British media glosses over Ukrainian soldiers' use of anti-gay slur

The Telegraph has apparently disguised homophobic language by Kiev's troops.

British newspaper The Telegraph appears to have covered up the repeated use of an anti-gay slur by Ukrainian fighters in a combat video. The clip was published by the outlet on its YouTube channel two months ago, although questions over the translation were widely picked up online only this week.

The bodycam footage appeared to show Russian-speaking Ukrainian troops repelling an attack on their positions outside the Donbass city of Artyomovsk (known in Ukraine as Bakhmut).

Comment: Hardly surprising the Western media would be white-washing the controversial language of Ukrainian soldiers. They've already been covering up their overt Nazism for years.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is suing the Biden administration over a federal accrediting process he said is "unconstitutionally" interfering in Florida's education system.

Speaking at Hillsborough Community College's Ybor City Campus in Tampa, Florida, DeSantis was joined by Attorney General Ashley Moody, Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz Jr., and State University System Chancellor Ray Rodrigues. In front of a podium labeled "Freedom For Higher Education," he touted Florida's record while denouncing "woke" ideology.

Comment: Governor DeSantis has been working hard in recent years to counteract the infestation of radical ultra-left wing ideology within the school and education system:

Former NCAA swim star Riley Gaines slammed the president of far-left Human Rights Campaign for denying the biological advantages of male athletes in a Wednesday Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

Kelley Robinson, who describes herself as the first queer, Black president of the Human Rights Campaign, claimed that tennis legend Serena Williams could beat men at the sport at the hearing on "Protecting Pride: Defending the Civil Rights of LGBTQ+ Americans."

"There's been this news article about men that think they can beat Serena Williams in tennis," Robinson said. "And it's just not the case. She is stronger than them."

The Swedish Government has ditched its targets for "100% renewable energy" supply amid a shift back to nuclear power in the latest blow for the unreliable and inefficient technology.

Announcing the new policy in the Swedish Parliament, the Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson said: "This creates the conditions for nuclear power. We need more electricity production, we need clean electricity and we need a stable energy system."

Environmental campaign group Net Zero Watch has welcomed the move, saying the Swedish decision is "an important step in the right direction, implicitly acknowledging the low quality of unstable wind and solar, and is part of a general collapse of confidence in the renewable energy agenda pioneered in the Nordic countries and in Germany".

O'Keefe Media records BlackRock recruiter: Ukraine conflict 'f***ing good for business'

An employee of the asset management giant was filmed running from Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe

BlackRock wants the conflict in Ukraine to continue as long as possible because it is "good for business," a recruiter for the asset management giant told an undercover reporter with Project Veritas successor, O'Keefe Media Group, in a video published on Monday.

"War is really f***ing good for business," Serge Varlay, whose since-deleted LinkedIn profile described him as a technology recruiter at BlackRock, told the reporter. He outlined a scenario in which an investor could profit off a surge in wheat prices triggered by the bombing of Ukrainian wheat silos, explaining "volatility creates opportunity to make profit" before editorializing, "It's exciting when s*** goes wrong, right?"

"We don't want the conflict to end, as a country," Varlay continued, noting, "the longer this goes on, the weaker Russia is."

Nation's first elected 'transgender' state rep. arrested on child porn charges

A former New Hampshire state representative and the nation's first transgender-identifying state lawmaker was arrested by police this week and charged for allegedly distributing child pornography.

Stacie Marie Laughton, a Democrat who previously resigned twice from the New Hampshire state house, is now facing four counts of distributing sexually explicit images of children. Laughton was born Barry Charles Laughton, Jr.

Nashua Police Department public information officer Sgt. John Cinelli said that police were called to respond to a juvenile incident on Tuesday and were then told that the former lawmaker had been distributing explicit images. On Thursday, police searched Laughton's house and arrested him.

"They spoke with reporting parties that indicated Laughton distributed sexually explicit images of children," Cinelli said, according to Patch. "Detectives from the special investigations division were assigned to further the investigation. They applied for and were granted a warrant for Laughton's arrest."

Laughton is slated to be arraigned on Friday at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South.

Comment: This is going to keep on happening. And the Woke-adjacent will keep on being surprised. It's not difficult. Adult males who "transition" have sexual fetishes. Pedophilia is one of them. This is a pathocracy.

Ukraine expands general mobilization

Residents of the Obolonsky district in Kiev who are eligible for mobilization must report to a military recruitment office within ten days, even if they have not received a personal draft notice, the local commissariat announced on Thursday.

A document, signed by commissar Alexey Privala, was posted on social media, as well as reprinted by the Ukrainian website Strana. Responding to the outlet's inquiry, Privala's office claimed the order was nothing new and that such notices were being posted regularly.

What has changed in the district, however, is the blanket call-up of all draftees. The western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankovsk has already enacted the same measure. Their orders, dated June 13, also refer to the mobilization of vehicles and forbid residents from moving without the explicit permission of the draft commissariat.

The Ivano-Frankovsk notice set a ten-day deadline for all men subject to the draft notice to report for service.

Florida officials have come in contact with roughly 10,000 migrants, including an MS-13 gang member on the U.S. terror watch list, as part of Operation Lone Star, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced this week.

Florida stands as one of four states that recently deployed resources to support Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's Operation Lone Star, focused on addressing the illegal immigration crisis. On Monday, DeSantis provided an update, revealing that Florida officials have come into contact with roughly 10,000 illegal migrants, including an MS-13 gang-member on the United States terror watch list.

In an update the governor's office said:
Florida teams have...assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety with over 600 arrests including felony charges for human smuggling, drug paraphernalia, unlawful carrying of weapons, a suspect with a capital murder warrant, and an MS-13 gang member currently on the U.S. Terror Watch List.
"Florida teams continue to intercede [sic] human smugglers and drug traffickers with over 230 pounds of drugs worth an estimated $184,000 seized over the weekend," the press release added.

One Palestinian is dead and dozens injured after Jewish settlers went on fiery rampages in several West Bank villages, with Israeli security forces reportedly siding with the assailants and thwarting Palestinian attempts to defend themselves and their property.

The attacks were said to be acts of vengeance for the killing of four settlers by Palestinian gunmen. However, those gunman had already been shot to death shortly after they carried out their attack at a roadside restaurant near the Eli settlement.

That incident, in turn, followed major Israeli military attacks on the Jenin refugee camp that have killed at least seven including two children. In an escalation not seen in the occupied West Bank since 2006, Israel used helicopter gunships, followed by a drone strike that killed three on Wednesday.

Best of the Web: Why Pride lost the public

pride flag

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably witnessed the backlash to Pride. There have been mass boycotts of Bud Light after the beer company partnered with trans woman and TikTok influencer, Dylan Mulvaney, sending her a custom can to celebrate her first year of "girlhood." Target was next to come under fire for its Pride display targeting children and their "tuck-friendly" bathing suits for women.

This set the stage for the most divisive Pride month in some time. First, the boycotts. Then videos of angry parents at school boards went viral. Conservative radio hosts and commentators vowed to make Pride "toxic" to brands. But it's not just conservatives who are pushing back; according to a recent Gallup poll, even Democrats have seen a drop in the acceptance of same-sex relations.

Which begs the question: what happened to Pride? After decades of progress for gay rights, growing acceptance of gay marriage and the normalization of same-sex relationships, Pride is unexpectedly political again. Why?
