"And the best way to prevent me from getting an infectious disease and having to have you as my doctor is what? Wearing a mask — " he began, triggering a quick dismissal from Fauci. This is hardly the first time Fauci has dismissed the need for masks. During a 60 Minutes interview in March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, he suggested masks provided more psychological relief than anything else.
"No, no, no," Fauci said, letting out a laugh.
"I don't need to do that," Rubenstein said following Fauci's reaction. "If somebody's- I can see they're getting ready to sneeze or cough, walk away?"
"You avoid all the paranoid aspects and do something positive," Fauci responded, seemingly categorizing mask-wearing as a tool of the "paranoid."
"A. Good diet. B. You don't smoke, I know. I know you don't drink. At least not very much, so that's pretty good. Get some exercise. I know that you don't get as much exercise as you should," Fauci continued.
"Get good sleep. I think the normal, low tech healthy things are the best things you can do, David, to stay healthy," Fauci added. The original video of that conversation may be watched at Bloomberg.com.
Nicki Minaj's tweets expressing her reservations about taking the COVID-19 vaccine prompted a group of her fans to launch a protest outside the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Atlanta on Wednesday, with one outspoken supporter insisting, "We should all question this vaccine."Tucker Carlson added his support for Minaj:
The demonstrators - who all wore masks and medical gloves - chanted, "Nicki Minaj told me the truth! Fauci lied to me!" according to footage taken by WGCL-TV.
Minaj said earlier this week via Twitter that she had not yet taken the jab, and was still researching whether to get vaccinated. She also made waves by telling fans that her cousin's friend in Trinidad experienced impotence and swollen testicles after receiving a coronavirus vaccine, a claim that numerous politicos and health officials dismissed.
Critics accused the rapper of spreading misinformation about COVID-19 with the claim regarding her cousin's friend's purported reaction to the vaccine, but Twitter said it saw no violation of its rules in her posts.
[Norm] hated comedy that pandered to a like-minded crowd, once saying in an interview that stand-ups should hunt for laughter, not applause. "There's a difference between a clap and a laugh. A laugh is involuntary, but the crowd is in complete control when they're clapping. They're saying, 'We agree with what you're saying; proceed!'" he said. "But when they're laughing, they're genuinely surprised. And when they're not laughing, they're really surprised. And sometimes I think, in my little head, that that's the best comedy of all."Norm MacDonald was, in other words, the absolute opposite of what passes for a comedian today. And since today's comedians are some of the least funny to ever bear that name, that means Norm MacDonald is firmly entrenched as quite possibly the funniest comic of all time.
