The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI in Spanish) reported today that the seismic activity at the volcano Turrialba increased in the last hours.

The Observatory recalled that last Saturday, nearly 75 earthquakes took place in less than 12 hours between the Irazu and Turrialba volcanoes.

The National Seismological Network said that so far is been observed the normal steam and gases plume rising from the volcano.

After more than a century inactive, seismic activity was recorded at the Turrialba volcano on January 5, 2010.

Turrialba is the second highest volcano in the country after the Irazu is located in the district of Santa Cruz, in the canton of Turrialba, in the province of Cartago.

White Island erupted last night.

The volcanic island, off the coast of the Bay of Plenty, erupted yesterday between 9.30pm and 11pm, GNS Science said.

As a consequence of this activity the Volcanic Alert Level is now raised to Level 3 (Minor Volcanic Eruption) and the Aviation Colour Code to Orange.

No eruptive activity has been seen since about 11pm yesterday.

The eruption was accompanied by a moderately elevated seismic activity, GNS said. The seismic activity is now back to normal.

Material appears to have been deposited over north side of the crater floor and up onto north crater wall. There is not yet a clear view of crater area visible from cameras.

Volcanologists are monitoring the volcano and further information will be released as soon as it is available.

At least 73 earthquakes have been recorded along a straight line between the Turrialba volcano and the Irazu volcano in less than 12 hours. Are these the two next volcanoes to explode?

The seismic and volcanic activities along The Ring of fire are currently exploding.

Between April 23 and April 24, 2016, about 73 minor earthquakes hit between two volcanoes in Costa Rica. Zoom in, just East of San Jose, the capital city, on that map to get the info about the several quakes.

The tremors form a straight line right in-between the Turrialba Volcano and the Irazu Volcano.

Last eruption of the Turrialba Volcano was on May 4, 2015. The latest eruption of the Irazu Volcano occurred on December 8, 1994.

Evacuation prepared as seismic activity of Mount Kerinci volcano increases on Sumatra, Indonesia

Mount Kerinci

Authorities are preparing routes and shelters for evacuation as seismic activity of Mount Kerinci volcano in Kerinci district of Jambi rises, officials of the country's disaster agency and volcanology agency said on Friday.

Over 10,000 people living on the slope of the volcano are vulnerable to eruption risks, Ansari, senior official of disaster agency at the district revealed.

"The activity of the volcano has been rising in recent days. So we must anticipate it," he told Xinhua by phone from the district.

Coordination among the authorities at the district and those at the provincial level has been boosted to counter the possible impacts of eruption, Ansari added.

Mount Kerinci of 3,805 meters high in Sumatra Island has witnessed small eruptions recently, Henda Gunawan, head of observation at the national volcanology agency said on Friday.

Eurasia's largest volcano Klyuchevskaya Sopka, in Russia's Far East erupted on Sunday, shooting hot ash miles into the air, the local geophysical service said.

"The eruption was detected by seismic sensors, and satellite images show that the eruption column rose 6 kilometers [3.7 miles] above sea level," a representative of the Russian agency told RIA Novosti.

The volcanic ash cloud has spread over an area of almost 13,500 square feet. It has drifted 124 miles southeast toward the Sea of Okhotsk, in the Pacific Ocean.

The San Cristobal volcano, also known as El Viejo (the old guy) is the oldest volcano in Nicaragua. Today, April 22, 2016, the volcanic peak erupted in 3 large explosions at 10:20 am, 10:22 am and 10:27 am. Volcanic unrest along the Ring of Fire.

The fire is spreading rapidly along the Ring! After Guatemala, it's now the San Cristobal volcano in Nicaragua that registered three explosions generating a plume of gas and ash.

The cameras monitoring the activity of the volcano (INETER) recorded images of the strongest explosion at 10:27 am today:

Comment: Seismic activity is also increasing, as scientists warn up to 4 quakes over 8.0 are possible under 'current conditions'.

40 volcanoes are erupting right now with 34 of them along The Ring Of Fire

Villarrica volcano, Chile

You may not have noticed, but our planet is becoming increasingly unstable. According to Volcano Discovery, 40 volcanoes around the globe are erupting right now, and only 6 of them are not along the Ring of Fire. If that sounds like a very high number to you, that is because it is a very high number. As I have written about previously, there were a total of 3,542 volcanic eruptions during the entire 20th century. When you divide that number by 100, that gives you an average of about 35 volcanic eruptions per year. So the number of volcanoes that are erupting right now is well above the 20th century's average for an entire calendar year. And of course we are witnessing a tremendous amount of earthquake activity as well. Nepal was just hit by the worst earthquake that it had seen in 80 years, and scientists are telling us that the Himalayas actually dropped by an astounding 3 feet as a result of that one earthquake. How much more does our planet have to shake before people start paying attention?

Of course the things that we have been seeing lately are part of a much larger long-term trend. Seismic activity appears to have been getting stronger over the past few decades, and now things really seem to be accelerating. The following is how one news source recently summarized what we have been witnessing...

Mexico's Popocatépetl volcano erupts sending ash almost two miles into the sky

The Popocatépetl volcano in Mexico erupted overnight, sending lava flying as far as a mile away from the mountain.

The Puebla airport, directly east of the volcano, has been closed and officials are urging residents to wear masks and avoid inhaling ash covering the city. There are approximately 25 million people who live within 62 miles, or 100 kilometers, of the active volcano.

The eruption of the 17,797-foot stratovolcano, the second highest peak in Mexico, began around 2:30AM, sending ash almost two miles into the sky.

Popocatépetl is the most active volcano in the country, with documented eruptions dating back to the arrival of the Spanish in 1519. It has been active since 1991, after being dormant for approximately half a century. Since 1993, smoke has constantly billowed from the crater.

Video shows increased activity at Yellowstone

Yellowstone eruption info

Over the past week, our planet has been hit by large earthquake after large earthquake, and according to Volcano Discovery there are 38 volcanoes around the world that are erupting right now. We have seen a dramatic spike in global seismic activity that is unlike anything that we have seen in ages, and that is why what is going on at Yellowstone is so incredibly alarming. Geologists tell us that a full-blown eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano would have up to 2,000 times the power of the Mount St. Helens volcanic eruption of 1980, and approximately two-thirds of the country would immediately become uninhabitable. As you will see below, there are signs that something big is getting ready to happen at Yellowstone, and if it does erupt all of our lives will be permanently changed forever.

I want to share with you some footage from Yellowstone that was recorded on Thursday night. In this video, it appears to be as bright as day even though it is the middle of the night, you can see a whole host of geysers steaming violently, and Old Faithful just keeps going off over and over...

Are we paying attention? 3 volcanoes erupt simultaneously on April 16, 2016: Villarrica (Chile), Mt. Cleveland (USA), Colima (Mexico)

Comment: Three separate volcanic eruptions occurred on Saturday, April 16, 2016 around the world. The day before, another eruption was recorded at Japan's Mt Aso, although it was excused as being 'small-scale.' Also worthy of note, is that there have been 5 major Earthquakes over two days preceding these eruptions, clearly a lot is happening beneath the planet's surface.
