Woman changes mind about becoming a cop after police detective rapes her in public in search of drugs

According to a report from The Riverfront Times, a St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer performed an unauthorized vaginal cavity search of a female suspect, all while another cop was watching.

The incident allegedly occurred on the night of October 19th, 2012. Aspiring police officer, 24-year-old Kayla Robinson was a passenger in a car with a few other friends and were going home from a St. Louis Cardinals game. The friends made a U-turn on Goodfellow Blvd. at around 10:45pm. Supposedly suspecting the car was attempting to avoid a police checkpoint just ahead, Detective Angela Hawkins and her partner pulled the car over and began to question the individuals inside.

The police officers took Robinson out of the car, and according to RT, "Hawkins allegedly pushed the young woman up against a tractor-trailer and demanded to know where 'the dope and the guns' were." That's when Robinson says her nightmare began. Detective Hawkins then allegedly unbuttoned her pants, forced her to bend over while facing Hawkins' male partner, and she then placed her fingers inside Robinson's vagina, attempting to find drugs the detective believed were shoved inside. All the while Robinson was pleading for the cavity search to take place at the police station and not outside, in the open, in between several tractor trailers.

Robinson says her requests for a more private search were denied and she was forcibly penetrated by Hawkins. Now Robinson is demanding that Detective Hawkins answer for her actions in a civil suit filed against the officer as well as the city of St. Louis. According to the lawsuit:
Defendant Hawkins put the gloves on, turned Plaintiff around so as to face the male officer, and began unbuttoning Plaintiff's pants. At this time, Plaintiff was crying hysterically and begging Defendant Hawkins to take her to jail and search her there. ... Defendant Hawkins instead forced Plaintiff to bend over and placed her fingers inside Plaintiff's vagina. ... After finding no drugs on Plaintiff during the course of this unreasonable and unlawful search, Defendant Hawkins fastened Plaintiff's pants and slammed her with excessive force into the parked trailer.

Vancouver, BC: Where precious snowflakes need a safe space from signs referring to literature classics like 'Moby Dick'

Moby Dick fish and chips restaurant
© Google MapsMoby Dick, a fish and chips restaurant in White Rock, B.C., was barred from opening a new location in Vancouver, in part because the building's strata council deemed the name offensive, according to allegations contained in a lawsuit filed in B.C. Supreme Court.
A Vancouver business is suing its strata corporation for refusing to allow the opening of a Moby Dick fish and chips franchise location, due in part to an "offensive" word in the restaurant's name.

According to a lawsuit filed in B.C. Supreme Court, L&H Trading Corp. leased a commercial property on Denman Street in Vancouver's Coal Harbour, where it previously operated The Change, an Asian fusion restaurant.

L&H hit hard financial times in early 2016, so, in May, it sold its restaurant business to Moby Dick, a fish and chips restaurant in White Rock named for the famous novel by Herman Melville about a giant white whale.

But just before Moby Dick was to take over the property, court documents allege the building's strata council refused to allow the restaurant to open for a number of reasons — one of which was the restaurant name contained the word "dick," an "offensive term."

According to the lawsuit, the strata felt the restaurant would "harm the image" of the building and would decrease property values.

Russian elections chief Pamfilova proposes unified standards for poll monitoring in Europe

Central Elections Commission
© Vitaliy Ankov / Sputnik
The head of Russia's Central Elections Commission has said all OSCE nations should adopt single standards that would allow them to compare the performance of various nations and register progress or regression in democracy.

"I consider it very important that the standards of elections monitoring in all OSCE [Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe] member countries be unified," Ella Pamfilova told reporters after meeting with the head of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Michael Link.

"If this is so, we will be able to judge if we are moving in the right direction or not, and whether our situation has improved in comparison with some high standards," Pamfilova said.

The official also said that Russia would set up a working group that would examine possible changes in Russian election law in line with recommendations issued by the ODIHR following the 2016 parliamentary polls.

