Paris refuses to withdraw its troops from Niger

France has insisted on fulfilling five military cooperation agreements with Niger, because the accords were signed with the West African state's 'legitimate authorities,' despite the former colony's newly installed junta calling for the deals to be revoked.

"France recalls that the legal framework for its cooperation with Niger in the area of defense is based on agreements that have been concluded with the legitimate Niger authorities," read a Friday statement from the French foreign ministry. "These are the only ones that France, and the entire international community, recognizes."

The statement follows a Thursday declaration from Amadou Abdramane, spokesperson for the military coup leaders who ousted Niger's democratically elected president Mohammad Bazoum last week, that the junta was unilaterally severing the military agreements with its former colonial rulers.

Connecticut court upholds state ban on vaccine religious exemptions

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Connecticut state law that banned religious exemptions against immunizations in educational institutions on Friday.

Plaintiffs argued against Public Act 21-6, which ended religious exemptions in Connecticut in 2021. This made Connecticut the fifth state to end religious exemptions, following Mississippi, California, New York, and Maine. West Virginia also does not allow religious exemptions, but it never had religious exemptions in the first place, according to the decision.

"Only one court — state or federal, trial or appellate — has ever found plausible a claim of a constitutional defect in a state's school vaccination mandate on account of the absence or repeal of a religious exemption," Judge Denny Chin wrote in his majority opinion. "We decline to disturb this nearly unanimous consensus."

Poll shows majority of Americans believe US should NOT give more aid to Ukraine

Survey results show that the majority of Americans believe Congress shouldn't approve more funds to support Kiev any further.

According to a recent poll conducted by pollster Social Science-Research Solutions (SSRS) and commissioned by CNN, the majority of Americans believe the US has supported Ukraine in its continuing struggle with Russia sufficiently and would argue against allocating extra funds for the nation.

The survey was carried out in July, and it involved approximately 1,279 participants chosen at random from US households. Only 48% of respondents to the poll said they thought the US should support Kiev more, while 51% believed the nation has already done enough.

Only 45% of those polled thought the US Congress should approve more funds for Ukraine, while 55% said it had already gotten enough aid. The majority of those who thought Ukraine should still be backed preferred aid in intelligence gathering, with 63% supporting such efforts, while 53% favored the concept of offering military training.

Comment: And this is bearing in mind that the majority of Americans are seriously misinformed by their propaganda media and sold out politicians; imagine if they knew the truth about the West's proxy war in Ukraine and the harm that it's causing their economy?

Either way, they may be in luck, because there's reason to believe that at least some deep state factions in the US are also ready to ditch the failed proxy war: The Ukrainian nightmare

Library system reversed course, now will allow Saturday event — 'We must stand our ground,' said publisher.

A library in Alabama has reversed its decision from earlier this week to cancel a book reading event.

It will now indeed welcome actor Kirk Cameron and his publisher, Brave Books, on Saturday, August 5, for the nationwide "See You at the Library" event.

The Huntsville-Madison County Public Library System in Huntsville, Alabama, had said in a release on Wednesday afternoon it would no longer accommodate the book reading event due to concerns about logistics and security as popularity for the event grew this week.

57 swimmers sickened at world triathlon championship in UK due to increased dumping of raw sewage into waterways

British Triathlon
© George Wood/Getty ImagesBritish Triathlon are investigating why so many competitors fell ill after the event last weekend.
At least 57 people fell ill with sickness and diarrhoea after competing in sea swimming events at the World Triathlon Championship Series in Sunderland, health officials confirmed this weekend.

About 2,000 people participated in the events last weekend, which included a swim off Sunderland's blue flag Roker beach. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said it would be testing samples from those who were ill to establish the cause of the illness and any common pathogens.

An Environment Agency sampling at Roker beach on Wednesday 26 July, three days before the event, showed 3,900 E Coli colonies per 100ml, more than 39 times higher than typical readings the previous month. E coli is a bacterial infection which can cause stomach pain and bloody diarrhoea,

Comment: At some point incompetence and corruption take their toll, because it was only a few years ago that UK MPs voted to allow private water corporations to dump raw sewage into waterways with little to no oversight: Footage shows the dumping of raw sewage in the UK in October 2022:

Grain cars derail on Moldova train headed to Ukraine river port

Six grain wagons in a 61-car train headed for a Ukrainian river port derailed in Moldova on Saturday as extreme heat weakened the rails, the country's railway system said.

"The preliminary cause of the accident is the extremely high temperature, which caused the rails to lose their strength," the Moldovan railway said in a statement.

Comment: It's notable that they don't mention the measured temperature of this 'extreme heat'. Further, much of Europe has been experiencing lower than average temperatures and higher than average rainfall this summer

It said six wagons carrying grain derailed while the train was on a section of the Culma-Ceadir-Lunga line and headed for Reni, a Ukrainian transport hub on the Danube.

