Maine's top election official could face an impeachment attempt in the state Legislature over her decision to keep former President Donald Trump off the Republican primary ballot.

At least one Republican lawmaker has vowed to pursue impeachment against Democratic Secretary of State Shenna Bellows despite long odds in the Democratic-controlled Legislature.

Bellows said Friday that she had no comment on the impeachment effort, but said she was duty-bound by state law to make a determination on three challenges brought by registered Maine voters. She reiterated that she suspended her decision pending an anticipated appeal by Trump in Superior Court.
"Under Maine law, I have not only the authority but the obligation to act," she said. "I will follow the Constitution and the rule of law as directed by the courts," she added.

Comment: The PTB is making big efforts to keep Trump out of this year's elections because they know that the majority of people will vote for him.

Israel says it will pull out thousands of troops from Gaza (and that the war there "won't end in 2024")

The Israeli military has announced that it will withdraw thousands of its soldiers from the besieged Gaza Strip in the first significant pullback of troops since the war there began in October.

Israel has come under increasing pressure from its principal ally, the United States, to move to a more low-intensity war that has fewer civilian casualties.

Comment: Not quite, because the US, and UK, have been openly supplying Israel with weapons and intelligence data with no conditions attached.

But in the southern city of Khan Younis, fierce fighting has continued as Israel reaffirms its pledge to press on with the war until its goals have been achieved, including destroying the Palestinian group Hamas, which killed around 1,140 people in attacks on southern Israel on October 7, according to Israeli officials.

Comment: Numerous Israeli officials have publicly stated a variety of goals, including the complete eradication of Palestinians.

Comment: There have been reports that Israel will allow some humanitarian aid to enter the country.

However, considering the dire situation that the Gazans are suffering, perhaps Israel feels confident that the current hunger and unsanitary conditions will do some of the 'work' of killing Gazans, whilst its troops 'rest'?

UN warns Gaza faces imminent threat of starvation, thirst, and disease outbreaks due to Israel's blockade

Another horrifying aspect of this 'drawdown' is that an Israeli spokesman has said "this war will not end in 2024," suggesting a long, drawn-out strangulation of the civilian population...

Iran's Alborz warship has entered the Red Sea through the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait, Iran's Tasnim news agency has reported, at a time of heightened tensions over the globally important waterway.

"The Alborz destroyer entered the Red Sea ... by passing through the Bab al-Mandeb" waterway at the southern tip of the Red Sea, connecting with the Gulf of Aden in the Indian Ocean, the news agency said on Monday.

It added that Iran's naval fleet has been operating in the area "to secure shipping lanes, repel pirates, among other purposes since 2009".

Who is Norm Eisen?

Eisen

The Mastermind Behind the Campaign to Thwart Trump

The intricate web of political tactics deployed against former President Donald Trump unveils a key orchestrator: Norm Eisen. As a co-founder of the Voter Protection Program and a significant figure in the Transition Integrity Project (TIP), Eisen's involvement in shaping strategies to impede Trump's political journey is becoming increasingly evident. His role extends beyond mere opposition; it represents a calculated effort to influence critical decisions and events that have left indelible marks on the American political narrative.

Eisen's influence is particularly discernible in two major political junctures: the absence of National Guard deployment on January 6th and the legal maneuvers leading to Trump's disqualification from the 2024 presidential ballot. These instances are not isolated events but rather elements of a broader, cohesive strategy aimed at neutralizing Trump's influence in American politics. This article delves into Eisen's multifaceted role, uncovering the tactics and implications of his actions in the grander scheme of American political dynamics. From his advisory role in state-level decisions to his legal orchestrations at the federal level, Eisen emerges as a central figure in the concerted efforts to challenge Trump's political legitimacy and aspirations.

Former US Marine: West can't grasp Russia's technological supremacy on battlefield

An analyst spoke frankly with Sputnik about how the United States fell behind Russia in developing the weapons and tools that will define modern warfare.

As 2023 comes to a close, observers are drawing lessons from another year of fighting in eastern Ukraine. Brian Berletic, a geopolitical analyst and former US Marine, sat down with Sputnik to discuss the state of military technology employed in the conflict as Western weapons are put to the test against their increasingly sophisticated Russian analogues.

Berletic noted how Western objectives in recent years shaped emergent military technology. In the 21st century US-led coalitions have focused mostly on war in the Middle East, combatting guerilla fighters or small armies in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria.

Berletic said this focus has damaged the West's ability to compete with more professional militaries, noting:
"The US and its allies neglected for decades crucial areas of defense technology including air defense and electronic warfare. They have focused instead on technology and tactics meant to fight irregular forces in failed states across the developing world from North Africa to Central Asia."
The West's need to play technological catch up was displayed vividly in 2022 when Russia unveiled powerful new hypersonic weapons, a technology not yet obtained by any other country.