'Pharma Bro' Martin Shkreli complaint leads to $100mn FTC drug price settlement

Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical has agreed to pay $100 million to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for charges that were, in part, brought on by Martin Shkreli, the "pharma bro" notorious for significantly raising the price of a life-saving drug.

According to the FTC, Mallinckrodt violated antitrust laws when their Questcor division acquired the rights to Acthar, a specialty drug used to treat infantile spasms.

Once they had the monopoly, the FTC says Mallinckrodt increased the price of the drug and engaged in anti-competitive behavior to keep their prices high.

"Questcor took advantage of its monopoly to repeatedly raise the price of Acthar, from $40 per vial in 2001 to more than $34,000 per vial today - an 85,000 percent increase," FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez explained on their website.

The Girl Scouts of America faced an avalanche of criticism on social media for its decision to march at Donald Trump's Inauguration. The organization usually takes part in the parade, but Trump's stunning election win prompted calls for a boycott.

The Girl Scouts were listed along the Boy Scouts of America when the Presidential Inaugural Committee earlier this week, announced the participants and their order of appearance for the parade.

The announcement unleashed the Twitter storm.

"@girlscouts I'm the mother of a Girl Scout and I hope you reconsider you participation," tweeted Sarah Kendzior. "Trump does not honor your values..."

Istanbul shooter caught alive by Turkish police - admits to planning the attack in interrogation (UPDATE)

Turkish police have arrested the gunman who killed 39 people in a mass shooting at Istanbul nightclub 'Reina' on New Year's Day after a two-week nationwide manhunt, according to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.

"The attacker behind New Year's night assault on the club is captured. He is currently in the hands of police, where his interrogation is still taking place. It is still too early to talk about any results, but the investigation will identify all those who stand behind this attack," Yildirim said on Tuesday.

State-run Anadolu news agency earlier reported that the assailant was caught with his four-year-old son in Istanbul's outlying Esenyurt district. Istanbul governor Vasip Sahin stated on Tuesday that the attacker, who was identified as Uzbekistan-born Abdulgadir Masharipov, had admitted his guilt. Authorities state that he is responsible for slaughtering 39 people and wounding 65 others in Istanbul during New Year's eve celebrations.

Comment: Authorities added that Masharipov's fingerprints were found at the Reina club. Police also sezied two firearms, ammo, and $197,000 in cash during the raid. Istanbul's governor contradicted other reports above, however, stating that Masharipov's son was not with him when he was arrested.

See also: IRIS has compiled some interesting updates in the past weeks. For example:
JANUARY 6, 2017

Update 20: Remember what was printed by the press on the very night of the shooting:

"A perpetrator of the attack on Istanbul's Reina nightclub was killed, The Guardian reported on Sunday citing Turkish officials. Police started to leave the site of the attack, according to The Guardian's correspondent."

JANUARY 5, 2017

Update 19: Hassan Khashoggi, alleged witness: In his interview with Al Arabiya, Khashoggi disclosed that there were three attackers, including a woman. He said he heard a person screaming: "Why does she want to kill us?" He stated that their shooting methods affirmed that they were well-trained. "They did not shoot randomly, but rather walked between tables and pointed at the clients. "Hassan Khashoggi said that he knew from their accent that they were not Arabs, but foreigners. ... "The police made us sit with other survivors in the station near the restaurant, and then transferred us in two cafes close to the station, and brought water for us. An officer then came and told us that one of the suspects is sitting amongst us, and asked each one to sit next to his companion, for identification and processing."

JANUARY 4, 2017

Update 18: Remember Reuters and CNN their first report: "One attacker was still inside an Istanbul nightclub after an armed attack early on Sunday and police special forces were preparing an operation to enter the building, broadcaster CNN Turk said."
...
Update 15: FALSE FLAG AND INSIDE JOB: "It was determined that 3 policemen who worked at the door that night were not there by chance during the attack."

Not by chance, though. The security firm that was hired 10 days before the attack knows exactly why those police officers were not there that night. The possibility that it indeed was an Israeli firm gets bigger and bigger by the day as clues and evidence keep piling up.

