Series of Bad Decisions: Biden Refills Strategic Petroleum Reserve at Cost for US Taxpayers

Oil drill

Team Biden is doing damage control ahead of the election by hastily refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). Alas, it is coming at a cost for American taxpayers as the administration is purchasing crude at twice the historic average, Just the News says.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) is currently buying three million barrels a month to refill the nation's SPR in the wake of Joe Biden's release of over 225 million barrels of oil between March 2022 and August 2023, dumping levels in the reserve to the lowest in 40 years.

Tim Stewart, president of the US Oil and Gas Association, alleges that Team Biden is doing nothing short of damage control ahead of the 2024 election given that the nation's depleted SPR has recently become the public's concern.
"Prior to 2022, the average person knew nothing about the SPR. That has completely changed. When the lovely 75-year-old blue-haired lady at church complains to me how Biden has drained the SPR - they must have caught the public's attention," Stewart told Just the News, an independent US media outlet founded by award-winning investigative journalist John Solomon.
Apparently, the Biden administration would have bought "refill barrels" at a greater pace, but it is facing limits on how much crude can be funneled into the reserve per month. That means it will take a whopping 75 months to bring the SPR back to the level at which it was before US President Joe Biden started draining it.

Comment: So it would only take 6 years to bring the SPR reserves back to where they were when Biden came to office.

Comment: The current administration and for that matter most of Congress do not care what the consequences of their inept decisions are for the American people.
A country ruled by such pathological deviants can only go downhill until the masses wake up from the sleeping slumber. This process is well described in the book, Political Ponerology: The Science of Evil, Psychopathy, and the Origins of Totalitarianism

Fire razes ex-PM Tanaka's former home in Tokyo, other former ministers inside at time of blaze

japan pm fire
A fire has razed the Tokyo home where late Japanese Prime Minister Tanaka Kakuei used to live.

The blaze broke out in the Bunkyo Ward residence Monday afternoon. More than 20 fire engines were deployed in response.

About 800 square meters of the site was burned down, including all of a two-story house and part of a one-story residence.

Police say the former prime minister's daughter Tanaka Makiko, who once served as foreign minister, and her husband and former defense minister Tanaka Naoki were on the premises along with two other people.

Comment: Whilst accident is always a possibility, considering the relatively high profile nature of the occupants and owner, together with other events in Japan of late, it seems more likely that this was arson, and maybe a warning:

Iraq wants to kick out US troops

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani has promised to launch a process to expel international coalition forces from the country, after a US airstrike killed a high-ranking militia commander in Baghdad.

An attack hit the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, an Iraqi state-sponsored umbrella organization composed of dozens of armed factions, on Thursday. At least two people were killed, including Mushtaq Taleb al-Saidi, the leader of Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba (HHN), which Washington has listed as a terrorist group and claims is backed by Iran.

"The Popular Mobilization Forces represent an official presence affiliated with the state, subject to it, and an integral part of our armed forces," the Iraqi prime minister stated on Friday. "We condemn the attacks targeting our security forces, which go beyond the spirit and letter of the mandate that created the international coalition."

Pentagon Press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder defended the January 4 strike as a "necessary, proportionate act," amid a wave of attacks on American military installations in the region.

Flashback The Birth of a Serial Killer Nation

Feet on Flag
© NY Times
In recent years, there has been more credence given to the rumors that serial killer Ted Bundy was in fact, the product of incest, more specifically, the accidental spawn of his own grandfather. The chaotic circumstances of his early upbringing further stunted his character, eventually disabling his conscience altogether. Fate conspired to produce a monster from the human failures surrounding his cursed arrival into the world that foreshadowed the blight he would become upon it. The sins of the (grand)father would leave its permanent mark on the child, condemning him to inflict the same horrors on innocent others.

This dynamic has precedence in the creation of another inhuman entity that would launch a reign of terror upon the earth. This ghastly organism was similarly incubated as a homunculus, and birthed as a nation in 1948. The genetic material from the maniac who sired it was incorporated into its own body politic, becoming itself a belligerent regime founded upon its own sense of racial superiority.

What serial killer hasn't escalated his crimes in an attempt to be finally caught, and hopefully silence the voices in his head urging him towards a point of no return? Ted Bundy's worsening mental state in the weeks leading to his arrest transformed the stealth predator into a "disorganized" killer, no longer concerned with burying the bodies or concealing the evidence. Zionism similarly traces the trajectory of a rootless wanderer as he devolves into a deranged, home-invading drifter.

Iraqi gov't preparing to kick out US-led coalition 'permanently' - PM

Mohammed Shia al-Sudani
Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani
Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani says his government is forming a committee to prepare arrangements for the permanent dissolution of the occupying US-led coalition's mission in the country.

Sudani made the announcement in a statement on Friday, a day after a drone strike on the headquarters of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Hashd al-Sha'abi, in eastern Baghdad killed three people, including a commander of the Nujaba resistance movement.

