BDS win: South Africa's Tshwane University officially cuts ties with Israel

South Africa's Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) has officially endorsed the Palestinian call for an academic boycott of Israel, and imposed a ban on ties with Israel and Israeli institutions. With a 60,000-strong student body, Tshwane is the largest residential higher education institution in South Africa.

In a statement released last week, officials revealed that a 24 November meeting of the university council had formally approved a recommendation to cut ties.
"As a progressive University in a democratic South Africa, we want to affirm that TUT will not sign any agreements or enter into scientific partnerships with any Israeli organisation or institution until such time that Israel ends its illegal occupation of Palestinian territory." the statement said.
The University will not stand back and accept the violations of the Israeli government when it confines the movement of Palestinian children and youth on their own land and restricts their ability to access education through destroying the schools.

The statement added: "TUT furthermore supports the call by various bodies, including student bodies and other progressive organisations to boycott Israel and Israeli institutions for as long as Israel continues to violate the basic human rights of the Palestinian people, as well as international laws."

Comment: For Israel, the world is rapidly becoming a much smaller and exceedingly less friendly place.

California Democratic Party director resigns amid multiple rape and sexual harassment allegations

Chris Cheslog
Chris Cheslog
A regional director of the California Democratic Party has resigned amid allegations that he raped a woman at an Executive Board meeting in November, 2016.

Craig Cheslog was recently accused by multiple witnesses of acting "in an inappropriate and sexually aggressive manner" towards a colleague at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel in November. Seeing his behavior prompted a 23-year-old woman to come forward with allegations that he raped her after the meeting last year.

A Statement of Charges letter seeking his ouster from his position as the Region 2 Director, signed by four officials, was provided to the Gateway Pundit by American Children First.

SOTT Focus: The 97 Russian Cents That Changed History - Stop Putin, Before He Strikes Again!

It's finally here! The irrefutable evidence of malevolent Russian meddling in the elections of our democratic nations has finally been revealed, and it's absolutely stunning. "Incontrovertible!" "Mounting evidence!" That's how the British press described the evidence in November for Russian meddling in the Brexit vote.

Even though the Kremlin has cynically denied it on countless occasions, this week we got absolute proof that Vladimir Putin and his wretched rubles were directly responsible for manipulating millions of Britons to vote to leave the EU, potentially bankrupting the city of London and bringing down the civilized world as we know it. Bombarded by Kremlin-bot-backed social media propaganda, naive Brits were maliciously manipulated into voting the way Vladimir Putin wanted them to, and against their better judgment. The British elite were powerless against this Russian information war onslaught. The memes were just too good, using cutting-edge Russian persuasion technology.

Quoting a letter provided by Facebook's HQ, The Telegraph reported that the total investment by all the social network accounts of the Saint Petersburg based IRA (Internet Research Agency) was... are you ready?... under a dollar. That's right, Putin's measly pennies (or were they 'Putin Coins'?) are so powerful that he doesn't need to spend much to change the course of history. The price of Western democracy, it seems, is less than a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Six carol singers have been arrested in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh after a man accused them of trying to convert him to Christianity.

The state has some of the strictest anti-conversion laws in India.

One of those arrested was a professor at a Catholic theological college. The group said it was only visiting villages to sing songs.

A car used by the carol singers was also set on fire, allegedly by right-wing activists.

Police have also filed a case against those accused of torching the car.

Marauding elephants leave newborn baby unscathed in Odisha, India

Shanti with her newborn, in their damaged house in Biramitrapur on Monday.
As tales of ruthless elephants destroying crops and habitats trickle in from different parts of the state, reports of an incident on Monday night speak of the deeper kindness of nature itself.

A 32-member herd that went on a rampage in Sundargarh's Biramitrapur town, while destroying the furniture and kitchen of a house, spared a seven-day-old baby sleeping alone inside.

As elephants attacked a house, its members ran out of it in panic. In their fear, the family forgot the newborn.

Eyewitnesses standing outside in horror saw an elephant approach the child, sleeping on the floor, quietly touch her with its trunk, and turn away.

Comment: Interestingly, there was even more amazing story involving the actual rescue of an infant 3 years ago: Rampaging Indian elephant smashes up house but then 'saves crying baby trapped under debris'

Liberal callousness: Shrewish CNN hosts gloat after black woman loses job in Trump administration

CNN staff mock black woman job loss
“Brooke, I'm going to do what you can't do, and what April and Symone are too good of people to do and that's just be petty for a minute.”
An all-female CNN segment on Wednesday laughed, gloated, and even screamed in mockery at the news that a female African-American member of the Trump administration lost her job.

CNN political commentator Angela Rye gloated and screamed at the news that Omarosa Manigault-Newman, director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison, was let go from her position.

CNN host Brooke Baldwin, CNN political analyst April Ryan, and regular CNN guest Symone Sanders all joined in what was a public display of complete classlessness as the group all laughed.

SOTT Focus: Charlie Sheen Suing for Defamation Over Haim Rape Allegations, But Pedophilia Still Rife in Hollywood

Charlie Sheen is suing the National Enquirer for defamation after they released an article claiming he sodomized a 13-year-old Corey Haim in the 1980s when they were on set filming 'Lucas'. Sheen has vehemently denied the allegations, stating they are malicious stories published by Dylan Howard (American Media, Inc. chief content officer) who has a personal vendetta against him.

American Media, Inc. the parent company of the National Enquirer, issued a public statement on the matter:
"We look forward to litigating against Charlie Sheen, and can't wait to expose his depravities in a court of law," an AMI spokesperson told THR.
The original story, described here, claims Sheen sexually abused Haim and "pushed him down a drug fueled-path to an early grave." The allegations came from Dominick Brascia, who in the past was also accused of assaulting Haim, which he too denied.

LGBTQ center behind complaint filed against Laurier University TA Lindsay Shepherd

'We're not there to do any deep-dive critical thinking'

There have been a few outstanding questions since graduate student Lindsay Shepherd was investigated and threatened with discipline for exposing her undergraduate communications students to a televised debate on gender-neutral pronouns.

Chief among them: Who filed the complaint against her? The answer could determine whether Canada's Wilfrid Laurier University broke its own rules to investigate her.

Thanks to a lengthy and eye-opening Maclean's feature, we now know: It wasn't technically a student.

Specifically, it was campus LGBTQ office acting on a tip from a student:
Toby Finlay, an administrator at the Rainbow Centre, wouldn't share the specifics of the conversation due to confidentiality reasons, but adds: "It was through us that they made the complaint that led to the situation that blew up in the media."

Trump's increased deportation of illegals will worsen Canada's migrant crisis

canada immigration
On last night's show, Immigration lawyer Guidy Mamann joined me to discuss how Trump's decision to ramp up the deportation of criminals will worsen Canada's migrant crisis.

Canada recently saw a wave of Haitian migrants crossing into the country illegally from the United States when Trump decided not to renew the temporary protected status Obama granted them after the 2010 earthquake.

Border Officers and the Ministry of Immigration were caught unprepared; now the migrants wander freely in Canada, waiting months for meetings with ministry representatives thanks to massive backlogs.

With Trump taking an even tougher stance on illegal immigrants, Canada's situation is likely to get worse.

Watch my interview with Guidy to see why he thinks, "2018 will make 2017 look like the good old days."
