11 adults and 12 children were transported to six area hospitals after the incident. Many more people took themselves to the hospital, authorities said. Officials did not provide any further details about the ages of those who died.

"Tonight was a traumatic situation for the city of Waukesha," the city's mayor, Shawn Reilly, said. "We don't have all the details. We can't provide details at this point."

Comment: Waukesha is about 60 miles' drive from Kenosha, suggesting a potential motive; someone didn't like the outcome of the Rittenhouse trial.

Remember when someone drove his car into a crowd of people in Charlottesville in 2017, killing ONE, and everyone from there to Timbuktu was force-fed the video of it happening and the mugshot of the 'white supremacist' who did it?

In this instance, the media is 'respecting the victims' by not repeatedly showing footage of it, and most certainly not mentioning the facts - uncovered by citizen journalists doing what the media dare not do - that the perpetrator is a BLACK FAR-LEFT SYMPATHIZER WITH A LONG CRIMINAL RECORD...

There's footage of the terror attack in the second half of this video [it's grainy and filmed from a distance, so although it's of course disturbing, it's not graphic]:

Here's footage of the terrorist beginning his attack by entering the street on which the parade took place:

Facebook reportedly contacted the Los Angeles Police Department demanding that they stop setting up fake profiles to spy on suspects

BBC News reports that Facebook (now known as Meta) has formally contacted the LAPD to request that the police department stop using fake profiles on Facebook's platform to surveil its users. It was recently revealed that the U.S. police department had been working with a tech firm that analyzes Facebook user profiles in an effort to solve crimes.

Facebook has taken a harsh stance against fake accounts on the platform, stating that it intends to "create a safe environment where people can trust and hold one another accountable."

Facebook's vice president and deputy general counsel for civil rights Roy Austin stated in a letter:
Not only do LAPD instructional documents use Facebook as an explicit example in advising officers to set up fake social media accounts, but documents also indicate that LAPD policies simply allow officers to create fake accounts for 'online investigative activity'.

While the legitimacy of such policies may be up to the LAPD, officers must abide by Facebook's policies when creating accounts on our services. The Police Department should cease all activities on Facebook that involve the use of fake accounts, impersonation of others, and collection of data for surveillance purposes.
According to documents obtained by the Brennan Center of Justice via public record requests, in 2019 the LAPD used Voyager Labs' social media surveillance software to monitor suspects and collect data from their accounts and those of their friends.

Investigation launched into abnormal spike in newborn baby deaths in Scotland, highest since records began

Scotland baby neonatal
There were 21 neonatal deaths recorded in Scotland in September. The monthly mortality rate is the highest since current records began in July 2017, and similar to levels which were the norm in the late 1980s
AN investigation has been launched into a spike in deaths among newborn babies in Scotland.

Official figures reveal that 21 infants died during September within 28 days of birth, causing the neonatal mortality rate to breach an upper warning threshold known as the 'control limit' for the first time in at least four years.

Control and warning limits are designed to flag up to public health teams when neonatal, stillbirth or other infant deaths are occurring at unexpectedly high or low levels which may not be due to chance.

Comment: This comes on the heels of a report from the UK there's been a spike of up to 20,000 excess deaths in the last 4-5 months.

Mystery emerges among COVID-19 patterns In Los Angeles County

Los Angeles County hospital
© Mario Tama/Getty ImagesDuring a two-week period ending Nov. 6, several of the Los Angeles County communities with the highest rates of coronavirus cases are also communities that have higher than average vaccination rates.
Officials are trying to understand why some of LA's highest coronavirus case rates are currently in communities with high vaccination rates.

While unvaccinated people continue to become infected, hospitalized and killed by the coronavirus at dramatically higher rates, a peculiar pattern is developing in Los Angeles County that has health officials puzzling for an explanation.

During a two-week period ending Nov. 6, several of the Los Angeles County communities with the highest rates of coronavirus cases are also communities that have higher than average vaccination rates. Authorities aren't quite sure why that would be. Differences in behavior or waning immunity from vaccines may be factors. People in those communities may also have lower levels of natural immunity due to historically low levels of coronavirus exposure.

