Russian MoD: ISIS carries out attacks from US-controlled 'black-hole' area near Al-Tanf base

The 100km area around the US Al-Tanf base near the Syrian-Jordanian border has become a "black hole" which ISIS terrorists use to carry out attacks against Syrian troops and civilians, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The base, set up by the US in April 2017 near the border town of Al-Tanf, is becoming a problem for Syrian troops combating Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists in Deir ez-Zor province, the statement says.

"Unlawful establishment by the US of this military base on Syria-Jordan border in April this year has been publicly justified by 'the need to conduct operations against IS,'" the statement reads.

However, "there were no reports of a single American operation against Islamic State during the six months of its existence," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

More Pelosi brain freezes? Staring at audience, waving hands and struggling to speak

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi?

While the House Minority Leader was participating in the town hall meeting televised on CNN Wednesday night, she suffered awkward brain freezes, stared at the audience, and waved her hands while she appeared to be struggling to speak.

While urging new gun laws in response to a madman's massacre of country music fans in Las Vegas, Pelosi said, "Responsible gun owners from the hills of Arizona to the duck blinds of Minnesota, all over, say, 'We're all law-abiding, we have many guns, we have as many guns as he had, but we have,' uh, we have, um, uh," she said, turning to moderator Chris Cuomo, before repeatedly waving her hands, as if emphasizing words that refused to exit her mouth.

"Background checks," she finally blurted out.

A House panel has approved legislation to provide a total of $15 billion for construction of President Donald Trump's wall along the US-Mexico border and improve ports of entry into the US.

The Border Security for America Act, proposed by Chairman of the the House Homeland Security Committee Michael McCaul (R-Texas), was approved by the committee in an 18-12 vote along party lines Wednesday.

The bill would authorize $10 billion for construction of the border wall, and another $5 billion to improve ports of entry. The bill would also add 5,000 Border Patrol agents and 5,000 Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers.

"We have been talking about border security for many years. Now that we finally have a partner in the White House who has prioritized this issue, it's time for Congress to do its part and get the job done," McCaul said in a statement.

In addition, the bill would authorize the federal government to reimburse states up to $35 million to use the National Guard in support of border security. Federal agents also would be prohibited from restricting CBP activities on federal land within 100 miles of the border. The bill would also create a Biometric Entry-Exit System at all air, land, and sea ports of entry to identify immigrants who overstay their visas.

Comment: There was so much ink spilled for and against Trump's campaign for a border wall. It's not a new idea.

Internet conspiracy theory site predicted Las Vegas attack and police state response - 3 weeks ago

The corporate police state is seeing record highs in their stock prices as fear grips Americans into submitting to less freedom for the promise of security.

In America, after every crisis, government reacts by stripping freedoms and rights to provide an illusion of security. This methodology is nothing new and, in fact, stems from the work of a 19th Century German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, known as Hegelian dialectic.

Hegelian dialectic usually presents itself in a threefold manner-a thesis, giving rise to its reaction, an antithesis, which contradicts or negates the thesis, and the tension between the two being resolved by means of a synthesis. In more simplistic terms, one can consider it thus; problem โ†’ reaction โ†’ solution.

If we apply this philosophy to the Las Vegas shooting, the problem is that a crazy person murdered dozens of people allegedly using legally obtained firearms. The reaction is that people are scared and don't want others to have guns and they want to feel safe. The solution, as presented by those exploiting this tragedy for personal and political gain, will be to increase the police state and attempt to disarm Americans.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has not found any evidence of collusion between President Donald Trump and the Russian government, the White House said, adding that Americans want Congress and the media to finally focus on more important things.

Not only is the president frustrated over allegations that Trump enlisted Moscow to help win the 2016 presidential election, but so are the American people, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the day after the Senate Intelligence Committee updated reporters about its months-long investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the US election.

"The Senate intel committee told us yesterday that after nearly nine months of investigating... it found literally zero evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. I think the American people would like them to focus on some other things," Sanders stated.

Warmonger Tony Blair thinks he should mediate Catalonia independence talks

Despite Tony Blair's failure to secure peace in the Middle East and his launching of a bloody, illegal war in Iraq, the former PM reportedly thinks he'd be a good mediator between Catalonia and Madrid as tensions over independence grow.

According to the Daily Express, Blair has put himself forward to mediate talks between the Catalan administration led by Carles Puigdemont and the conservative leadership of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in Madrid.

While Blair considers himself an expert negotiator following his involvement in the Good Friday talks in Northern Ireland, and as Middle East peace envoy for the United Nations, his critics fiercely disagree.

Blair held the UN post for eight years, but failed to secure any real progress in peace talks between Israel and Palestine. Observers of his UN role said he turned up no more than once a month, and would stay for just two or three days.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has denounced a recent act of vandalism against a monument to Soviet soldiers in southern Poland, demanding that the Polish authorities repair the damage and punish those involved.

"It was the 11th case of vandalism against our memorial sites in Poland," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti. "We are talking about the continuing bacchanalia around the military-historical legacy, the responsibility for which lies on Polish authorities," she added.

"In line with the Russian-Polish agreements in the sphere of memorials, we demand that the Polish administration repair the consequences of yet another act of vandalism, restore the original appearance of the Szczyrk monument, and also find and punish the perpetrators of this attack," Zakharova added.

The Russian Foreign Ministry posted photos of the desecrated monument to Soviet soldiers in the town of Szczyrk in the Silesian Voivodeship on its official Twitter account.

Fear-mongering: Report finds '2 million may die' if North Korea nukes Japan

As tensions rise on the Korean Peninsula, a new report has estimated that, should North Korea deploy its nuclear arsenal on Seoul and Tokyo, the death toll could be up to 2.1 million, with around 8 million injured.

Over the past few months, the stand-off, with Pyongyang on one side, and the US and its allies on the other, has been escalating, with belligerent rhetoric and provocative military posturing on both sides. Amid these tensions, a study by 38 North - a site on North Korean affairs run by Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies - has revealed the potential consequences of a nuclear strike launched by the North on its neighbors.

The report's author, Michael J. Zagurek Jr., notes that "history is replete with 'rational actors' grossly miscalculating, especially in crisis situations," and that another nuclear or missile test might trigger a hostile reaction from the United States, prompting a nuclear strike from the North Korean regime.
