The death toll from a massive riot that turned into a massacre at a large prison in Ecuador has risen to 68, according to the authorities. The deadly violence was reportedly sparked by a gang rivalry.

The riot broke out on Friday night at the Litoral Penitentiary - a large prison near the town of Guayaquil. The prison is known to house inmates from the infamous Los Choneros gang that allegedly has links to Mexico's powerful Sinaloa cartel.

The violent clashes were sparked by a conflict between members of different gangs incarcerated in the facility. The prison's Second Ward, housing around 700 inmates, has become the epicenter of the bloody chaos.

The first "climate change" diagnosis is here. It will not be the last.

climate change health crisis
Doctor Kyle Merritt, an attending physician at an emergency department in Nelson BC, added "climate change" as a contributing factor to the medical issues of one of his patients. And, in so doing, has achieved a remarkable and troubling world first.

The first-ever medical diagnosis of "climate change".

Dr Merritt said in an interview with Glacier Media:
If we're not looking at the underlying cause, and we're just treating the symptoms, we're just gonna keep falling further and further behind," the emergency room doctor told Glacier Media. [...] It's me trying to just... process what I'm seeing."
The entire situation raises some interesting questions.

Does it make medical sense?

Of course it doesn't.

Leftists are okay with government-sponsored religion so long as it pushes COVID vaccines

Gov. Kathy Hochul
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul
Across the United States, government officials are using God to sell the public on more COVID vaccinations. Nobody seems to mind, least of all the American Civil Liberties Union.

The Washington state Department of Health produced an ad featuring Presbyterian minister Liz Kearney. Dressed in her clerical collar, Kearney offers a mini-sermon: "There's actually very little in the Bible about protecting our personal rights, but there is a lot about responsibility to one's neighbor." Lest viewers miss the religious nature of Kearney's message, they are shown a stained glass window and an oversized Bible.

Maybe Kearney's interpretation of the Bible is correct. Maybe it's not. But since when are leftists fine with having the government use tax dollars to promote a state-sponsored Bible lesson? They've cried "separation of church and state!" at far less overt connections to religion.

Yet Washington isn't the only state to use government-endorsed religion to advance vaccinations. In Nevada, a nonprofit funded by a state agency produced an ad declaring that "For some, getting the COVID-19 vaccine is an act of faith." This message is followed by the pro-vaccine testimony of a Baptist pastor in a church sanctuary.

"Good number" of staff could be let go as major shakeup comes to CNN

CNN is in trouble. In the month of October, almost every program failed to average 1 million viewers. They lost to both Fox News and MSNBC.

From Fox News:
The only thing spookier than Halloween for CNN is the network's freefalling viewership.

During the month of October, nearly every single program failed to average 1 million viewers, according to Nielsen data. This marks historic lows for the so-called "most trusted name in news."

The only two exceptions during the 31 days were the 90-minute Biden town hall, which still came in third place behind Fox News and MSNBC averaging only 1.2 million viewers, and the 30-minute "Cuomo Prime Time" that aired immediately after with 1.1 million.

CNN averaged a devastating 480,000 in total day viewership in October, a whopping 76% drop from January amid the chaotic transition from President Trump to President Biden. Fox News averaged 1.4 million and maintained its total day viewership from earlier this year while MSNBC averaged 657,000 viewers in October, resulting in a 61% drop from January. The network lost 14% of its viewers from September.

CNN's weeknight primetime lineup didn't fare much better, averaging just 733,000, an astonishing 78% drop from January. MSNBC averaged 1.5 million viewers in primetime, losing over half of its audience since January. Meanwhile, Fox News dominated with 2.6 million viewers, marking only a 14% decrease from the turbulent weeks leading up to Biden's inauguration.

Comment: Surely there's room in the tumbrels for Jim Acosta, too? Most likely a vain hope though, that any of CNN's preening media peacocks will be departing.

