Just how old is the Old Testament? If Moses didn't write the Pentateuch, who did? For millennia, people have thought the Hebrew Bible was as old as many of the events it depicts. In recent generations, scholars have thought it was created over a long period of time, with various authors and editors. But the writings in the Hebrew Bible may not be as ancient as we've been led to believe.

On this episode of the Truth Perspective, we'll be interviewing Russell Gmirkin, independent researcher, scholar, and author of two of the most revolutionary books in biblical studies:

• Berossus and Genesis, Manetho and Exodus: Hellenistic Histories and the Date of the Pentateuch ​(New York-London: T&T Clark, 2006)
• Plato and the Creation of the Hebrew Bible ​(London-New York: Routledge, 2016)

Russell's work radically challenges our understanding of the history of the Hebrew Bible. He demonstrates that there is simply no evidence that the Bible existed prior to the time of Alexander the Great (ca. 325 BC). All the evidence indicates that the collection of books we know of as the Hebrew Bible was written around the year 270 BC. And not only that: they relied heavily on Greek literature, particularly Plato's final work: Laws.

I didn't really know how I felt about the US presidential election until the day before, when I thought Hillary might actually win. It was a heavy and distressed feeling. It isn't easy to explain everything which informed that feeling, and I doubt even a long answer would be enough to convince an ardent 'progressive'. The issues in which Clinton has played a leading role involve intensive social programming and mountains of lies from the media, State Department, and those who mindlessly repeat their talking points.

Many progressives have expressed (and kept on expressing) their shock at how Trump could have won. To them, Trump represents all that is wrong with our world. In their eyes he's a racist, xenophobic, sexist homophobe who brings out the worst in people. But the world is not as black and white as it is often presented. It takes a sincere desire to uncover the truth, and that includes taking a look at our long-held beliefs, which takes time and requires a sincere effort to understand the world. It requires seriously considering the possibility that we're wrong, that we don't have the entire picture, and that perhaps our strongly held opinions are not as justified as we think. That's hard.

The ways in which Hillary Clinton would have been much more destructive than Trump are legion. She's been involved in more scandals during her public life than (almost) any other US politician (and that says a lot!). There was Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Chinagate, Vince Foster's mysterious death, her assistant Huma Abedin's family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, and Benghazi. Then there were the emails that led to dozens more scandals involving the sending of classified material over unsecured servers, DNC voter fraud, getting presidential debate questions from CNN, Clinton Foundation donors getting special access to the State Department, and the millions upon millions donated from terrorist-sponsors like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Oh, and in case you were lucky enough to forget, there was that super creepy 'spirit-cooking' thing involving the Podestas. The list goes on and on, but even these signs of deep corruption don't describe the worst of Hillary Clinton.

Diabetes, stroke, obesity, lower back pain, hemmorhoids and sciatica -- all diseases usually found in older people -- are striking children and young adults at greater rates. Many people have the idea that they can enjoy life in their younger years, eat and drink whatever they want, do whatever they like, and not have to worry about diseases or illnesses until they are much older. Unfortunately, this mindset coupled with a plethora of toxic foodstuffs available 24 hours a day and increasingly sedentary lifestyles has led to a world full of youngsters living in elderly bodies.

When it comes to aging, is our society so far removed from what is truly healthy that we confuse what would be considered normal with what is common? Is a sick population, of both the young and the old, our destiny? On this episode of The Health and Wellness Show we'll explore this phenomenon and its causes as well as dietary and lifestyle changes to keep your innards young and supple for as long as possible.

As soon as the headlines broke of militants having shelled a mobile Russian hospital in Aleppo, killing a female paramedic and wounding two doctors, the smell of a deliberate provocation hung heavy in the air.

How did the terrorists know where a mobile hospital was? I dare say they wouldn't. They would have to be given the coordinates by we know whom: US, UK or French intelligence.

This action is similar to the deliberate bombing of Syrian troops in Deir ez-Zor: a war crime designed to stop the liberation of Aleppo, a huge step in defeating terrorism in Syria.

It comes immediately after a Russian/US agreement on withdrawing opposition forces from Aleppo. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the plan "aims at a full withdrawal of all gunmen from the eastern part of the city, which Russia has been seeking since long," the ministry said. Experts are also expected "to coordinate the routes and timeframe of the withdrawal of all militants. As soon as this happens, a ceasefire will be put in place to begin evacuating them," the ministry said.

