Nearly 40 people were shot during the first three days of this week in gun-controlled Chicago.

The wounded included a 15-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, while the deceased included a 21-year-old mother.

The Chicago Tribune reports that twelve people, including the 4-year-old girl, were shot during one 12-hour period stretching from "Tuesday through early Wednesday."

The 15-year-old boy was shot while riding a CTA bus home from school on Wednesday. Police said the boy was hit by a "stray bullet" that grazed his head.

The 21-year-old mother, Nakia Bailey, was shot and killed Wednesday night while "standing with a group of people on the West Side's Homan Square neighborhood." The gunman in a silver car opened fire on her as he rode past.

Comment: Things have gotten so out of control in Chicago that recently the county commissioner asked the UN to step in and help.

At least 17 people have been killed and 34 others injured in an explosion at a mosque in eastern Afghanistan, according to officials. Just days ago, twin explosions claimed by Islamic State left dozens dead.

The Sunday blast occurred in the eastern province of Khost while people were gathered after afternoon prayers, police spokesperson Basir Bina told Reuters, adding that the number of casualties could rise.

The mosque is also being used as a voter registration center ahead of parliamentary elections which are due to take place in October.

Judge administers smackdown on Mueller team for 'attempt to tighten the screws' on Manafort

mueller Judge Ellis Manafort
John Mueller (L) Judge T.S. Ellis (C) Paul Manafort (R)
Yesterday we told you about an intense courtroom battle that played out on Friday between the judge in Paul Manafort's case and an attorney for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, in which the judge said that Mueller shouldn't have "unfettered power" to prosecute Manafort for charges that have nothing to do with collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

Manafort's lawyers had asked the judge in the Virginia case to dismiss an indictment filed against him in what was their third effort to beat back criminal charges by attacking Mueller's authority. In addition to pushing back against the Special Counsel's argument for why Manafort's bank fraud charges are related to the Russia investigation, the judge also questioned why Manafort's case could not be handled by the U.S. attorney's office in Virginia, rather than the Special Counsel's office, as it is not Russia-related.

Today, a transcript of that hearing was leaked to Twitter user @Techno_Fog, a New York attorney who eloquently dissected the intense back-and-forth between Eastern District of Virginia Judge T.S. Ellis, a Reagan appointee, and Mueller attorney Michael Dreeben.

No confidence: Florida police union aims to oust Broward County sheriff Scott Israel

Billboard Florida Governor Scott

A police union in Florida is upping the ante in its campaign to oust the sheriff who has been widely blamed for a series of missteps surrounding the Parkland high school shooting.

A billboard that has just gone up in a heavily-trafficked section of I-95 South in Fort Lauderdale, reads: "Governor Scott there is no confidence in Sheriff Israel."

The blistering message was paid for by the International Union of Police Associations 620 Deputy Union, which represents the majority of cops who work under Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel.

"Jokingly it faces the north, towards the governor," Union President Jeff Bell told Fox News on Friday.

Comment: It's curious that the Sheriff has managed to retain his position despite the numerous controversies surrounding him as well as the investigations of his department; makes one wonder just what kind of leverage he holds.

Stormy Daniels' attorney sez 'Trump will be forced to resign'

Michael Avenatti
Michael Avenatti, the lawyer representing adult film actress Stormy Daniels, said Wednesday night he thinks President Donald Trump will not serve out his term as president and will be forced to resign.

CNN anchor Don Lemon asked Avenatti about the recent comments from Trump's new attorney Rudy Giuliani revealing the president reimbursed his personal attorney for the $130,000 payment to Daniels, which is contrary to the president's earlier statements about the matter.

"What do you think this means legally, if anything, for the president?" Lemon asked.

"Well, I think this shows that the president has significant potential criminal liability for felonies associated with campaign finance violations as well as potential money laundering violations as well as potential fraud violations relating to these law firm invoices that we've now heard about," Avenattis said. "I mean, this opens the pandoras box if you will into serious, serious issues for Donald Trump."

Avenatti added that he thinks Trump will not serve out his term as president and that he will be forced to resign.

Depending on how you help your kids financially, you may ruin their career options

Mom and dad's financial support can spark a successful career for their children - depending on how they provide support, that is.

When parents give their children money, especially college graduates, those kids go on to have greater professional success, according to a report by Anna Manzoni, associate professor of sociology at North Carolina State University. But when parents provide their children with financial assistance in other ways - letting them live at home for free, for instance - the opposite is true. Manzoni looked at data of more than 7,500 adults between 18 and 28 years old from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, which tracks job status.

College graduates who received money from their parents did especially well professionally, while college graduates who lived at home did especially poorly. Young adults who received more than $15,000 a year from their parents ranked 5 points higher on the researchers' scale of occupational status - measured by income - than those receiving no or little monetary support. However, adult children living at home ranked 10 points lower than those who lived independently.

"This highlights one way that social inequality is carried forward across generations," Manzoni said in a statement. "Children whose families can afford to provide direct support do very well. Other families offer the only support they can afford, by offering their kids a place to live. But this appears to adversely affect career outcomes."

South Carolina teacher 'forced' to resign after nudging & slapping student to 'wake him up'

Teacher standing on desk

A South Carolina teacher was "forced" to retire after a video of her trying to wake up a student by pulling his hair while standing on his desk emerged online. Some students and parents, however, have rallied behind the teacher.

Footage shows the veteran Palmetto High School math teacher Lisa Houston standing on the desk of a sleeping student. The teacher is pulling the students' hair, nudging him with her foot and slightly slapping him on the cheeks. The student tries to cover up with his jacket to continue sleeping, while the others in the classroom are laughing.

Shortly after the video emerged, the local school district launched an inquiry into the incident. The administration "took seriously what occurred" and Houston resigned, Jane Harrison, assistant superintendent for Anderson District 1, told media in a written statement, while adding that the teacher "has had an exemplary record of teaching performance."

Houston admitted that the "video looks bad" but insisted that it "was not a malicious act." "It was all in fun. I want the public to know that I love the student, and that our rapport with each other was great. I would have never done anything to hurt him," she told local WYFF News 4 in a statement.

Does the US consider the White Helmets damaged goods?

White Helmets Netflix still

Al-Qaeda-linked White Helmets are Western financed. They have nothing to do with "civil defense," everything to do with supporting regime change in sovereign independent Syria and wherever else they're deployed.

They were involved in staging the April 7 Douma, Syria CW false flag. Eyewitnesses, area medical personnel and Russian forensic experts exposed the ruse.

No CW attack occurred, no one hospitalized or otherwise ill from chemical toxins, no one dead, no toxic residues found in soil samples. The fake incident was staged to falsely blame Syria for what didn't happen.

White Helmets were up to their ears in faking the whole thing, discussed in earlier articles.

Based on nothing but unproved allegations, exposed as Big Lies after the fact, Washington, Britain and France terror-bombed Syrian sites - planned in advance, targets selected before the false flag occurred.