Comment: It is called cognitive dissonance. It is when they can see only what they want to see, not the real facts. And the real fact tells us that the vaccinated people are spreading the infection and that they can also be infected and even have worse symptoms than unvaccinated.

So, why vaccinate people at all when in the end the vaccination gains are only the vaccination passports. Is this all about totalitarian control over the people disguised as public health care?

Department of Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said authorities are trying to examine what factors are in play in individual communities that have above-average vaccination rates but still had among the highest new-case rates. One common denominator appears to be age. Younger people are driving this pandemic, Ferrer said.

The median age of people becoming infected ranges from 26 to 36, meaning young people are driving the numbers. More than half of the county's confirmed COVID-19 cases to date have been among people 18 to 49-year-old, according to county health officials.
"I will say the one thing that does jump out -- the average ages were very low in all these communities," she said. "This is, essentially, in the communities with the highest rates, this is a pandemic that is in fact fueled by younger people."

Comment: They finished with the sick and elderly people and now they are coming for the young and children.

Covid Is Over (If You Want It)

War is over banner John Lenon
This holiday season, lets all exhale, gift ourselves peace and freedom from the psychological burden of the pandemic, turn off the media and get back to what's important.

The title of this blog post is, of course, an homage to the classic John Lennon Christmas song "Happy XMas (War is Over)", which then spurred the popularity of the phrase "War is Over! (If You Want It)".

Despite my distaste for Yoko Ono (and John Lennon being one of my least favorite Beatles), the song is undeniably one of the greatest ever written, both musically and lyrically.

You don't own your Tesla!

An interesting item in the news the other day got almost no attention.

The thing that got attention in the news was the news that a " . . .problem with Tesla servers on Friday once again left hundreds of drivers unable to enter and operate their electric cars."

No analysis of the italicized implications was offered.

Ergo, it's well to considering them.

For the past 120 years or so - since the first cars began rolling under their own power - it was taken as a given that the people who owned them controlled them. The keys were a physical symbol of ownership because he who held the keys controlled the car. Parents would threaten to withhold the keys from their teenaged drivers, if their grades slipped, for instance.

But once you were no longer a kid, if you held the keys then the car was yours. You used to see dangling-suggestively keys in car ad copy; the implication being - this could be yours (and by implication, no one else's).

Not anymore.

Huge numbers of people in dozens of cities all over the world recently turned out for protests against mandatory vaccinations and other government pandemic measures. Most state and 'private' media apparently missed them ('cause they're not reporting on them) so on this NewsReal Joe and Niall run through some of the highlights - including police apparently shooting at protesters with live rounds in The Netherlands.

But first up this week: the Rittenhouse trial outcome, the discreet 'retraction' of the Steele dossier, the new Oliver Stone documentary JFK Revisited, and the 'hidden hand' that has been faking news ad nauseum since 1963...

The media's verdict on Rittenhouse was composed of nothing but lies

Kyle rittenhouse jury selection
© Sean Krajacic-Pool/Getty ImagesKyle Rittenhouse pulls numbers of jurors out of a tumbler during his trial at the Kenosha County Courthouse on November 16, 2021
Why so many got this story so wrong.

Here is what I thought was true about Kyle Rittenhouse during the last days of August 2020 based on mainstream media accounts: The 17-year-old was a racist vigilante. I thought he drove across state lines, to Kenosha, Wisc., with an illegally acquired semi-automatic rifle to a town to which he had no connection. I thought he went there because he knew there were Black Lives Matter protests and he wanted to start a fight. And I thought that by the end of the evening of August 25, 2020, he had done just that, killing two peaceful protestors and injuring a third.

It turns out that account was mostly wrong.

Unless you're a regular reader of independent reportingJacob Siegel of Tablet Magazine and Jesse Singal stand out for being ahead of the pack (and pilloried, like clockwork, for not going along with the herd) — you would have been served a pack of lies about what happened during those terrible days in Kenosha. And you would have been shocked over the past two weeks as the trial unfolded in Wisconsin as every core claim was undermined by the evidence of what actually happened that night.
