With all of the recent rain and bad weather we have had recently, it's no surprise someone captured video of a waterspout off Marathon with quite a unique view.

The waterspout, posted on only.miami's Instagram account but originally shot by Dylan Brown, is one of multiple waterspouts reported over the weekend in the Florida Keys.

With the two rounds of rain and storms Sunday -- first early in the morning then again in the afternoon -- a record amount of rain fell at DFW Airport.

Since midnight, the airport received 2.42 inches of rain. That shatters the old record of 1.32 inches that fell on June 16, 1968. Records have been kept for the DFW observation point (not always DFW Airport) since 1898.

Another round of tornadoes struck the central United States from North Dakota and Oklahoma to Indiana during the weekend.

Saturday held 29 preliminary tornado reports from the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center, but there have been no reported injuries or fatalities as of Monday morning.

Severe storms produced three tornadoes, two of which were confirmed EF2 tornadoes in Des Moines County, Iowa, that downed trees, power lines, destroyed outbuildings and "severely damaged a house off its foundation," according to an NWS storm survey. The third tornado was a confirmed EF0 west of Mediapolis.

The two EF2 tornadoes struck Oakville, Iowa, where one reached peak wind speeds of 120 mph. It destroyed a farm building, threw farm equipment 40 yards and moved a pickup truck about 20 yards, according to the NWS storm survey.

The second EF2 tornado destroyed a big farm. The survey photos from both tornadoes show wooden beams torn asunder and scattered across a field, a windshield impaled by a wooden pole and farm equipment flipped on its side.

At least five people died as of 5 a.m. Monday after rain-triggered floods and landslides hit southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local authorities said Monday.

Torrential rain swept Guangxi's Lingyun County late Sunday and triggered landslides that killed two people. Multiple vehicles were carried by flash floods at a road section from Lingyun to Baise. Rescuers have found four vehicles and three people were confirmed dead.

Strong rain also disrupted traffic and trapped 60 households in Jiumin Village. All the affected villagers have been transferred to safety.

An emergency response was activated on Sunday and police officers, firefighters and medical staff have been sent to the affected areas.

France to declare natural disaster after violent storms devastate crops in south east

Farmers in southeast France counted the costs from lost harvests on Sunday after a fierce storm battered the region with hail the size of ping-pong balls, decimating orchards and vineyards just as the summer season was kicking into high gear.

"Pretty much my entire harvest is ruined," said Gregory Chardon who grows apricots, peaches and cherries at his farm in La Roche-de-Glun in the Drome department, about an hour's drive south of Lyon.

Even the netting strung over his fields was no match for the tempest of hail which suddenly struck on Saturday afternoon, strewing the ground with damaged fruit and broken branches.

"The damage is enormous and widely spread -- cereals, greenhouse and vegetable farms, and vineyards as well," Chardon said.

In the neighbouring village of Pont-de-L'Isere, Aurelien Esprit showed apricots littering the ground and battered apple trees at his orchards in a Facebook video.

"Unfortunately the season ended for us last night. I don't think I'm going to make it this time," he said.

Comment: Last week hailstones the size of GRAPEFRUITS battered countries across Europe.

The man told officers that the woman had been "passing through Geneva" and that the storm had taken them "by surprise", Matta said.