Moldovan farmers, who traditionally export grain and oilseeds to Romania and Turkey, are ready to export 800,000 tons of a strong wheat crop of 1.2 million tons this year.

Comment: It's unlikely that 'heat' led to the derailment, although it is possible. It may simply be an accident, or perhaps even due to the increased pressure to ship as much grain cargo as fast as possible, and across routes that may not normally handle such large and frequent loads, however there's also the possibility that, as is clear with some train derailments in the US, that this could also due to sabotage; more so considering the commodity itself.

Either way, with the world's grain supply is under increasing pressures, and a recent study of Ukraine revealed that food supplies and distribution is even more vulnerable due to their being choke points which, if disrupted, could lead to a significant reduction in supply, and so whilst these incidents may seem minor they're notable because of the potential impact they can have: From fields to front lines: Satellite data reveals the impact of the war in Ukraine on global food supply

The American Academy of Pediatrics wants to review youth gender treatments

This week, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) announced that it was setting out on the long road back to plausible deniability.

At a meeting this week, all 16 AAP board members voted to reaffirm the organisation's 2018 guidelines on how paediatricians should support "transgender and gender-diverse children and adolescents" — before agreeing that a systematic review of the evidence supporting youth gender transition was in order.

The academy's current guidelines claim puberty blockers are "reversible" (the UK's National Health Service now warns that "little is known about the long-term side effects of hormone or puberty blockers in children with gender dysphoria"). On the subject of "surgical affirmation" — an Orwellian term if ever there was one — the AAP advises that adolescents may undergo interventions to amputate breasts or genitalia on a case-by-case basis. The guidelines also take social transition — a psychosocial intervention in which a child's entire social circle is enlisted in a conspiracy to lie to them about their sex — without due seriousness, despite evidence suggesting that social transition makes it harder for children to change their minds and accept their bodies.

Russian fencer treated unfairly

Dear Readers:

This saga has been playing out for several days now, and I finally decided to do a story on it, based on this latest news; the reporter is Kristina Tsytsura.

For those not familiar with the backstory: There is a Russian girl named Anna Smirnova, who competes in the sport of women's fencing (saber). On 27 July Smirnova competed in a world championship and fought a duel against the reigning champion, Ukrainian citizen Olga Harlan. Olga won the match, as was expected, with a score of 15:7.

When the match was over, Smirnova put aside her saber, removed her glove, and approached Harlan, in order to shake hands. This wasn't just a question of politeness. Apparently, according to all the sports reporters who are writing about this story, it is written into the very rules of the sport. Namely, that a match is not considered over until the loser concedes defeat and shakes the hand of the winner. And it has to be bare hands, without a glove.

But the winner, Harlan, instead of taking the other girl's hand, pointed her sabre right at her, stood there in a threatening pose for a few seconds, then turned around and walked away.

Smirnova didn't know what to do, so she just stood there aimlessly for a few minutes, waiting to see if Harlan would return and complete the requirements of the match.

2020: Forensic study into Detroit, Michigan election finds up to 34,000 illegal ballots

Michigan 2020 Election with still unexplained ballot drop of 149,772 ballots for Joe Biden to take the lead from President Trump at 6:31 in the morning.
Additional warnings from Detroit Clerks that THOUSANDS of absentee paper was different than normal ballots |

A national expert in criminal forensics completed a report into the 2020 election in Michigan and has found further evidence of chronic, systemic, voter fraud especially among absentee ballots in that challenged election.

The firm is Speckin Forensics and they have wide national experience testifying in criminal trials. Through their investigation where they were allowed limited access to the 2020 ballots in Wayne County which covers Detroit, they found:
  • A significant number of absentees in different precincts illegally had no signed ballot application. Many absentee ballots had no request whatsoever, in the two primary precincts examined the rates of illegal ballots were 12% and 20%.
  • Absentee ballots often had a lighter tone and shade to the printing. The Detroit clerks even commented to the Speckin team that the type of paper felt different.

Comment: Michigan, like Pennsylvania, has long been a cesspool of election fraud, with Detroit sitting at the center of it. Detroit election observers were blocked from viewing at one absentee ballot counting center:

Notre Dame's iconic spire to rise again

Rebuilding Notre Dame Cathedral takes leap forward as the majestic spire is pieced together

Out in the French countryside of Briey, massive planks of oak wood are being fitted together for a very, very special purpose.

They are forming the new spire for the resurrection of the Notre Dame, and by using a marriage of master woodworkers and expert computing, all the pieces of the spire's central and chief component — the shaft — fit together perfectly.

The spire, which collapsed through the lead roof of the famous cathedral in the fire, was built in the 19th century by architect Eugene Viollet-le-Duc, and the drafts for its construction were kept. With them, the team has been able to remake all 60 feet of structure exactly as before.