Additionally, "The terrorist, a citizen of one of the Central Asian countries, left one of the outfits he was wearing after the attack. The attacker did not take the bag he had put in the trunk of the taxi when he was coming to Ortaköy. It was claimed that a cell phone from the terrorist appeared inside the bag."

And that means 100% false flag, guaranteed. This time it was not a passport or immigration papers that were magically found at the scene, this time it was the mobile phone which also mysteriously had a "selfie" video saved for easy identification by the Turkish police. After that the "Iakhe Mashrapov lead" was falsely planted to make the Turkish government look incompetent. It - the attack - has pretty much ISRAELI GOVERNMENT written all over it, from beginning till end.
...
Update 13: Iakhe Mashrapov from the Kyrgyz Republic has reportedly been cleared from charges or any involvement in the Reina shootings. It appears that that (dis)information has been deliberately planted in the newswires by those who have a lot to gain from Turkey's collapse. Who has the influence to plant false news in the international news wires? For sure it is not ISIS!

Update 12: We've informed our members and readers on December 31 - January 1 that the attack was a false flag attack and that it was an inside job.

Hurriyet: "The authorities are evaluating how the attacker knew all of Reina's exits, including the three secret doors known only by the personnel working there. He also knew that the guards of the nightclub were not carrying guns and that weapons were not allowed inside the club. ... The attacker reportedly had no trouble escaping from the scene and the authorities are evaluating whether he received any help from the inside."

JANUARY 3, 2017

Update 11: UNCONFIRMED - SUSPECT(S) USED FLASH BANGS

Local reports claim that three casings have been recovered from US-made stun grenades, suspect(s) used them while reloading AK47. The suspect in the videos is said to have entered Turkey 15 days before the shooting at the Reina.
...
JANUARY 2, 2017
...
Update 2: The Guardian: "The survivors they spoke to all said there were multiple assailants, although Turkish authorities have said there was a lone attacker, and some said they were in contact with each other on walkie talkies."

Update 1:

From Yunis Turk an alleged witness allegedly interviewed by CNN: "For 10 minutes there was gunfire and then for another five minutes they were throwing bombs, fired a bit more, then left".

From Batuhan Aytemur on Facebook: "Yes 2 terrorist weared noel father costumes and terrorist used kalashnikov and hand grenade finally 40 people kill"
...

Inside Job

Early on it was reported by Hurriyet and the Jerusalem Post that the owner of the club, Mehmet Kocarslan, had told journalists that the security of the club had been transferred to a further unnamed entity, days before the shooting at his club in Istanbul.

"Hurriyet quoted Reina's owner, Mehmet Kocarslan, as saying security measures had been taken over the past 10 days after U.S. intelligence reports suggested a possible attack."
reina
The above was initially also reported by the Jerusalem Post but has since today been removed from their article where it appeared.

What that indicates, more and more likely, is that the security of the Reina club was recently outsourced to an Israeli security company. That would explain why the Jerusalem Post, of all places, would delete that part of their article after difficult questions were being received by them.
Update (Jan. 19): More arrests after the successful capture of Masharipov:
istanbul arrest
© AFPTurkish police arrested an unidentified man linked to the Istanbul nightclub attack on New Year's Day.
Turkish police on January 18 rounded up 27 people mostly from Central Asia, who they said were linked to an Uzbek man suspected of killing 39 people at a New Year's party in an Istanbul nightclub.

The state news agency Anadolu said Turkish antiterrorism squads raided seven addresses in the northwestern city of Bursa, arresting 27 people mostly from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Some detainees were from China's minority Muslim Uyghur community and 15 were women, it said.

Anadolu said police took 29 children into protective custody and seized 15 mobile phones set up with fake identity cards at one house that was connected to a Tajik citizen who police said acted as a liason between the extremist group Islamic State (IS) and foreign nationals.

The Hurriyet newspaper reported that the suspected gunman, Abdulkadir Masharipov, confessed to police and told them he had initially been instructed by IS leaders in Raqqa, Syria, to target Istanbul's famed Taksim Square, but changed his target at the last minute to avoid heavy security around the square.
