US restricts Visa Waiver Program for Hungary in attempt to put pressure on Budapest for rejection of Washington's policies

The United States imposed restrictions for Hungarian passport holders under its Visa Waiver Program on Tuesday, saying Budapest has not addressed security vulnerabilities repeatedly raised by Washington.

Relations between the two governments have been burdened recently with Budapest's delay of a parliament vote on Sweden's NATO accession and curbs on LGBTQ rights by Prime Minister Viktor Orban's nationalist government.

In a statement, the U.S. embassy in Budapest said the validity period offered to Hungarians under the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) will be immediately reduced from two years to one year, and that only single visits will be allowed under the system and not multiple visits.

Hungary granted citizenship to about one million people between 2011 and 2020 - mostly ethnic Hungarians living in neighbouring states - "without adequate security measures in place to verify their identities", the U.S. embassy said.

Comment: Since when did the US administration care about countries being flooded with undocumented migrants? It's easily ridiculed statements like this that reveal their real agenda.

Comment: These kinds of tactics may have had some impact a decade ago, but even African nations, that have suffered immensely under the yoke of the US hegemon are breaking free; in addition, Orban himself has warned of how precarious the current global situation is, so it's unlikely that he's going to risk complying knowing what is at stake:

BIS blueprint = Global control of ALL assets, information & people

digital control grid
We've all heard the infamous World Economic Forum phrase "You'll own nothing, and you'll be happy." But how do global elites and central bankers intend to roll out this diabolical scheme? Well, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) mapped it out in their recently published report on a proposed "unified ledger" called, "Blueprint for the future monetary system: improving the old, enabling the new."

Control of All Assets

In simple terms, the BIS' blueprint proposes that all private property in the real world, such as money, houses, cars, etc., would be "tokenised" into digital assets within an "everything in one place" global unified ledger.

CBDCs would be "core to the functioning" of this tokenised world and serve as the reserve currency on the unified ledger. Transactions between CBDCs and tokenised assets, which represent real-world assets, would operate seamlessly through smart contracts on one programmable platform.

'Why should we use the dollar?': Brazil's President Lula calls for trading in local currencies

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called for the abandonment of the dollar in international trade and creation of alternatives to the American currency, including for settlements between the BRICS members (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa).

"Everyone knows that I am in favor of creating our own currency for trade between our countries. Why should we use the dollar in trade with Argentina or China, when it is possible to do this in our currencies? Why countries in which almost half of humanity lives cannot discuss it among themselves?" he said at a meeting with foreign media.

Comment: Whilst Lula isn't saying anything controversial, because moves to ditch the dollar have been increasing apace at late, it's still notable that he's saying it - and it seems even Western controlled credit rating agencies have to admit the diminishing role of the dollar on the world stage:

NATO's 'diabolical hands' to blame for aggravation of Ukrainian crisis - Chinese ambassador to Russia

Zhang Hanhui
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui
NATO was the major cause of the aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said in an interview with TASS.

"For more than 30 years, NATO has been fueling tensions everywhere, breaking stability and encouraging separatism, like it was in Kosovo, Libya, and Afghanistan. Five eastwards expansions seriously impacted the post-Cold War order and security in Europe and were the key cause of the aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis," he said.

"Being a Cold War relic, NATO should have ceased to exist when the Cold War ended," the Chinese diplomat noted. "But it goes on prospering being fed by unleashing wars and instigating conflicts. Facts show that wherever NATO extends its diabolic hands, there will be no peace and people will be dying."

Comment: China is increasingly calling the West out for what it is, and it seems that much of the planet, which has been suffering under the ailing hegemon for the past few decades, is in agreement; and, as demonstrated by China's recent guests, the West is no longer in a position to argue:

Evidence of Joe and Hunter Biden's Burisma corruption is overwhelming

A key associate of Hunter Biden reluctantly admitted details about how the Biden family business was run — and those details are shocking.

Devon Archer, a longtime business partner and close friend of Hunter Biden's, told congressional investigators Monday that at a meeting in Dubai on Dec. 4, 2015, top executives of Ukrainian energy concern Burisma asked Hunter Biden and himself for help from D.C. At the time of the meeting, Hunter Biden's dad, Joe Biden, was serving as Barack Obama's vice president as well as his point person on Ukraine. Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Burisma, and Vadym Pozharski, a Burisma executive, wanted to get Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired as he was investigating the company for corruption, Archer told members of Congress.

Hunter Biden put Zlochevsky and Pozharski on a call with "D.C.," Archer said, noting he was not part of the phone call so couldn't possibly know who exactly was on the other end of the line. Joe Biden did meet and speak more than 20 times with various business associates who were paying for access to the Biden family, Archer admitted.

Mike Pence's secret notes revealed in Jack Smith's Trump indictment

Pence's previously unreported notes are presented as evidence against Trump in Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment of the former president...

Then-Vice President Mike Pence took "contemporaneous notes" of his conversations with Donald Trump in the days before the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment of the former president revealed Tuesday.

Pence's previously unreported notes are presented as evidence against Trump, who faces four federal charges related to his actions after the 2020 presidential election and unproven claims the election was stolen. Trump is charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.

The 45-page indictment alleges:
"As the January 6 congressional certification proceeding approached and other efforts to impair, obstruct, and defeat the federal government function failed, [Trump] sought to enlist the Vice President to use his ceremonial role at the certification to fraudulently alter the election results.

