The Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, affirmed that the navigation issue in the Red Sea did not originate with Yemen but rather with the aggression against Gaza.

He stressed the necessity of halting the aggression against the people of Gaza as the only solution to cease all forms of escalation, instead of resorting to aggression against Yemen.

In an interview with Al Jazeera on Friday, Anwar Ibrahim stated that Washington must stop the killing in Gaza.

The Iraqi army and the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMU) clashed with ISIS militants in western Anbar governorate on 3 February, an Iraqi security source told Al-Mayadeen.

The Iraqi Al-Nujaba satellite channel said that ISIS took advantage of the US bombing of targets in Iraq and Syria by launching an attack on the army and the PMU forces in the area of Kilometer 160 on the Al-Sakkar highway near the town of Rutba in Anbar.

The US has occupied the nearby Al-Tanf Base on the Syrian side of the border since 2015 and has used it to arm and train ISIS militants.

New Northern Irish leader predicts vote on leaving UK

Michelle O'Neill
Michelle O'Neill has declared that the state is facing into 'a decade of opportunity'

Michelle O'Neill, the only Irish nationalist to have ever been appointed first minister of Northern Ireland, has said that she anticipates a referendum on Irish unity to take place within the next 10 years.

In an interview with Sky News on Sunday, O'Neill noted that her campaign was based on being the "first minister for all."

"I am somebody who wants to be a unifier. I am somebody who wants to bring people together," she stressed.

When asked whether she agrees with the statement of her party leader Mary Lou McDonald, that a United Ireland is "within touching distance" as opposed to "decades" away, O'Neill said that she believes that Northern Ireland is witnessing "a decade of opportunity."
"There are so many things that are changing all the old norms: the nature of the state, the fact that a nationalist republican was never supposed to be first minister. This all speaks to that change."

Comment: The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland would long since have been reunited if it hadn't been for the subversive activities of the British regime in Northern Ireland.

Jordan contradicts White House, says attacked US base is located in Syria

al tanf syria tower 22 area 55 us base
© acloserlookonsyria.shoutwiki.com/According to sources cited by John Helmer, the support base Tower22 hosts 350 US soldiers, while Al Tanf only (illegally) hosts 200 US Soldiers.
Jordan has refuted US President Joe Biden's statement that US forces were attacked in Jordan's territory.

"The US [military] base that came under an attack is located outside Jordan," Jordanian Minister of Government Communications Muhannad Mubaidin told the Al Mamlaka television channel.

According to Miibaidin, the base is located in Syria's al-Tanf area near the border with Jordan.

Earlier in the day, the White House released President Biden's written statement saying that on January 27 "three U.S. service members were killed — and many wounded — during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border."

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said earlier that three US soldiers had been killed and at least had been wounded in a drone attack on a US base in northern Jordan.

Comment: So is Jordan actually saying that the (illegal) U.S. base at al-Tanf was the actual target of the attack, and that claiming it was Tower 22 is a lie on the part of the U.S.?

Maximum cringe: Nikki Haley guest stars on 'SNL'

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley made a Feb. 3 cameo on "Saturday Night Live" (SNL).

Haley, who appeared as herself, asked a cast member playing her opponent, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, a series of questions during a CNN town hall skit in the show's cold open.

"Had a blast tonight on SNL," Haley wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after her appearance aired. "Know it was past Donald's bedtime so looking forward to the stream of unhinged tweets in the a.m."

Comment: As if it wasn't obvious who the Deep State wants running on the Republican ticket, this painfully over the top publicity stunt cleared up all remaining doubts. Barf!

Biden sacrifices American troops, and Mideast security, for US-Israeli hegemony

After three American troops are killed on the Jordan-Syria border, Biden launches strikes in Iraq and Syria to defend US military occupation and Israeli genocide.

[Update: in light of Friday's US strikes in Iraq and Syria, which the White House calls a retaliation for the recent attack on a US military base on the Jordan-Syria border that killed three American soldiers, I am unlocking this article, which provides some relevant background].

The Biden administration has vowed to retaliate after a drone strike on a US military base near the Jordan-Syria border killed three US soldiers and wounded more than 34 others, some critically.

In a statement, President Biden blamed what he called "radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq," and pledged to "hold all those responsible to account." The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which took credit for the operation, called it a direct response to Israel's genocidal assault on Gaza and the presence of "American occupation forces in Iraq and the region." The Iranian Foreign Ministry has denied any involvement.

The US claims that its troops were hit on Jordan's side of the border. Jordanian officials dispute that and say that the incident occurred in Syria, where the US maintains an unauthorized and unwelcome military force. Wherever it took place, the Beltway consensus is that Biden must now respond with more aggression in the Middle East, including potential strikes on Iran.

Israel ignoring UN court order - South Africa

Pretoria's foreign minister says hundreds of civilians have been killed in the besieged Gaza since last week's ruling...

South Africa has accused Israel of disregarding a ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordering it to prevent civilian deaths in its war in Gaza against the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor told reporters in Pretoria on Wednesday that the Israeli government has killed hundreds more people in Gaza, just days after the UN's top court ruling last week.

The ICJ ruled on January 26 that Israel must take all necessary precautions to prevent genocide and destruction in the Palestinian territories. While the court stopped short of demanding a ceasefire, it did order West Jerusalem to punish members of its military who commit genocide, as well as government officials who advocate for massacre.

In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the World Court's decision as "outrageous" and declared that no Israeli soldiers would be brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Comment: Suppose the ICC comes up with a stellar proposal to end Israel's killing spree. Who is going to enforce it?
