SOTT Focus: Vladimir Putin: Restoring Faith in Humanity

"We can no longer tolerate the current state of affairs in the world." ~ Putin, addressing the UN in September 2015, referring to Washington's strategy of using terrorist organisations for its own ends. Less than 48 hours after these words were uttered, Russian warplanes began pounding terrorist targets in Syria...

To remain on top, and to keep everyone else on their knees, the stewards of the Empire of Chaos give extremists free reign across the Earth. 76 countries are now involved in America's never-ending 'War on Terror'. The US has suffered a bitter defeat in Syria, losing the so-called Islamic State as a geopolitical chess piece to Russia's new military might, but the ideological or 'systemic' war is still being fought globally, and is far from over.

The Empire and its proxies can never really achieve victory, but they can sustain hegemony - indefinitely, they hope. Until they no longer can, countless more souls will likely be subjected to the horrors of war, proxy war and trade war. But the reality these psychopathic monsters wish to manifest seems to be losing traction in the mass mind with each passing day.

SOTT Focus: Trump's Supreme Court Nominee and the 'War on Gay Rights'

Trump gay LGBT

For all the hullabaloo regarding Trump's nomination for the Supreme Court, one would be forgiven for thinking that Dems actually care about law and order

While Lisa Page dodges a House-issued subpoena to testify before Congress, US media is up in arms over Trump's -shock- Congressional Supreme Court nominee. If we're to believe CNN, Trump's pick for the Supreme Court will, if confirmed, upend life as we know it. As that failing fake news garbage reported, "Women's rights, gay rights, voting rights, the right to use contraceptives -- so much of modern life -- could be upended."

Hyperbole aside, they're right about one thing: much of what passes for 'values' and 'culture' in modern life - better termed postmodern life - is taking a good, wholesome beating. The appointment of yet one more conservative on the Supreme Court is just the latest punch in the culture wars.

SOTT Focus: SOTT Earth Changes Summary - June 2018: Extreme Weather, Planetary Upheaval, Meteor Fireballs

ss_june
This past month of June saw many areas of the planet inundated with downpours of all shapes and sizes; from violent hailstorms and thunderstorms in parts of Asia (some of them carrying fish, shrimp and octopuses) and Europe, to an amazing mix of hurricane like winds, heavy rain, and floods in the US, Mexico and parts of South America.

Volcanic activity continues to break records around the BBM. The Kilauea volcano continued to wreak havoc on the big island of Hawaii, destroying houses and engulfing the area with toxic fumes. Meanwhile, after years of continued activity, Guatemala's Fire volcano erupted violently, causing the deaths of at least 109 people. Hundreds are still missing and entire towns were covered with meters of ash.

Other than the spectacular nature of these eruptions, the important point to remember is that all that ash saturates the upper layers of the atmosphere reflecting solar rays and promoting water condensation and ice formation. This of course is not good news given the current solar minimum.

It's quite possible that, as we move forward, global temperatures will continue to plummet, and given the massive amounts of water pouring down, next winter may well be a rough ride for many in the Northern Hemisphere.

Speaking of cold temperatures, unseasonable snow continued to make headlines even during late spring and the beginning of summer across both Northern and Southern climes. The cold snaps hit the US, Canada, Chile, Australia, Ukraine and Austria; surprising the population, and damaging crops.

Increasingly strong hailstorms and bigger hail stones have also been reported all over the world. The US, Greece, Italy, Serbia, India and Russia were the most affected this month.

SOTT Focus: Hardcore Hitler on Hitler in Helsinki

Trump Putin
Here it comes, the moment we've been waiting for, when Trump and Putin meet in Helsinki to officially launch the Destruction of Democracy, and very possibly the Apocalypse itself. That's right, folks, once again, it appears we're looking at the end of everything, because according to the corporate media, on July 16, 2018, Trump is probably going to disband NATO so that Putin can invade the Baltic states, then Germany, then the rest of Europe, and then presumably order an all-out thermonuclear strike on the United States, which will pretty much end civilization as we know it. Or perhaps the plan is to do away with NATO, withdraw all American troops from Poland, let Putin rape and pillage Western Europe, and then have North Korea nuke both coasts of the US mainland (and Canada, of course) so that a Putin-Nazified Middle Amerika will have carte blanche to exterminate the Mexicans and make women wear those "Handmaid" costumes, or some other ridiculously paranoid scenario, possibly involving Susan Sarandon as some kind of Putin-Nazi triple agent.

