The shooting was a robbery which has gone "really really bad," San Antonio police chief William McManus told reporters. Two suspects robbed a jewelry store at the Rolling Oaks Mall, and while escaping encountered "two citizens who tried to intervene."

A married Muslim couple was forced to seek refuge inside their car when they were apparently attacked outside Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia because of a full-face veil worn by the wife.

Ramzy Alamudi, who filmed the incident on his phone on Friday afternoon, said on Facebook that he was enjoying a "special occasion" with his wife, who had "aced" the "final exam in her medical degree," when the encounter took place.

The couple was about to get into their car to drive to a celebration when then spotted a woman "staring viciously from a distance." In an attempt to defuse the tension, Alamudi's wife waved to the woman, who her husband said was another student at the same university.

Best of the Web: Trump inauguration TV ratings second biggest in 36 years - With online viewings included, biggest ever?

trump inauguration
© Andrew Harnik/Associated Press
Donald Trump's inauguration ratings were the second-highest in 36 years, according to Nielsen.

The swearing-in of the 45th president was seen by 30.6 million viewers across 12 networks.

The only inauguration over the last three decades that tops Trump's number in the linear ratings? Barack Obama's first inauguration back in 2009, which had a record-setting 37.8 million viewers. So Trump was down from the last new president to take office.

But before that, to get an Inauguration Day number this high, you'd have to go all the way back to Ronald Reagan in 1981, who was seen by 41.8 million viewers (Nielsen released tracking for inauguration ratings back to 1969).

Meet Dr. Death: How Rodchenkov went from criminal to glorified whistleblower

Global Whipping Boy Russia is good for the movie business. The latest is a documentary glorifying a fugitive with blood on his hands. Portrayed as heroic whistleblower, Doctor Death, Grigory Rodchenkov, gets a Pablo Escobar/Hollywood makeover.

Maria, not her real name, caught a cold. Fifteen months of travel, tennis training, and tournaments took their toll on my 19 year old tennis player-client. Dropping off a box of Theraflu, I told her to rest. Two days later, Friday, dope testers arrived at her apartment in northern Moscow and took a urine sample. Theraflu, it's okay? she asked. Call the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) office or laboratory, they answered.

Panicked, she phoned me. Sit tight, I said, I'll sort it out Monday. Eight tearful calls later and I was on a train back to Moscow. Not the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF), RUSADA nor the lab could answer our questions. Eventually I got the number of a woman, Marina, associated with the lab who would assist us. I met her in the center of Moscow. She said her 'company' helped athletes (including one I knew) through the doping minefield.

Pirro: President Trump to be the 'biggest change agent' in US history

Judge Jeanine Pirro
© Discovery Press WebJudge Jeanine Pirro
In her Opening Statement on Saturday, Judge Jeanine Pirro said President Trump has been "fearless" in his campaign and predicted he will be considered the "biggest change agent in the history of the United States."

Pirro praised Trump's inaugural address as "straightforward" and "direct", and criticized MSNBC's Rachel Maddow for calling it a dark speech that "you can't imagine an outgoing president giving".

Recounting the perceptibly "dark" portions of the speech, Pirro said Trump was simply speaking of daily life for people who did not asked to be born into underprivileged circumstances, such as living in inner cities and being victimized by gang crime.

Trump will be a leader who does not "put fingers to the wind" to decide what to do at crunch time or "give[s] a damn what nay-sayers... say", Pirro said.

"He's been up and down and back up again. He understands that... changing the Washington machine is not for the faint of heart," she said.

She thanked Trump for being unafraid to admit America's faults and weaknesses and for his stated willingness to face those challenges head-on.

Comment: Trump has a lot to live up to and a lot to 'course correct.' He deserves a chance to do so.

Best of the Web: Fake News alert: Liberal media caught understating crowd size at Trump inauguration

trump inauguration attendance
Apart from the overhyped "women's" marches, yesterday's biggest news story seemed to be the conflict between the news media and the Trump administration over the size of the inauguration crowd. The liberal media said it was small, relying largely on this photo comparison by the New York Times of Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration and Trump's.

Other media happily followed suit with lowball estimates of Friday's crowd. Two points: one, there is not, and never will be, an official estimate of crowd size for either the 2009 inauguration or last Friday's. The National Park Service stopped doing such estimates in the 1990s. Two, the issue normally would be analyzed by looking at satellite photos, but Friday was too cloudy for such pictures. Hence the uncertainty.

The obvious question, of course, is when the Times's photo of Trump's inauguration was taken. Brit Hume - a far more reliable source than the New York Times - weighed in on Twitter:

What else can 'they' use it for? - The art of hypnotizing employees to coach them

Hypnosis Lab

A new method called 'hypnovation' (hipnovación) - the word itself is an amalgam of 'hypnosis' and 'innovation' - is a new and interesting technique that may well revolutionize coaching around the world.

About ten years ago, attorney Gonzalo Le Blanc together with a medical specialist named Daniel West started studying the workings of the human brain to find a practical application for neurobiology in business, eventually turning their attention to hypnosis.

"Our primary goal was to find out what exactly hypnosis is and what kind of potential it has. By replicating certain experiments conducted in US and European universities, we've learned that this method offers many opportunities: hypnosis can be successfully used to relieve pain, deal with phobias, and control stress and anxiety," Le Blanc told Sputnik Mundo.

The two entrepreneurs firmly believe that as companies are comprised of people, then 'adjusting' these people would allow the companies to remain successful during these times of change.

"People believe that entering a state of hypnosis would allow them to see a new wonderful world. The truth however is a bit different. Some people experience sporadic memory lapses while others clearly remember everything and can do anything without violating their moral principles," he explained.

He pointed out that basically all people are in some way susceptible to hypnosis as there is a great variety of special techniques which can be tailored to accommodate any person. Their project eventually bore fruit, and now their company, Le Blanc & West, holds conferences all over South America, in Spain and in the US, spreading the word about hypnovation.

"It's difficult to change the behavior of people working in successful companies. Our brain tells us that we should not change a formula that got it here. But the companies that don't change and evolve end up dead. Our interventions are aimed at generating a culture of change in companies," Le Blanc concluded.

Breath of fresh air: Trump's inaugural address focuses on "We, the American people"; leaves himself out of speech almost entirely

President Donald Trump focused his inaugural address on 'we' the American people, leaving himself out of the speech almost entirely.

In contrast to his predecessor Barack Obama, who had a habit of mentioning himself often throughout his speeches, Trump mentioned himself just three times in two sentences, while referring to "we" the American people 45 times.