Ukraine mounts massive series of attacks on Russian city, killing at least 14

Russia's Belgorod region, which lies just north of Kharkiv in Ukraine, was rocked by Ukrainian drone and missile fire which killed at least 14 people, with over 100 injured, according to revised updates. Russia's defense ministry said:
"According to updated information, 12 adults and two children were killed in Belgorod. Another 108 people, including 15 children, were injured."
The death toll was so high due to the strikes on a residential area, the region's governor Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov indicated. While this Russian border region has throughout the war come under repeat cross-border attack, it has been relatively quiet of late, with only smaller sporadic mortar or drone attacks. In one instance a centrally located Christmas attraction, said to be (according to unverified reports) a skating rink with many children, came under fire...
Russia's defense ministry described a broader attack on Russian territory Saturday during which time the military intercepted and destroyed dozens of inbound missiles and drones.

Jack Smith disputes Trump's 'absolute' presidential immunity claim in appeals court

Says granting presidents such power would be 'dangerous'

Special Counsel Jack Smith on Saturday urged a federal appeals court to reject former President Donald Trumps claim that he has presidential immunity against criminal charges for seeking to overturn his defeat in the 2020 election.

Smith, who is overseeing the prosecution, argued in a court filing that nothing in the Constitution or American legal tradition supports giving former presidents 'absolute immunity' from criminal charges for action taken while in office.

Smith said creating such a legal shield would place presidents above the law, a precedent he argued 'would be particularly dangerous'.

Trump has claimed that the presidency is 'cloaked with absolute immunity' from prosecution, Smith said. 'He is wrong.'

Trump, the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, is appealing a lower court ruling denying his bid to dismiss the election charges based on his claim of immunity.

The shocking truth behind the Genocide

It is mid November 2023 and this is video number 331 [check below] - all since I first exposed the covid fraud in February and March of 2020, and, at the same time, predicted a plan for a compulsory vaccination programme - long before they even had a vaccine.

Word has reached me that there are still a few people in the world who don't understand why Israel is intent on destroying Gaza, killing the inhabitants, including babies and children, and taking over control of the land, coastline and sea bed. Thinking people find it difficult to understand why any nation should commit so many war crimes and enthusiastically welcome its status as the world's latest rogue state, a terrorist nation guilty of the worst genocide most people can remember witnessing. Hospitals, ambulances, and refugee camps have all been bombed. You can't get much worse than that. Babies and small children have been slaughtered. The sick, the frail and the elderly have been denied food, water and fuel. And the Israelis seem unembarrassed by an endless stream of lies. We weren't there. It wasn't our fault. Martians dropped those bombs. The dog ate our homework. I've seen videos which have appalled me and left me with images I'll never eradicate from my mind.

Hourglass

2024, the year of America's reckoning?

street fog night
Will we meet the challenges or ensure the ongoing decline?

We should remember the now modern proverb of Nixon-era economic advisor Herb Stein to the effect that what cannot go on (without destroying the nation), simply will not go on.

In some sense, the country for recent years has been cruising on the fumes from prior and likely better wiser generations and institutions. In 2024, the tab for our current apathy, toxic politics, and incompetence will come due.

So next year we will likely see the climax to a number of current dangerous ideas, events, and forces, which finally will either overwhelm us or be addressed and remedied. We live in a Neronian age but can recover if we first understand how we got here and the nature of the suicide we are committing.

Why Israel slaughters with impunity

Gaza Genocide
© The Postil Magazine
We all know now that Israel can do no wrong, for it is blessed with immunity for being the eternal victim. For Israel, Hitler is the gift that keeps on giving.

We all know that the USA is complicit in the crimes, rushing more and more PMGs to Israel so it will never run short in its precise bombing of important military targets, such as churches, hospitals, schools, mosques, universities, and ordinary homes and residential high-rises.

We all know that no matter how many UN "emergency" meetings are held to rein in Israel's bloodlust, no matter how many resolutions voted on, the bombs will continue to fall, because Israel can kill as many Palestinians as it wants. There is no one to stop them.

No one seems to know, let alone care, that all the people of Gaza (2.2 million) — not just some — cannot get enough to eat each and every day, and mass starvation is happening right now.

The usual response among most people in the West is — both sides are the same (meaning, Israelis and Palestinians); they both lie and cheat and murder, it's hard to know where the truth lies. We should worry about our own countries.

If that were true, then why is it that as of now there is only side that has had over 8,000 bombed to pieces? That has had killed nearly 30,000, and left 55,000 people injured? That has had the only place given them to live turned into a wasteland? Why is it that ordinary citizens of one side have been heavily armed with the latest weapons, while those of the other side buy what they can on the black market?

Why is it that one side is well-fed and will not be worrying about food and water, while the other side must starve it out?

How exactly are both sides the same? How is it that both sides lie, cheat and kill?