SOTT Focus: How The West Misjudged Asia

Dear diary, I am writing about an ingenious plan that went awry and altered the trajectory of history. The plan was conceived and implemented over a century by my colleagues and their predecessors, the smartest and the most visionary people in the world. Merely 25 years ago, the plan seemed to have come to fruition, and western intellectuals talked not only about the end of the Cold War, but the "end of history." We were excited about the imminent New World Order (which is now referred to as the "international rules-based order"). Then Asia happened.

SOTT Focus: NewsReal: Novi-shock! Devious Russians Tire of Spectacular World Cup, Poison Innocent Brits For Laughs

novichok butter
Bored stupid by having to smile for millions of foreigners enjoying the 2018 Football World Cup, the Russians last week schemed to - once again - lash out at poor old England by poisoning two more people with their dastardly 'Novichok' nerve agent. The incident came just before the OPCW released an interim report on the alleged chemical attack on Douma earlier this year (that the West used to justify firing cruise missiles at targets near Damascus and Aleppo). The report stated that no evidence of chemical weapons were found.

If you think these events are both bonkers and a little too convenient, that's because they are.

SOTT Focus: Deconstructing the US Empire: Trump's Wrecking Ball to Hit WTO Next?

sputnik radio joe quinn
Trump's been sending signals all week that he plans to either ignore the main principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO) or pull out of the body entirely, with this possible scenario representing an existential threat to the same liberal globalization model that the US created.

The crescendo of chatter about Trump's intentions towards the WTO has all the hallmarks of a brewing conflict, one which would exacerbate the Crisis of Liberalism that's engulfed the world ever since Brexit and the American President's election.

Joe Quinn, senior editor and political analyst at Sott.net, spoke with Radio Sputnik's Andrew Korybko about the stand-off.

SOTT Focus: The Truth Perspective: And Then They Came for the Psychologists: Why SJWs Can't Stand Science

Vladimir Lenin
As Jordan Peterson often says, biologists will be the next group targeted by the radical Left. But psychologists are in even more danger. In today's episode of the Truth Perspective we discuss a chapter in Dr. Andrew Lobaczewski's book Political Ponerology on the state of psychiatry and psychology under totalitarian regimes and what it means for us in the West.

Marx thought that human nature didn't exist and that 'consciousness' was solely determined by social forces. The postmodern left also believes that human nature can be shaped into their own image. They're wrong. But that won't stop them from trying to force-fit humans into their narrow ideological vision of what humanity should be like. And as history shows, the only way to attempt such folly is through the use of force and terror.

By looking at the state of psychiatry and psychology in former Communist nations, we can get a clue as to what they were trying to hide - and why psychology is so important when it comes to protecting ourselves from the terrors of mass ideological possession.

Tune in Saturday at 12 pm EDT as we take off the mask of totalitarian leftist ideology and see what lies beneath.

SOTT Focus: Western media pundits resort to hurling racist abuse: 'Russian team too white to win World Cup'

© Carl Recine / ReutersRussian joy: kryptonite to russophobes
While most of us focus on the football, many Western media outlets have used the past few weeks to promote their "issues" agenda. Amid the virtue signaling, readers are being misled about the make-up of Team Russia.

Before a ball was kicked, you could have filled a book with nasty, obnoxious, mean-spirited and loathsome takes on this year's FIFA World Cup. They ranged from predictions of Russia using chemicals to slow down England players (BBC) to British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson equating the event to the "Hitler" Olympics of 1936.

While people here laugh at this sort of plainly outrageous nonsense, other forms of deceit invoke feelings of anger. And one which seems to especially irk Russians is the false representation of alleged ethnic conformity within their side.

Comment: Yes, it's a no-brainer, but that's not self-evident for people with no brains.

SOTT Focus: The Possibility of a Successful Trump-Putin Summit has the Establishment in Hysterics

putin and trump handshake

There are many reasons the bipartisan US establishment hates Trump. His heresies from neoliberal orthodoxies on immigration and trade are prominent. But top among them is his oft-stated intention to improve relations with Russia.

That's fighting words for the Deep State and its mainstream media arm, for which demonizing Russia and its president Vladimir Putin is an obsession.

The fact that Donald Trump made his intention to get along with Moscow a priority during his 2016 campaign, both against his Republican primary rivals and Hillary Clinton (who has compared Putin to Hitler) was cause for alarm. This is because far more than even the frightening prospect that the 70-year state of war on the Korean Peninsula might end, US reconciliation with Russia would yank the rug out from under the phony justifications for spending hundreds of billions of dollars annually to counter a "threat" that ceased to exist over a quarter century ago. Absent hostility to Russia that money has no reason to keep sustaining the power, privilege, and prosperity of a horde of moochers and profiteers, both at home and abroad.