"The Defendant did this first by using knowingly false claims of election fraud to convince the Vice President to accept the Defendant's fraudulent electors, reject legitimate electoral votes, or send legitimate electoral votes to state legislatures for review rather than count them. When that failed, the Defendant attempted to use a crowd of supporters that he had gathered in Washington, D.C., to pressure the Vice President to fraudulently alter the election results."
The indictment cites several phone calls between Trump and Pence in late December 2020 and early January 2021 in which Trump allegedly made "knowingly false" claims about the election and pressured his vice president to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden's victory. Pence recounted some of these conversations in his memoir, "So Help Me God."

Comment: Anyone can put anything into notes at any meeting.
Definition of Conspiracy: a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. A conspiracy, also known as a plot, is a secret plan or agreement between people (called conspirers or conspirators) for an unlawful or harmful purpose, such as murder or treason, especially with political motivation, while keeping their agreement secret from the public or from other people affected by it. In a political sense, conspiracy refers to a group of people united in the goal of usurping, altering or overthrowing an established political power. Depending on the circumstances, a conspiracy may also be a crime, or a civil wrong. The term generally connotes, or implies, wrongdoing or illegality on the part of the conspirators, as it is commonly believed that people would not need to conspire to engage in activities that were lawful and ethical, or to which no one would object. -Wikipedia

Sweden ramps up security after Quran burnings

Citing a heightened terrorist threat, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has announced new police powers...

Sweden's borders will be tightened and police given new stop and search powers, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced on Tuesday. Kristersson warned that a spate of Quran burnings in the country has triggered "the most serious security situation since the Second World War."

The new measures will be temporary, Kristersson said, adding that his government is also considering legislation that would allow police to stop people [from] burning the Muslim holy book if such stunts would threaten Sweden's national security.

Iraqi Christian immigrants burned a copy of the Quran outside the Swedish parliament building on Monday, the third such incident in a month. Sweden's freedom of speech laws permit the burning of holy texts, but the protests have sparked fears of an Islamist backlash.

In a statement on Sunday, Kristersson said:
"We are currently in the most serious security situation since the Second World War. States and state-like actors are actively exploiting the situation. In a free country like Sweden, you have a great deal of freedom. But with that great degree of freedom comes a great degree of responsibility. Everything that is legal is not necessarily appropriate. It can be awful but still lawful. We try to promote a respectful tone between countries and peoples."

Comment: Sweden's dilemma is Catch-22.

Republicans react to 'shameful' indictment of Trump: 'Outrageous abuse of power'

Trump was indicted Tuesday as part of Special Counsel Jack Smith's Jan. 6 probe

Republicans on Tuesday called the latest indictment of former President Trump an "outrageous abuse of power" and dismissed it as an attempt by the Biden administration to distract from testimony from earlier in the week about President Biden's son Hunter.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik of New York told Fox News Digital Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment against Trump marks "yet another dark day in America as Joe Biden continues to weaponize his corrupt Department of Justice against his leading political opponent Donald J. Trump."

"Less than 24 hours ago, Congress heard testimony from Hunter Biden's longtime business partner that Joe Biden joined Hunter's business calls over 20 times," Stefanik said. "This directly contradicts Biden's lie that he never discussed business with his son.

"Today's sham indictment of Donald Trump is yet another desperate attempt to distract attention away from the mounting evidence of Joe Biden's direct involvement in his family's illegal influence peddling scheme, one of the greatest political corruption scandals in history.

Best of the Web: Trump: 'Either the Deep State destroys America, or we destroy the Deep State'

trump american flag illustration
In a new scathing op-ed, former President Trump detailed many of the insanities coming from his political opponents as they pushed the completely unproven idea of Trump-Russia collusion. He made the case that despite all the grief he and many close to him have been subjected to as a result of the Russiagate Hoax, the true victims of the madness are the American people.

After kicking off with a brief introduction establishing the piece's premise, the former president took us back to his run for office in 2016, discussing campaign promises including his vows to end mass illegal immigration, globalist trade deals, the sellout of the US to Communist China, and to "stand up to the permanent bureaucracy and the corporate media."

Former President Trump also promised to end the "neocon addiction to endless foreign wars." He notably is the first US President since Jimmy Carter to start no new wars.

Kiev should 'appreciate' Poland's support: Diplomatic spat erupts as Polish pro-war policy clashes with Ukraine grain ban

Poland has offered its full-throated support for NATO's proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, and sent billions of euros in military aid to Kiev. But this week, Warsaw and Kiev summoned one another's ambassadors after a Polish official accused Ukraine of "ingratitude" and emphasized the need to pursue Poland's economic interests.

The tit-for-tat summoning of ambassadors by Kiev and Warsaw demonstrates the glaring mistake of zealously promoting the narrative that the Ukrainian crisis is a fight for Poland's freedom, a leading Polish newspaper has concluded.

The Polish Foreign Ministry summoned Ukraine's ambassador in Warsaw on Tuesday in connection with "statements by Ukrainian authorities," several hours after the Polish ambassador to Ukraine was summoned in Kiev. The tit-for-tat summons revolve around comments made by Marcin Przyadacz, secretary of state at the chancellery of the Polish president, that Kiev should "start to appreciate" Polish assistance.

Comment: Amongst a variety of other issues, the Ukrainian grain ban and subsequent spat reflects a growing concern amongst governments across the planet of the food supply chain and how, increasingly, the smooth functioning of it trumps a great many other concerns: Russia announces 'temporary' ban on rice exports to stabilise domestic market

Poland's PM took to Twitter:

Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki is outraged by the fact that the Polish ambassador was summoned to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry "In international politics, in the conditions of the ongoing war, given the huge support that Poland provides to Ukraine, such mistakes should not be made," he said on twitter. He also added that for Poland, the interests of any other state will never stand above their own.
