I'm afraid this news item went into the " nothing to look at here, move along " basket when "Snopes" was referenced in the video, I stopped right there.
Digitaus The mention of Snopes was in relation to how they are echoing the "official narrative" promulgated by mainstream media. Which seems to be what Snopes does most of the time as far as I can tell.
If you shut down your ability to think critically just because someone mentions an organization you don't agree with you're going to miss a lot of information. "Who is trying to sell what narrative?" can be useful information in and of itself. Which is what the video was relaying.

If you buy stuff from china for cheap off of ebay you often get weird items you didn't order stuffed in along with your order. sometimes it's fortuitous.

I will go with Christian's take on this as another in the long line of control thingys. Oh no!!! Booger seeds from China.....all seeds are no good unless that come from "The Man."
Some identified rosemary, sage, lavander, hibiscus, rose, morning glory. Super scary. Lol. I mean morning glory can probably be classified as kind of sinister in a way, i suppose...
Very Simple....Seller gets names/addresses...sets up account...purchases their own product like jewelry...sends cheap seeds in place...verified buyer(shipped to address)...Seller gets to put up 5 Star review to boost search rating for product - Amazon.
BabaJaiy Sounds probable. Wouldn't there be a way to track the review relating to the delivered address? I dunno.
Comment: Apparently residents in states all across the US have received packages of seeds, as officials from states including Louisiana, Virginia, Kansas, Ohio, Washington, Kentucky, and Wyoming have sent out alerts advising people to not plant the seeds. Seed packages have also appeared in parts of Utah, Arizona, and the UK. Photos of the packages showed they were delivered through China Post, a Chinese shipping company, and often consist of Chinese writing and labels describing the contents as necklaces or rings.