SOTT.net recently had the honor of being smeared as a vehicle for Russian propaganda. The dubious, anonymous "PropOrNot" site listed us as one among 200 or so such websites - witting or unwitting dupes of the Kremlin's propagandists. Thankfully, we're in mostly good company. It's hard to know whether to take them seriously or not. The site gives the impression of perhaps being a too-clever hoax, which would be hilarious given that the Washington Post among others actually takes them seriously. I mean, come on, the first thing you see on their website is a fake interview, conducted by a comedian, with two actors pretending to be Russian propagandists!)

But leaving that aside, it's still rich. Pretty much every alternative news website you can think of is included on the list. PropOrNot's logic seems to run something like this:

1. Western governments and media say A. (A is true.)
2. Russian government and media says not-A. (Not-A is not true.)
3. Alternative media also says not-A.
4. Therefore, alternative media are either witting or unwitting peddlers of Russian lies.

First, this assumes that the western media and government are telling the truth. Second, it assumes that the Russian government always lies. So the alternative media is put in awkward and contrived position: anytime the Russian government tells the truth, and the alternative media makes the same claims, the latter can simply be written off as Russian propaganda. Which is total nonsense. The fact that the people behind PropOrNot, if they're sincere in their claims, think this is the case says a lot about what they think of their readers: they think they're idiots.

Today on the Health and wellness show we will revisit the education system and the ongoing brainwashing, indoctrination and dumbing down of the youthful masses. Compulsory schooling is creating dependent children who grow up to be dependent adults, passive and timid in the face of new challenges, lacking critical thinking and basic life skills. From the looks of it compulsory education is doing more harm than good. What are the social and emotional implications of educating today's youth with useless and needless information while stifling creativity, natural curiosity and the true desire to seek meaningful knowledge? Is the growing ignorance of today's student an example of a failing education system as a whole, or is it a crowning achievement with a more sinister agenda?

Join us as we discuss a side of compulsory education that is seldom studied, researched or looked at with a critical eye. The brainwashing and indoctrination doesn't end once 12 years of mandated education is completed it continues into higher education and university as well.

In the wake of the Trumpocalypse, "fake news" has been in the news. First it was Facebook being blamed for Trump's win because of the pro-Trump fake news floating around social media in the lead-up to the election.

Then, an obscure left-wing activist college professor hastily compiled a list of "fake news" sites and posted it on her social media. The list was picked up by such fake news sites as CNN, WaPo, Boston Globe, NY Magazine, USA Today, Business Insider, and more, with recommendations for serious readers to avoid such tainted goods.

Now, the Washington Post has cited an obscure list of "Russian propaganda" websites to justify its claim that a "Russian propaganda effort" helped spread fake news during the election. Included on the list? SOTT.net, among numerous other great alternative news websites.

CNN this week suddenly discovered that chemical weapons are being used in Aleppo. No, not the multiple attacks by militants against government-held areas of Aleppo which have affected dozens of civilians and killed two Syrian soldiers. The intrepid reporters at CNN uncovered a case of a boy aged around ten apparently suffering the effects of exposure to chemical weapons in East Aleppo. No solid evidence at this point in time has been produced showing Syrian armed forces being responsible, but CNN and its brethren in the corporate media won't let a pesky little thing such as evidence stand in the way of further demonization of Bashar Al-Assad and Russia in its relentless propaganda campaign in support of regime change in Syria.

The question begging to be asked is: 'where have you been CNN for the last few months while Syrian, Russian and Iranian media have been documenting cases of chemical weapons use by militants against government held areas of Aleppo?' RT News reporters, for example, have visited hospitals in West Aleppo several times to see first-hand civilians suffering the terrifying effects of chemical weapons.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that samples taken proved that chemical weapons have been used by militants in attacks on government-held areas of Aleppo.

So frustrated has Russia become with the intransigence of the Organisation for the Prohibition for Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in not showing any enthusiasm for investigating Russia's findings, that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia is willing to take the samples to the Hague for further analysis of Russia's findings. He said the analysis of samples leaves "no doubt" that toxic substances have been used by militants.