"Government is setting the date for the start of the bilateral committee to put arrangements to end the presence of the international coalition forces in Iraq permanently," the Iraqi prime minister's office said in the statement.

The committee was reported to include representatives from Baghdad and the occupation coalition.

Comment: The Iraqi government have said this before, to no avail; and, if Israeli and US airstrikes on Lebanon, and Syria, and the coalitions presence in the Red Sea, is anything to go by, it's unlikely we'll see any change anytime soon.

However, at least symbolically, it does bear repeating. And it's clear that the risk the US is taking, in continuing to try to maintain these vulnerable outposts, is increasing:

Netanyahu slams cabinet meeting leaks, seeks polygraphs for attendees

Cabinet members and high ranking officials attending discussions of national security issues must be compelled to undergo lie detector tests, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declares, arguing that too many details of government deliberations are being shared with the press.

"We have a plague of leaks and I am not willing to continue like this, which is why I directed the promotion of a law that everyone who sits in cabinets and security discussions, including the political and professional ranks — will undergo a polygraph," Channel 12 reports Netanyahu as saying during the cabinet meeting.

Comment: If pathological personalities can pass lie detector tests unscathed, then it's unlikely they'll find the leakers anytime soon.

It seems that having a ponerised government has its benefits but also its drawbacks.

Whilst this further highlights just how fractured the coalition government is, even if Netanyahu were to be ousted, judging by the sinister commentary from other members, it's unlikely that there would be much pull back from the burgeoning genocide:

'He lost me': Jonathan Turley rebuts Biden's 'assault on democracy' speech in less than 60 seconds

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said that President Joe Biden's speech about democracy "seemed rather conflicting" in the details Friday.

Biden claimed former President Donald Trump promised an "assault on democracy" during the Friday speech near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, saying defending democracy was a "central cause" of his administration. During the speech, Biden cited the riot at the Capitol building during the certification of the electoral votes on Jan. 6, 2021.

Turley told Fox News host Martha MacCallum:
"He lost me in the specifics. He talks about democracy being on the ballot but the ballot isn't very democratic, his own party is trying to strip ballots of Donald Trump's name to prevent people who want to vote for what appears to be the leading candidate for the presidency from doing that."

Comment: "Divisive and angry" was an appropriate description of Biden's rhetoric in his speech near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, his first campaign speech this election year:

The former president is worried that the Democrat's campaign is not flexible enough for the increasingly heated race...

Former US President Barack Obama has urged current leader Joe Biden's advisers to bolster his 2024 reelection efforts amid failing ratings for the sitting president. Obama reportedly believes Biden's chances will be improved by empowering people in the campaign to act without the need to seek approval from the White House, according to the Washington Post.

Obama and Biden discussed the campaign during a private lunch at the White House in recent months, the Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing sources familiar with the matter. The former president reportedly became "animated" while talking about the 2024 election and the prospect of a Trump victory.

Comment: Obama suggests a campaign free-for-all...in whose best interest?

'Nobody will win from regional conflict' warns EU's Borrell during Lebanon visit

The European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Saturday warned against a regional conflict that would involve Lebanon, as border clashes intensified nearly three months into Israel's war with Hezbollah ally Hamas.

During a press conference in Beirut with Lebanon's foreign minister, Borrell said:
"It is imperative to avoid regional escalation in the Middle East. It is absolutely necessary to avoid Lebanon being dragged into a regional conflict. I am sending this message to Israel too: Nobody will win from a regional conflict."
Lebanon's Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israel have exchanged near-daily cross-border fire since Hamas's 7 October attack on southern Israel, which triggered the war.

But a strike in Hezbollah's south Beirut stronghold that killed Hamas's deputy leader, Saleh al-Arouri, on Tuesday intensified fears of a wider conflagration.

Comment: Spreading the conflict may be in Israel's best interest. By goading other entities and triggering their involvement, Israel rallies support, justifies its actions and deflects blame.

Ex-NATO commander insists Türkiye must let 'defensive' warships into Black Sea

James Stavridis says Ankara should act in accordance with its role as a member of the US-led military bloc

Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander James Stavridis has claimed there is no justification for Türkiye to prevent the UK, a fellow member of the US-led military bloc, from donating its warships to Ukraine.

The Turkish government said on Tuesday that it will not allow minesweeping vessels which the UK has pledged to Ukraine to pass through the Bosphorus, citing the 1936 Montreux Convention. Ankara, which controls the straits linking the Black Sea with the Mediterranean, shut down access to foreign warships when the Ukraine conflict escalated in 2022.

Stavridis, however, claimed that "there is sufficient discretion" under the Montreux Convention to allow British warships into the Black Sea, and Ankara should have used a loophole to allow the passage of "purely defensive" vessels.