Government increasingly is asking citizens to snitch on each other. Here's why that's so dangerous

snitching
If we want to limit the government, we must commit to resistance and refuse to help the government carry out its injustices.

In the dystopian novel 1984, the government relied on the use of telescreens and informants to enforce its massive, repressive regime. And while that was fiction, events in our modern society are eerily similar to it.

There's a troubling trend emerging: Americans are being encouraged and even incentivized to turn their fellow citizens in to the government for a myriad of reasons.

For one example, federal officials this week announced they plan to rely on informants in order to determine which companies are enforcing their new (unconstitutional) vaccine mandate. The Biden Administration has used the Labor Department's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as a means of implementing the rule without Congressional approval. Essentially the order says that companies will be heavily fined by the agency should they not demand their employees be vaccinated. But even the administration recognizes there are limits to their ability to enforce such a rule.

According to official statistics, the fully-vaccinated accounted for 83% of Covid-19 deaths and 67% of hospitalisations during the past month in England

Hospital covid
The latest figures published by the new UK Health Security Agency on Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths show that the Covid-19 injections still don't seem to be working.

The 'Covid-19 Vaccine Surveillance Report - Week 45' was published by the UK Health Security Agency (formerly Public Health England) on Thursday, 11th November 2021 and it shows that the vast majority of Covid-19 cases between October 11th and November 7th were among the fully vaccinated population.

FBI director comments on whether it'll meddle in school board meetings, reports

FBI Director Christopher Wray has "made it clear" that the bureau will not be attending tense school board meetings and will "stay in its own lane" on the matter, according to a former agent.

Wray's comments were made at the national conference for the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI last month in Arizona, the Daily Caller reported on Thursday.

Cecil Moses, a retired agent and former Alabama police chief, said Wray wanted to push back against any "misconceptions" about the FBI's role in increasingly heated school board meetings across the country. Moses reportedly said:
"He made the comment that the Bureau will stay in his own lane and I think that's a very, very cogent comment."
The comments come amid concerns among activists and parents after the Department of Justice released a memorandum last month calling for the FBI to work with local law enforcement agencies to investigate a "disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence" against school board officials. Most of the controversies have revolved around often-changing Covid-19 policies, as well as controversial subjects such as Critical Race Theory (CRT).

Record number of workers quit their jobs in September as labor shortages worsens

A record 4.4 million people quit their jobs in September, and job openings remained near a record high as labor shortages continue throughout the country.

Roughly 3.0% of U.S. workers left their jobs in September, a jump from August, when 4.3 million people left the workforce, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) report released Friday. The number of job openings remained near its August level of 10.4 million.
Experts believe the record-setting job departures resulted partially from workers wanting more desirable jobs with better pay, more convenient hours and improved benefits and working conditions, according to The Washington Post. Delta variant cases surged in September, causing some to hesitate to return to in-person work.

Comment: We might also include mandate reluctance as an underlying factor and Biden's plans to cripple the US economic structure.

Thousands protest over Covid-19 tyranny in Melbourne

Thousands of Australians took to the streets of Melbourne to protest over both a vaccine mandate and a proposed bill which would give Victoria State Premier Daniel Andrews more power to declare a pandemic and impose lockdowns.

The large group of protesters, which included children and the elderly, carried Australian flags and marched through Melbourne's Central Business District on Saturday, calling for the dismissal of their premier with chants of "Sack Dan Andrews!"

Craig Kelly, a United Australia Party MP for the Division of Hughes, NSW, took part in the protest and called for the premier powers bill to be killed. On social media, Kelly wrote that the demonstration stood "against tyranny," "against dictators," and "against human rights abusers" in an apparent dig at Andrews.

Comment: Similar protests are occurring in the Hague. RT reports:
Protesters took to the streets and clashed with Dutch police in The Hague shortly after caretaker Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced strict new lockdown measures to curb Covid-19 cases.

Demonstrators threw stones and set off fireworks on Friday evening, while riot police at one point deployed a water cannon, according to footage and reports from the city.
